We had a burger there last week with a friend. The burgers, as usual were excellent. The service was another story. It took a long time for my husband to get his burger. When we asked about it, very nicely, I might add, the girl who took our order was extremely rude and told us that we were waiting for his chicken to grill. We explained that he ordered a burger. She insisted that we didn't and was extremely rude and kept saying "God bless me!!!" over and over. Mind you that at that time we were the only people in the place so she wasn't very stressed. Maybe when they train their staff they should include a lesson on manners and courtesy. I have no intention of going back anytime soon! read more

This is my least favorite smash burger in the area. You can go at any given time and the tables are not cleaned. (See picture) Whenever I want to order online it says that I cannot for this location. If I ever do end up ordering online you can stand under the pick up sign for a while and no one will approach unless you stop them. Stopped in here for lunch and had a great experience. The lady taking my order was attentive and friendly. My food came out quickly and hot. The place is very clean and love the vibe of it. Ketchup, salt, pepper etc. is all provided on the tables. My burger was flavorful, juicy and the fries were perfectly crunchy. I'll be back to try other burgers in the future! Great spot! read more

This place sells some great tasting burgers, and chicken sandwiches to crave for. Their shakes are made with real ice cream like an old school ice cream shop and they have wonderful smashfries (regular or sweet potato), with flavoring and olive oil and addicting. They need to hire a new manager. Terrible Service. I walked out and went to bagel shop next door. I was craving a burger and when I walked in I was ready to order because I love smash burger and had been there before. Nobody was behind the cash register. So I asked the woman cleaning tables if I ordered with her or somebody else. She asked me to be patient and I was. It had started to snow and I wanted to get home before the roads got icy and I told her that. When she came back to the register she said. "Cant you see I was on the phone, you did not have to be so obnoxious." I was flabbergasted. I asked for the manager. Went to smashburger on 06/08/2017 ať 9:00pm I did ordered regular burger with fries. What I received was burger with cheese no lettuce, tomato, pickles oh and fries you can count them. So when I went to manager Kristie she replied that that's what I ordered and fries I ate half of them. So please I don't need this that someone will call me liar. Just received my order from Uber eats and I honestly have to say that it was the worst thing that I've ever spent $46 on. I don't understand why they allow modifications if they are not going to pay attention to them. I asked for no condiments on my burger due to allergies, which I specified, end it was just ignored. My son couldn't even eat his food which really sucks because I was forced to order something for him elsewhere and spend even more money. My burger was completely raw and inedible. I didn't even want to feed it to my dog because of the amount that it was undercooked. When my husband called the restaurant and spoke to the manager Patrick to complain about the order, he was told off by Patrick and nothing was done about the order. We weren't asking for free food but we were asking for them to correct the issue which he refused to do. Went here for lunch recently. Place was busy. Stand on line to place your order and then they give you a number to put on your table and someone will bring the order to your table when it is ready. People were all friendly. I custom built my burger, which is a little costly. Two burgers, two sides and two shakes came to thirty bucks. My burger was delicious, and the shakes were superb. They bring you an empty glass and the silver shake container containing the shake. You cant pour the entire container into the glass so you drink some and then put in the rest. A throw back to the old soda fountain days. Nice. Tried a new side called fried pickles. Did not sound too appetizing to me, but I tried them and they were delicious. They were slices of breaded and then fried pickles. Gonna get some more next time I go. read more

About a year ago the manager and staff were so friendly, like inexplicably, unconventionally, surprisingly friendly. I went to the Smashburger in Pompton plains in September. I went with my wife and I stood in line for about a half a hour (I know sounds crazy but I did) with no one in front of me . The employee in charge of ringing people up didn't even look my way at all. I get that he was bringing out food but he didn't look my way, my wife and I just walked out I can't believe it to this day. I left a feedback on there site and the district manager Greg Alpher GAlpher@smashburger.com reach out to me via email and offered to send me free coupons to give Smashburger another chance so I listened. Mind you I never asked for the free items but I had to remind him 3 times to send it to me and when he did, the 2 free Smashburger ones were expired (I went to the Totowa Smashburger) the cashier said they expired on 9/30/19 and I got the coupons on 10/24/19. All he did was crossed out the expiration dates but the code didn't work either. From my experience the customer portion business is not their strong suit, I recommend shake shack and habit burger who have customer service and great burgers. I would like to commend the staff for applying new gloves when handling food and preparing the order. Many people think you can just wear gloves and that means clean. That is not the case. Staff was disinfecting tables and sweeping even though dine in is not available and for that I thank you. It reassures me that you are going the extra mile. A side note a door dash guy came in mask and goggles and completely closed hoodie and that made me feel like people get it we are being careful and we can still at least eat out once in while and have confidence in the people that handle our food. I would like to give 5 stars. For this I would like to see hand washing then application of gloves and masks. I realize masks aren't readily available and that maybe why they weren't used but maybe if I write it here corporate heads will see it and supply their staff with them when they become available. I came here at 1:20 and didn't get my food until 1:35. My son got his food before me and we weren't able to eat together. We got the last table in the entire restaurant. All of the open tables (about 15) were filled with food from people who had already finished eating and had left. The tables all had half eaten food and nobody cleaned it up. There were two people working other than the cooks. One employee was working the register, bringing out food, making milkshakes and refilling the drink machine. I do like Smashburger in general. The food is good and a nice value. However, I suggest that you find another location rather than this one. This one is the closest to my home but after the third visit filled with errors, I will now travel a bit futher to avoid this location. Errors included mistakes with order, on one occasion the food had to be prepared 3 different times to be correct, and missing food with take out orders.
