Every time I have called ahead to order a Smashburger to pick up, the phone rang without being answerved. I would call 3, 4 or even five times while I was en route. Today was the same thing, so I ordered when I got to the store , as I usually do. This time I decided to redial while I was in the restaurant just to make sure the phone was ringing. I really do love this place when they get it right but tonight (after a looooong week) I ordered a chicken bacon club without ranch and they instead put "no bacon" ... I double checked my emailed receipt to confirm... Bacon is a pricier item too... just a bummer. Especially since they did put ranch.. who needs avocado, mayo, AND ranch? Another place that's local to my workplace, so convenient for evening stops (or lunch on the very rare occasion I don't take my own). This Smashburger location has not let me down. The staff are always friendly. The food is pretty good and freshly made and ready at the specified time of ordering online. Smashburger produces a good burger for being a fast food chain and worth the prices that are shared by places like McDonald's and Wendy's, where I often feel robbed because of the lackluster quality. I usually get the classic double and the beef, cheese, condiments, and veggies are doled out in good ratios. I downloaded yelp just to leave this review. I walked in and all the employees were just sitting in the dining area talking. When I walked in no one greeted me one of them just got up and walked to the register and waited for me to order. They had the audacity to ask for a tip when they weren't even doing their job. One employee went back to make the order a minute or so after I ordered so this ended up taking a good amount of time despite no one else being in the store. This place mellowed out since the lockdowns. Used to pretty bustling and bossy little corner of the shopping area, now it's pretty sociably manageable. The service was quick and softspoken, and the food was pretty fresh and delicious. Definitely more worth visiting around lunch time now that kids don't raid the place anymore. I used to love Smashburger - and part of me still does. For fast, casual, carb heavy meals - Smash isn't bad. Now that I'm low carb, Smash and I don't hang out as much. Or ever. Till tonight. And why not? It's not everyday. And, during this crazy decade of a year, Yelp has made ordering via their app super easy. So, in the time it took my partner to share he was hankering for a burger, I had Yelp open and was searching my options in "current location." Love that feature. Less than a minute later, my order was placed and I'm back to heading home. Yelp makes me look like a super star multi-taker, lol. This Smash location was half way between me and home. Perfect. Pickup was just as easy as ordering and once I arrived to my "pickup parking spot," I called and let them know I had arrived. Not even five minutes passed and I was back on the road with dinner. Love their truffle fries and their sweet potato fries - thin and crispy. We had their bacon avocado burgers and enjoyed the carb loaded evening. For fast food, Smash is definitely a notch above. My wifes black bean burger was decent she said, the kids cheeseburger was fine, but my avacado bacon club crispy chicken sandwich was awful. I don't think I've had a chicken sandwich so dry and bland before. The chicken was hard and overcooked and dry as the Sahara desert. The bun was hard and just as dry with zero flavor. Even the cheese I added, combined with the avocado and mayo didn't help at all. Talk about a let down. My boyfriend knows that I love burgers; especially Bacon BBQ Burgers. I was pretty excited to try a new place especially since they have gluten free buns. However this place just lacked what I was craving and I was honestly disappointed. First, I repeated my order twice to the women and checked the order on the screen was correct. The order they gave me was not correct and lacked bacon. We found out when we got home. Second, the meat was really dry while the sauce was a bit too sweet to be honest. I asked for extra sauce and was given it; however even with the extra it sadly wasn't enough. The bun was really good for being gluten free but it was a small burger. I held my breath and ordered hoping it was just a last minute cleaning before opening. Nope, not only did the smell of sewage and urine not go away it seemed to get worse. I picked my burger up, took a bite and got a mouth full of greasy receipt paper. They actually placed my burger right on top of the receipt that stuck to the bottom of my burger and was hidden by the peppers, cheese, onions and grease. I'm sure the receipt paper and ink are OK for vegans or robots but in my opinion it was just gross not to mention a food safety hazard. The picture is attached. I usually don't review fast food joints or large chains; they already have established niches in the market and quality is predictable as it should be. However, in my quest for the best burger, and having rated Shake Shack so high, I thought it fair to revisit Smashburger to compare apples to apples. Candidly, I was a big fan of Smashburger in the beginning. I thought their burgers were rich and flavorful. I usually order the truffle mushroom Swiss burger. They were a bit greasy but so good. As Smashburger grew, it seemed that quality started to waiver. I am not sure what possessed me to order it, but I tried the triple double....and wish I didn't. On my first attempt to pick it up, it took 5 napkins to wipe my hands. Then even more napkins to pat some of the grease off. After taking my first bite, the burger just slid apart. I should have complained but was too pressed for time. This cheesy mess may palate well for some but not for me. American cheese and the cheddar cheese sauce was too much...greasy, salty-couldn't taste anything but that awful cheddar sauce. I took another bite then scraped the cheese off and ate just the burgers. Even then, the rich beef flavor was not there. I may try my usual mushroom burger one last time, but this last visit was really disappointing. It may be sometime before I return. read more

I don't think my mind will change on how I feel about this burger joint-- simply expensive and very minimal sized portion burgers. I'd like to think that they compete with Carl's Jr. menu, and Carl's Jr., is a fast food chain with a drive thru. The pricing is tremendous, the fries can be overly salty, but the restrictions on this place is nothing. You can still request for extras on anything, but prepare to pay a little more, respectively. I am a fan of this spot, I simply think there is room for improvement. The overall Smashburger visits for me are 3 visits per year, which is still a tad bit over generous. I personally am a fan of the burgers, the greasiness and the drops of it, make my burger moreover messy. The staff are never a general problem, so I can dismiss that with a smile. The seating of the area are very spacious and still not so much of a problem. I am willing to come back, but for now, it's average. read more
