I always loved going to the smile center. I am so afraid of the dentist and everyone their made me feel so comfortable. I have been going there for over 20 years. When Dr Kent let, I was very upset. Every time I get use to someone, they leaves. Saturday night my cap fell off and I contacted the smile center hoping they could just put it back in. When I got there, there was a new Dr there. She came in looked at my mouth and said" oh no that cant be fixed". Now I am already on edge being at the dentist and the Dr respond through me off. I instantly was not feeling her spirits. I was quoted a high bill to have the tooth fixed and a replacement tooth. I wasn't expecting not having the tooth put back in which was a root canal tooth and I surely wasn't expecting another Dr which could've been more caring. I am use to the workers being caring and she wasn't. I was offered a payment plan which was over $1000, and the uncaring Dr....No thank you....Now I have to find someone else to take my insurance and cater to those who are afraid of the dentist. I so appreciate the smile center for putting up with me over the years, but they don't take my insurance and they need another Dr onboard. read more

This place is the absolute worst. the dentist does not know what the fuck he is doing. he fucked up my front tooth by trying to make it thicker. Did not match the color correctly. I went to Smile Center because of my fear of going to the dentist. I had a few basic fillings that turned into 2 extractions and I was so afraid of getting them done. I made my appt at Smile center and they sent me a prescription and instructions how and when to take the medicine. Dr. Kent explained everything he was gonna do before doing it and he helped me feel very comfortable. Time seemed to go by very fast. I was in no pain. The whole process was very easy. Needless to say, I was completely relaxed and my anxiety was gone! When I was finished I could not believe It. I was so happy I had got it done and I couldn't believe I sat thru it and I was fine the whole time. Thank you Dr. Kent and Thank you Smile Center! You made my experience great. read more

How do you know when it is time to go to the dentist? When it's tooth hurty!! (2:30).....so funny, I know. If you want squeaky clean teeth, massing dental chairs, happy hygienists, and a convenient location then I highly suggest coming to The Smile Center. A few weeks ago I had noticed that I had a small cavity brewing on one of my molars. Before it grew to be a fierce black hole I decided to make an appointment with a local dentist. I started my search by looking at places near my home. When I came across The Smile Center I was so pleased. Their website was very informative and had many options for patients without dental coverage (me). They offer an in house dental insurance program for $99. This cost includes 2 cleanings, x-ray, examinations, 2 fluoride treatments, and 15% off other dental work. I was so excited when I saw this plan because all of the other local places were charging a lot more for an exam and a cleaning. I called and spoke with a really nice receptionist named Chelsea who was able to get me in the same day! I definitely didn't mind leaving work early because I was so concerned about my first cavity. When I walked in I was greeted with so many smiling faces at the reception desk. I filled out a few forms and was ready to meet with my hygienist. Her name was Brie and she was so funny and she made my experience comfortable and pleasurable...as pleasurable as a dental cleaning can be anyway. She took my x-rays and did the cleaning and fluoride treatment before I met with Dr.Kent. He verified that I did indeed have a small cavity. I was so bummed but I knew it would get taken care of. Brie was able to get me in for a filling within one week. When I came back in I had a great conversation with Tiffany while I was waiting for the Novocaine to kick in. I could have sworn that I was drooling at one point but I was assured that I was not but, I digress. It only took about 15-20 minutes to complete and it was virtually painless. I definitely look forward to my 6 month cleaning because I felt valued as a patient and the process was so quick and easy. To be honest... I was convinced that I was making a great decision to go to The Smile Center with Dr. Kent after going to consultations with 3 different dentists. The Smile Center was the only one that didn't accept my insurance. Still, I thought I was in good hands enough to pay him $9500 on my credit cards to have a surgery done. It was only afterwards that I found new info that he left out. Changes I'll go through and waiting to do a different surgery would have been MUCH more beneficial to me.... He was only interested in the money, not the patient. Not to mention, on my first checkup visit afterwards, he told me that I crashed during the surgery (flatlined... Dead) and didn't tell my fiance in the waiting room... You're free to go where you want to, but take this advice with you while you search for a good dentist. Good luck. read more

So I showed up for a scheduled appointment and they hand me some new policy sheet. I have been a patient here for a long time, so I decline to sign this sheet. They immediately tell me they can't see me today and as if it was nothing, they discuss how to close my account right in front of me and send me packing. It all happened so fast that I didn't really have time to process what was going on. No discussion. Just see ya, goodbye. This new policy had a bunch of stuff on it, but only one thing was highlighted, their $50 cancellation fee. Maybe I have a policy of charging for not being seen when I show up for my appointment. What is your time worth? Here's what really makes no sense, if you pay for their "smile plan", then the cleanings are free. So why have a $50 fee for missing a free cleaning? read more

Absolutely terrible office "policy" that kicks you out of the practice if you miss or reschedule 3 appointments. I missed one (I was in the hospital having my son) & I had to reschedule 2 others for life reasons. I always paid my bills, never missed a payment & technically only missed ONE appointment in 2 years. I'm the ONLY person that takes care of my son & I work 40+ hours a week. The Smile Center likes to judge before getting facts. If you have an absolutely perfect life and nothing ever goes wrong, this place is perfect for you. I found this dental practice to be unhelpful and inept when it comes to cosmetic dentistry. In addition, Dr. Kent was paternalistic and arrogant. I would recommend avoiding this place altogether for cosmetic dentistry and visiting an orthodontist instead. read more

