He is the ultimate professional, kind, caring, gentle, extremely knowledgeable, and above all he puts his patients first. He will do everything possible to save your teeth and to me, that's what it's all about. His staff are very kind and compassionate and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at ease. I had a horrible experience at this dental office and I don't recommend it…read more I believe this was my dental office for a year. I had come here a couple of times for a cleaning and some x rays complaining of tooth pain. There was a specific doctor I had seen on this particular day for tooth pain. I don't remember her name and she didn't work much longer at this dental office after this incident happened. I went in for tooth pain on this particular day. When I got to the office, they did a visual check of the area where the tooth was that was in question. I couldn't pin point exactly which tooth but had an idea. It turns out, I was correct on which tooth was causing the pain. The technician took an x-ray and brought me back to the room to wait for the dentist to look at my x-ray. *I didn't see the x-ray that day! The dentist didn't ask or offer me to look and I didn't think to ask. The computer was behind my head. The dentist proceeded to tell me she didn't see anything on the x-ray and saw no visible signs of decay or anything unusual. She told me to come back in 2 WEEKS if the pain persisted or didn't get better. Welp, 2 DAYS later, I woke up with serious pain and swelling of the right side of my face! The side where the tooth was in question. I scanned around the left side of my mouth with my tongue to discover something that felt like a PLUMP BLUEBERRY! Oh, of course it's Saturday and I have school all day! I called the dentist and said I needed to be seen right away and explained the situation. They saw me in 30 min with a different dentist and she informed me I had a tooth abscess and they needed to drain it immediately. It was so tender, swollen and painful they could barley numb me to drain it! It took quite awhile and a lot of pain!! I asked why the previous dentist didn't catch the start of this 2 days earlier. She said it's not always possible to see the start of an abscess. We looked at the x-ray together and quickly discovered the tooth in question was not even in the x-ray that was taken!! The technician didn't get all the way to the back of my mouth and the tooth that has the abscess wasn't included in the x-ray! Why the first dentist didn't catch this is beyond me! I was livid! I said, well there's no way to know if it could've been caught because the tooth isn't even in the x-ray. They ended up waiving the emergency fee and charged me for the draining of the abscess and a couple other things. With that being said, I was charged some other fee or a higher fee than normal for this procedure because it was an emergency visit. Insert eye roll. Oh and insurance only covered part of it because it was an emergency visit. Insert another eye roll. Anyways, I kept coming to this dental office as long as the new dentist I saw would be my dentist. I had a root canal done, maybe 2. Don't judge me. She was great, but I could not stand the receptionists and BILLING! After almost every visit, i'd receive a bill in the mail saying I owed more money even though I paid what they said I owed at my appt. Please, get it togethe

I have been to Choice 1 about 20 times, mostly for routine cleanings…read more Once they fixed a broken filling, which was done without any fuss or complications. I have no experience with more complex procedures. Surprisingly, the cleanings have been consistently non-painful compared to other offices. When I sit in the chair, I can actually relax. It is almost like going to a spa. Once when they were short-handed, the dentist did the cleaning herself. I jokingly complimented her on cleaning as well as her hygienists. She said that she trains her staff in some techniques. Maybe that is part of the magic. They are almost always on time. Rarely I have had to wait at most 10 or 20 minutes. No big deal. The dentist running the business, Vasuki Thevanayagam is not just a good dentist, but also a good businesswoman. It appears she hires the right people. She is not above answering the phone when her staff is busy. She realizes customer service involves more than just quality dental procedures. The pricing and billing is correct. They do not attempt to up-sale me with unnecessary expensive procedures. No made-up problems, such as claiming there is a cavity when there actually is none. Every time I go there, nothing bad happens. No rude employees, no upset patients, no disasters, no drama. Just a nicely boring regular dental office where everything works as it should.

We weren't happy with that practice for many reasons, and Altman Dental was recommended to us by many families that we are friends with. He sees me and my husband and even my 9 year old! I just came here to say that I always have a great experience with the front desk ladies, while I'm in the chair Dr. Altman is conversational and is humorous and informative and explains what's happening as he's doing it.
