The dentist seems to be so busy that the numbing wears off before he comes back. He does not listen to your concerns. You pay for sedation but he goes from patient to patient and it wears off and youre wide awake and he doesnt wait until it takes affect again before he starts drilling and then has to jab it again. I never got an answer to why I was wide awake and could feel the pain and everything. Previous sedation were not like this one unless it took too long to make crowns. The front office are rude, do not communicate and blow off any concerns with some excuse that makes you feel you did something. They refused to look at my chart and tell me information in it. They've set up appointments but not allowed time for full treatment so you have to come back. They are curt and short andcyou feel shoved out the door. I just refused to reschedule due to lack of communication so there quick text was that they just closed out mine and my husbands accounts after 10 years. read more

Sharing my experience. The consultation went great, the staff listened to my concerns and were extremely thorough throughout the first visit. I felt safe and assured that I was in good hands. We scheduled the second appointment, I got there and it started out relatively the same, up until a student heard I was getting a RCT and from that point everything changed. At one point, multiple people were hovering around me as if I was an animal on display at the zoo. They did not ask my consent to be watched. The dentist was in and out and once it came time to start working on my teeth I was no longer numb. I screeched in pain and he shoved a numbing needle in my mouth that left an extensive bruise. Lastly, my procedure required antibiotics and they confirmed the pharmacy with me and NEVER sent it in. So now, I'm at risk of turning septic, their office is closed for the holiday, and I have to go to the doctor to receive medication they were supposed to send for. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Save yourself the pain and embarrassment. read more

WOW!!! I have almost never seen a more neurotic, more unfit, more personality-disordered medical "professional" in my life than Dr. Aaron Cohenour. Look up Smile Arts Dental in Yukon on Google and read all his COMPULSIVE, defensive, audacious, tacky, rude replies to everyone who dares to leave him a 1 star review. When patients use aliases, he attempts to either discredit them or he will determine who they really are by the content of their review and will attack them and publish their real name in his reply, disclosing their private information and, in one case, even insinuating that a patient was a recreational drug user and that they "thrashed and bit" the provider, which I found extreeeemely improbable and even more disturbing on the part of Cohenour. I haven't yet left them a Google review - though I plan to! - but I do intend to report him to the Board for potential HIPPA violations and for behavior concerns. He is very clearly an angry, unhappy, compulsive, disordered individual, which is absolutely not someone you want performing medical procedures on you or your children, or administering drugs to you. Dr. Tung Nguyen has earned his bad reviews, too. He is, at best, a below average dentist. He doesn't listen to patients, does really subpar work, causes pain and nerve damage/permanent numbness to patients where none existed before, and, the biggest complaint, takes payment for IV sedation but allows patients to wake up in the middle of painful procedures, accuses them of "fighting it" - how do you do that when you're unconscious??? - and will not put them back out, apparently even when they are screaming in pain. It reeks of trying to save money on drug replenishment at a cost of patient pain and trauma. This was the case of the girl Cohenour accused in his Google reply of being on "recreational drugs" and "thrashing and biting". He was careful in his wording to not directly accuse that patient, but he purposefully stated that "sedation can be less effective on patients who use recreational drugs", knowing full well exactly how that sounded to readers. If I had found the many terrible reviews about Cohenour and Nguyen before my $x,xxx procedure, I would NEVER have set foot in that place. Now, after I declined to return after my initial unpleasant visits, with the tooth pain and nerve damage they have caused me to have to live with ever since, I was informed that I have been "dismissed from the practice" for "slander". Clearly, they don't know the meaning of the word slander, which is a spoken lie. Not the truth about a bad experience. A *LIE*. And if someone spread lies about another, especially if it was damaging to their livelihood, that would be a legal tort. So why isn't he suing??? He isn't suing BECAUSE HE CAN'T. Because sharing a bad experience with a business isn't slander, haha. Welcome to the millennium, Cohenour!! This is the age we live in. If you don't like bad reviews about you, if you don't want people knowing how poorly you run your clinic, how awful a person you are, how badly you treat people, how compulsive you are, and how poor and damaging the work is that your clinic provides, then DO BETTER! Interestingly, I did see in the Google reviews that the word "slander" seems to be a favorite of Cohenour, who made the same accusation to at least one other patient in his replies. He tells patients how "fed up" he is with "people like [them]"! He verbally attacks, insults, embarrasses, and makes false insinuations about patients. Others have commented about his compulsion to monitor and attack reviewers who aren't complimentary to him. That very much speaks to his pathological insecurity and his critical personality flaws; I would sure HATE to be his wife. read more

After 12 years of not going to the dentist, I couldn't put it off any longer and needed a root canal. The team at Smile Art was fantastic and took great care to make sure I was comfortable and at ease with that they were doing. I've been going to Smile Arts Dental for the past 4 years. I originally started going to them based on their proximity to my house and the fact that they offered extended hours (7am-7pm) once a week. I've stayed with them because of the wonderful service I've received! I've had procedures with them and got the conscious sedation they offer which was way better than multiple shots to numb the area. I also got clear correct through them and was very pleased with the results. I've been to both Dr. Cohenor and Dr. Guffey and like them both. They are very professional and also personable. They explain everything if i need anything done. They also offer water, coffee and snacks in case you have a wait. Highly recommend this office! read more