This is the worst dentist office I've been to in my life. The one and only doctor they working there is 150 years old, he is so unfriendly, and his hands shake the entire time he's working on you. Idk what kind of novocaine they use but I went blind temporarily, and was seeing stars after they gave it to me, and didn't get feeling in my entire face for several hours after just one cavity needed to be filled. Dr. Kent has handled my dental needs for more than 30 years. He is gentle, kind, and profesional. My recent visit on Dec 3, 2020 was evaluation. Had cleaning with Mary Monday, Dec 7 and it was great, Wonderful office staff, Very clean and safe environment. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I prepaid for a procedure in cash because insurance wouldn't cover it. I had a credit of almost $400 that they refused to refund it until all the fittings and procedures were finished--these parts were covered by insurance. Now that all I don't need to go back there for service, the financial person told me "they forgot to charge me for tissue conditioning" that WAS NEVER DONE. So I was charged for a service upfront, never given said service, then denied my refund. It was $219 for top and $219 for bottom--they made the mistake TWICE for not billing me. All she did was look at the estimate and then what they billed me for to see what was missing, then she said "oh we did that". Really convenient that it wasn't the case before my services were finished...only after. Must be just a coincidence that while I still needed work done, it would no problem to give me credit when work is finished, but when I'm done and not a paying customer anymore, the credit disappears. read more

This past year with this office has been a nightmare. First, they had me remove half of my teeth, and got my insurance to authorize partials, which was NEVER PART OF THE PLAN & NEVER DISCUSSED WITH ME. Making my insurance assume there was some sort of fraud going on, & they DROPPED ME!! Luckily I was able to fix it, and I allowed Dr Kent to convince me to have the rest of my teeth removed, and let him make me dentures. I had the teeth pulled, and the weekend before my first visit to start the dentures, I ended up in the hospital. I missed my Monday appointment, but I called them the next day (Tues), & was told to come in the following Monday, but I needed to bring proof I was hospitalized. No problem...but Friday I received a letter saying that they will no longer treat me. The letter is postmarked 12/13, so it was sent after I spoke to them!! And now, while I am trying to get dentures made somewhere else, my insurance shows that I HAVE DENTURES...MADE BY DR KENT!!! I have no idea if I will be able to get teeth this YEAR. That office is an unprofessional mess. I heard Dr Kent and some woman arguing in the hall about how what they were doing was going to mess up my insurance. I should have walked out then. But so much had been done, and still needed to be done, that I was afraid to start over with a new dentist...but that's exactly what I have had to do. That office is awful. Tried this office because they advertise gentle dentistry and such. Went there had some work done. ended up having one of the most unpleasant experiences I've ever had at a dental office. Also still having shooting pain in my jaw and face since the dental work was completed. Had to go to another dentist to fix what this dentist should've done right the first time.. The only nice things about this place are the receptionists and hygienists. I'll admit that I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to needles, but Dr. Kent makes little to no effort to reduce pain, and can barely do a filling for crap. Very terrible never kept with appointments I'll go there just to sign paper work at 12 and they won't take me until 1. I was going to get teeth pulled one visit and it was terrible they gave me the pills to take an hour before to get loopy and when I went in they didn't call me until 30 minutes after the nurse was very rude because I was very scared and she kept trying to argue with me, I was loopy and crying and she was no help didn't even get the teeth pulled. Don't do it! I spent over 2 years as their patient- I loved the hygienists and I think that is why I kept coming back. I spent over $12k in dental work- 3 bridges?? Within 2 weeks they fell out twice. In the following years I think they fell out 4 more times. I thought that since he did my original work that I had to continue to go there for that issue. My last visit I was blamed for a multiple of things 1) not getting my teeth cleaned on a regular basis (mind you I had over 25 visits over these years), 2) drinking and eating sugary items- coffee, coke, candy and I don't smoke - well if the dentist would have paid attention to what I was saying he would have known that he needed to figure out another reason. So on this very last appointment - I sat in the chair attempting to explain to him that not only is the bridge loose again but I now had a hole where my upper bridge met my normal tooth, in which he could not see, yet his hygienist did (I could fit my tongue in it).... he became agitated and very short with me. Stating that I needed all of my teeth pulled out and insert both upper and lowered dentures! Which of course he informed me that it would cost A LOT OF MONEY! The next day I went to one if the best dentists in WNY and even though he is out of network I didn't care- I needed a second opinion that I could trust. No-I do not need dentures, No- the bridges falling out was not my fault. BUT the $12,000 that I continue to pay on a monthly basis and will continue to pay for another 2 years I'm stuck with! So- in my personal experience, stay away. I also wonder if it is truly legal to charge a patient to print a paper script $67 that you have to pickup at the office only to than have to pay your insurance copay for the 2 pills prescribed? Today was my surgery day with my new amazing dental team - and already know that I will have a beautiful smile. Just think what I could have done with the money I wasted at Smile Center? read more
