We weren't happy with that practice for many reasons, and Altman Dental was recommended to us by many families that we are friends with. He sees me and my husband and even my 9 year old! I just came here to say that I always have a great experience with the front desk ladies, while I'm in the chair Dr. Altman is conversational and is humorous and informative and explains what's happening as he's doing it. Today the first step of my implant has started and I needed this tooth pulled. It was a great experience! I don't doubt that he will check on me later. Now that the novocaine has worn off and I can properly feel my teeth, the side that was deep cleaned feels cleaner than I can ever remember, and even though I knew it took a whole lot of work, was totally painless. When Dr Kent let, I was very upset. Every time I get use to someone, they leaves. Saturday night my cap fell off and I contacted the smile center hoping they could just put it back in. When I got there, there was a new Dr there. She came in looked at my mouth and said" oh no that cant be fixed". Now I am already on edge being at the dentist and the Dr respond through me off. I instantly was not feeling her spirits. I was quoted a high bill to have the tooth fixed and a replacement tooth. I wasn't expecting not having the tooth put back in which was a root canal tooth and I surely wasn't expecting another Dr which could've been more caring. I am use to the workers being caring and she wasn't. I was offered a payment plan which was over $1000, and the uncaring Dr....No thank you....Now I have to find someone else to take my insurance and cater to those who are afraid of the dentist. I so appreciate the smile center for putting up with me over the years, but they don't take my insurance and they need another Dr onboard.

I wasn't in any pain, but I needed a root canal and this office is in-network for both my GEHA and Cigna dental insurance plans. The office is located on Main St. in Williamsville. You turn onto S. Long St. and you'll see that it's on the tail-end of the building. The signage isn't super obvious, so keep an eye out. And they do have parking spaces for you. Check-in was quick and simple. The front office (Lisa) had already called my general dentist to get the tooth and insurance information. So, I filled out a couple standard forms and was almost immediately called in to be seen. The root canal went perfectly, as far as I can tell. It was near painless during the procedure and I have yet to experience much discomfort afterwards. What more can you ask for? It did seem like my tooth presented a couple surprises and took awhile (as is typical), but Dr. Shostad kept me at ease the whole time. Her and her assistant (Jacky) have a great chemistry. I felt like I was getting a personal comedy show and it was hilarious...Dr. Shostad the comic and Jacky the straight man. Hey, hopefully you don't need an endodontist anytime soon...but, this is definitely the place to go if you do. :-)