A relative who doesn't speak English well came in and was confused by his treatment, came back with a translator to try to understand payments and scheduling because the dr recommended a cleaning and implant but they scheduled fillings, root canal, and crowns first instead, and there wasn't even a cleaning on his treatment plan. I guess the office manager couldn't handle the questions so had another lady come in and dismiss him from the office. Mind you this was barely a 15 minute conversation, just to understand and break a communication barrier that occurred. Definitely could have been handled with more compassion and kindness. Unfortunately I'm required to give them 1 star. I went to SmileArts 1 year ago. I had my remaining teeth pulled and 3 implants for snap in dentures with bone grafts put in. I paid cash, it was nearly $10,000. The day of surgery a man I didn't know walked in with his back to me, grabbed my IV and I woke up walking to my daughter's car. I looked in her car mirror at my new teeth and my front teeth were now beside my nose. I begged them to fix them and they agreed but I had to wait there for them to have time. I waited several hours after 12-14 extractions with no pain meds for them to find time to fix it. I was finally called back and the same man, I still haven't met, argued with me about why dentures aren't suppose to stay in your mouth!!! He said use fixodent....the day of surgery, with a mouth full of stitches. I did get it on video, after 45 minutes of him yelling and arguing with me and my daughter, she turned on her camera. According to the nurse, it was my fault my teeth were crooked because I didn't "cooperate" when she was lining them because I WAS UNCONSCIOUS!! It's been a year of pure hell. I've been battling infection after infection, one of the 3 implants came out, the other 2 have to be surgically removed due to bone infection and bone loss. I paid nearly $10,000, I have no teeth, no dentures, infection, and bone loss. AND THEY SENT ME BILL FOR $4,600!!! They won't send my medical records but they can send a bill?! read more

This is my first review ever on Yelp and I felt like this is very important to share. I was referred to this office by Dr. Daniel Kratzer, orthodontics, because my 9 year old needed a baby tooth pulled. Smile Arts got me in right away but my daughter was seen by Dr Sahar Chavili. To make this short, she pulled on my daughter's tooth, my baby began to cry because of the pain/pressure she was feeling. Dr Sahar gave her more numbing medicine, but waiting about 5 mins then began to pull again. My daughter began to cry and panic. I told her to stop because now there is blood, my daughter who is usually a trooper is upset and the tooth is not coming out. Instead of the Sahar Chavili addressing me on what's happening, she throws her tools down and walked off to work on another patient. Now I'm upset because she portrayed a careless attitude on what she just did to my daughter. My baby is left with a numb and sore mouth. Tooth is still there. Now she is traumatized by this unprofessional doctor. I'm highly disappointed in the lack of her professionalism period. Do not see Sahara Chavili. read more

Six months ago I went in for a crown replacement. The hygienist complained the whole time about her motorcycle getting wet in the rain and how her husband was going to be mad at her. She was not paying attention and messed up my crown. It broke twice during the procedure. They all became frustrated at me (as if I had some sort of control over the process). I was on the gas for over an hour while they kept trying to 3D print and fix the crown. Finally they brought in a different hygienist and she redid everything. I was getting nauseous from being on the gas so long and decided to pull off the mask so I could breathe. Before I left, I made a return appointment. Then today, on my 6 month return appointment, I showed up on time and was told they canceled my appointment and turned me away because I didn't respond to the text reminders. I told them I never received a reminder. That's when they checked my phone number and realized they had typed my number wrong into their system. Instead of making it right, they told me they couldn't get me in unless I wanted to wait several hours, which I did not. I took off work for this appointment. My family has been going to this dentist for several years. However, the caliber of care and customer service has degraded tremendously. They have absolutely terrible customer service. My husband called the office manager and she was unapologetic about it and just gave excuses. My whole family is leaving this dental practice and moving to a new dentist with 5 stars! read more

We've had great care in the past but my 18 y.o. soon had his wisdom teeth out and some fillings today. I picked up his prescriptions at the pharmacy and got home only to find that all he had for pain was ibuprofen 800 mg. I gave it to him hoping it would be enough and wondered why they didn't give anything stronger for pain but assumed (wrongly) that the opioid crisis had affected what they could prescribe. an hour and a half later he was sobbing in pain. when I called the office I was told he should have had hydrocodone and was told the pharmacy must have missed it. just a few minutes later got a text that he had a prescription ready. I raced to pick it up and get back because there is no torture for a mother like watching your child hyperventilating and crying from pain. I went in loaded for bear and asked to see the pharmacy manager to complain and find out why it had taken almost 3 hours to fill when they knew he just had his wisdom teeth out and would need the pain management. They showed me where the prescription was never received until AFTER I called the dentist office and was filled within minutes. So not only did someone at Smile Arts NOT send it in before we left their office, they then lied and blamed it on the pharmacy. I'm livid that my kid spent time in massive pain from dental surgery with only ibuprofen, but that I was also misled about what happened and why. After our 1 week follow up we will be finding a new dentist as I will never be able to trust what they tell me again. All this on top of caring for my grandmother who is on hospice and dying right now. You've lost us as patients. Buyer beware. If you go here, triple check everything they tell you and verify with the pharmacy that the prescriptions they say have been called in actually have been and save yourself or your loved one this kind of pain. read more

I was trying to find a dentist closer to me. I went to this dentist for an annual check-up. They are very nice, and the dental hygienist tried not to hurt me. Overall the actual exam went pretty good. The dentist told me I needed 4 or 5 cavities filled. I went back to my old dentist for a second opinion. She told me she had marked two spots in my file last year, but they were not any worse. She did not recommend having any fillings at the time. I honestly don't think he was lying to me. He just has a different way of doing dentistry. If you want a dentist who is very proactive, then this would be a good dentist for you. I prefer a more conservative approach to dentistry, so I won't personally be back. read more
