Didn't care for this location of Modern Market. Compared to the one I usually go to (one on Arapahoe and Yosemite), this Colo Blvd location is not as nice as my go-to location. A lot smaller. It wasn't dirty but something about it simply jive with what I was thinking of. I received an email from Modern Market in mid September with $2 off at my next visit so I tried to use it. The guy behind the register (who was very nice to me) said I had to claim the offer through the app but there was nothing indicated in the email that I would need to do so. Fortunately, he kindly offered me the $2 off as "Thank Guest Recovery" (that's what I saw on the receipt.) I got lucky here courtesy of the guy's generous gesture. I went with the Tofu bowl with thr fire roasted veggies and the garlic mashed potatoes. He was very kind and patient with me throughout the whole ordering process. Now once I got to my car, I opened the container and darn!! I complete spaced out for not asking them to modify the plate a bit. Modern Market's rice is premixed with quinoa. I cannot eat quinoa as I'm allergic to it (I needed to ask for cauliflower rice instead.) I was sooooo bummed. Well, this was my mistake so going back inside and asking for modifications would not be fair to them so I simply discarded the rice into the trash (food abuse or what!!!) Service was good at this location (my impression is that Modern Market truly focuses on good customer service no matter where I go.) The Tofu tasted okay but the fire roasted veggies and the garlic mashed potatoes were old (they appeared to have sit on the warmer for hours was the impression I got; they simply didn't look fresh at all.) Well, it wasn't a horrible experience but I guess I'll stick to my regular location in Greenwood Village going forward. read more

Very disappointing experience. I just ate at this place, and honestly, everything was bad. First of all, I had to wait way too long for my order. People who ordered after me were served, finished eating, and left -- while I was still waiting, along with others who had also been waiting 40-50 minutes. Second, I specifically ordered "for here", but my food was packed to go. Third, the sandwich I got looked nothing like the picture. It was supposed to come with toasted bread -- instead, I got a cold sandwich with cold, plain bread. And lastly, some of the staff were rude. The chicken itself was good tho! I have never actually been to this location. I have only ordered online and someone from my office picks up our order. I have tried the pizzas and a sandwich and wasn't too impressed until I got the salmon Caesar. This is now my go to every time we order food for the office from Modern Market. The salmon is always cooked perfectly and I sub the kale for mixed greens and it is soooo delicious. Perfect lunch and super healthy. I tried this place the last time I was in Denver, and I was so excited to go again! Their menu is full of fresh items that look and sound delicious! I was debating trying something new for my second time here, but I loved the blueberry pesto sandwich so much the first time that I couldn't not get it! The sandwich is basically a caprese sandwich, topped off with balsamic blueberry jam! It might sound weird but it's SO good! The first time I came here the sandwich was perfect, and I would've given it 5 stars for sure. Unfortunately this time my bread was toasted way too much (burnt in some places). It was really hard which made it difficult to eat, and my mouth was torn up afterward. When I got past the bread though, the inside was just as incredible as I remembered. I bet if I asked them to redo it for me they would've, because the staff was incredibly friendly--I was just in a hurry though. Maybe in the future I would ask for the bread to be only lightly toasted so that didn't happen again. I feel like the price is worth the quality and freshness of the food you get here. They have "half" or "full" options which is nice if you're trying to save money or only want a smaller portion of food. Street Corn Pizza: Super interesting - we've never had pizza like it before, definitely worth a try! Beware: the jalapeños were surprisingly spicy. When a place is a part of your regular rotation and you realize you never left a review, it's hard to know how many stars to give because you have seen it all! I love Modern market for what it offers - good quality fast casual food at a reasonable price point. They have a $7 bowl promotion on Tuesdays, a solid rewards program and the menu is vast that almost everyone can find something. The reason why I can't give it 5 stars is lack of consistency. Some days you place an order and get your food right away, other days it's a 30 minute wait. Often times if you customize an item, they get the customization right but mess something else up. It's these details that keep me from giving modern market a 5 star review and i think 4 might be a little generous too. Harry, the manager is so warm and welcoming. Quiet, comfortable space to get work done. Great, healthy food options. Service wasn't lightning fast, but not terribly slow. I think I've found my new go-to "get out of the house" space to remote work. It's not the cheapest place to eat, but I feel their healthier ingredients and exceptional customer service more than justifies their pricing. It's great that nutrition information is included on their menu (on their website). The sodium content on many dishes is a little off the charts, but unfortunately, I think this is pretty common with restaurant food. I was disappointed with the flavors of my Curry Salmon bowl though. It wasn't as tasty as expected. My dining partner seemed okay with her Margarita pizza, though I noticed she didn't finish it or take the leftovers with her. Looking for somewhere in the vicinity of Hyatt house Cherry Creek for a light dinner and the MM is in an outdoor shopping center right across Mississippi within walking distance.  In early evening it's not very busy and there is plenty of indoor tables if wanting to eat in.  There are a couple of outdoor tables as well but not practical when the temps is in the low 40s.  We tried the Basil Chicken sandwich and the Curry Sweet Potato soup - both quite tasty.  One full sandwich and soup are enough for 2 to share for a light meal. I really wanted to like this place but I'm disappointed in the quality of the food. My husband ordered a steak salad and I ordered a Mediterranean steak bowl with an extra order of blackened chicken. He ordered an extra order of steak and his portion was ample, though he noted it was a bit bland. However, my steak looked like someone took 2 slices of leftover steak and cut them into tiny pieces. My steak had a ton of fat and gristle and was completely overcooked and inedible. For a $20+ bowl...I just expected better quality food. I also paid extra for arugula as the alternative to rice. They chose to give me a few pieces of arugula and the majority of my bowl was romaine lettuce. I didn't even ask for romaine. Unacceptable. Again, for $20+ per order, I'm disappointed. UPDATE, many years later: this is a solid place that found its groove and continues to be a reliable option along South Colorado Boulevard. The dining room is plenty big and the menu is full of options, whether you want a bowl, a sandwich, or a pizza. I've got a few favorites on the menu, so as long as they don't change those, I'm good to go. There's lots of parking, which can be a rarity in strip malls along this street, and it's a comfortable place to have a quick lunch or grab a meal to go. Horrible service- three separate times I've gone in I've stood at the service counter and have been completely ignored for 5+ minutes.... Hard to believe it claims to be only 610 calories because it was such a generous portion. It arrived untossed which made for a great presentation. I really liked how the ingredients were healthy but the combination was delicious. The other choices on the menu were equally unique so I look forward to trying something different next time! I came here for lunch with some co-workers on a Monday and it was quite busy. We luckily were able to snag a table for the 4 of us. They have a shared parking lot so plenty of spots to find. Walking in, you go and order, sit down with a number, and the server brings your food out. I ordered the half Blueberry Pesto Sandwich. It came with chips and I got a drink. The soda fountain is craft sodas, yum! And you help yourself. The half portion was the perfect size for lunch. And it was delicious. I was nervous it would be too sweet but the pesto balances that out and the bread is delicious. They had a lot of options between sandwiches, salads, and even personal size pizzas. It's the only thing I've ever "ordered" but I have sampled their pepperoni pizza and their bbq chicken pizza and found them equally scrumptious. The people who work at this location are really friendly (I think the owner works behind the counter). The decor is clean and modern-- HA! Like MOD market-- and the food is served quickly. I got confused as to where the entrance was, but if you park in the Tokyo Joe's parking lot it is to the right of the building. Mod Market also has parking at the back of the building. I think the prices are reasonable for the amount/quality of food you get ($8-11 per entree), but I understand why people don't want to pay over $10 for a salad. Modmarket is my go-to place when I want a delicious meal that is satisfying while being kind to my waistline and body. All the food is fresh, made with quality ingredients, and delicious! I'm obsessed with the Fiesta Salad! It's a flavor explosion! I'm not a person who loves ordering salads (I often do because I should but I'm always really wanting a pizza or sandwich, all of which are great here) but this salad is so good that I actually crave it!! I feel so satisfied every time I get it. It makes me feel like I'm indulging but it is very nutritious. The half salad is plenty for a meal for me. Your receipt gives you a breakdown of calories, proteins, carbs, and fats which is really nice to know. The measure and weigh everything so it is pretty accurate. The staff here is always so friendly. It is clean and there are lots of places to sit. I need to stand because of a back problem so I love the tall tables! I had high hopes for this place but it just fell short... we ordered two bowls and they were not good. The curry salmon looked so good on the menu that we had to get it. Sadly it was a disappointment... the salmon was over cooked and the kale was plain and raw. The wild rice was dry. I do have to say the curry itself was good. The Mediterranean bowl was also a disappointment. The steak tasted like it was boiled with no flavor and the rice was also dry. I'm only giving this 3 stars based on my last 3 experiences here. I've been coming here for the last 3 years and for the most part the food is healthy and decent for the price. However , the last 3 consecutive times I've ordered from here- there are always missing ingredients in my salads or bowls- (last two times they forgot the tomatoes and croutons on my salad which is my favorite part.) but tonight topped it off. Ordered a salad today and they forgot the croutons AGAIN. I also ordered the modern toast and the avocado is literally brown (see pic). How could the person making knowingly give and serve an almost moldy avocado to a customer? We called and let them know and they made it right with the refund for the toast which was nice- but come on guys, you're better than that. I hadn't gone in awhile and stopped in this past weekend and ordered a couple of pizzas and a large salad to go. Everything was ready and waiting for me upon pickup. I do enjoy eating in as well. They offer cane sugar sodas as well as wine. There is a happy hour with discounted prices for wine too. What I like is that the food is generally healthy and doesn't have food with overly fatty or heavy sauces. My salad was totally fabulous with loads of tasty flavors. The goat cheese was fantastic combined with the walnuts and apple. Really good. My friends salad had some totally mushy tomato slices that even across the table looked totally unappetizing. The space was clean and bustling with activity. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the cookie sheet trays that our salads were served on. It didn't look hip and cool, it looked like a cookie sheet which had my plate sliding around. Ordered a market Cobb salad, which costs $12, and comes with a protein: prosciutto. Service was great, and everyone behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. But, when I got home with my takeout, I opened the salad and there were literally three pieces of razor-thin shaved prosciutto on top of a huge bed of greens. Three pieces of prosciutto for a $12 salad? It seemed extremely skimpy, and while the salad itself was good, I couldn't justify the price for what I got. Aren't standard protein portions at these healthy quick serve restaurants around 4oz? I had less than 1oz if protein.
