I moved here from Singapore 3 months ago. Tried 2 dental clinics before this one. They both had high ratings but I was not satisfied. I trust my intuition. I called this one and talked with Jesse on the phone. She was very friendly and was able to get me in quickly. My first impression of this clinic was clean and well maintained. There were flowers and big balloons on Jesse's desk, that was the gift from clinic owner Dr. Phen for Jesse's birthday. Nice! First consultation with Dr.Phen went smooth. She is a beautiful young lady but very professional. They have several in house hygienists not the tempary ones. So I scheduled with Nicole right away. Second visit was my deep cleaning appointment. I was nervous when I walked in. There were flowers and big balloons in Nicole's station, it was her birthday gifts. Very nice working environment! The whole deep cleaning process was NOT painful at all, no needle injection for anesthetic ( other 2 clinics all said they will inject), my mouth was not swollen and I walked out of clinic perfectly normal. I originally left a 5-star review because my first visits here were genuinely great. The staff was kind, helpful, and made me feel comfortable despite my dental anxiety. Over time, though, my experience changed a lot. During my last two visits, I felt rushed and more like a number than a patient. A dental student was shadowing, and it often felt like more attention was being given to teaching than to actually communicating with me. Getting clear answers about billing was also much harder than it should have been. The filling done at my last visit was left with such a jagged edge that it was cutting my tongue when I got home, and I ended up smoothing it myself just to make it tolerable. After I informed the office about my prior reaction to Septocaine involving throat swelling, I was left feeling like my care had become more of a complication than a priority. I was also charged more than my insurance showed I owed for completed treatment. After calling numerous times and then emailing a full breakdown of the overpayment on 4/15, I still did not receive a meaningful response or resolution. I ultimately had to file a grievance with my insurance. My dental work was time-sensitive, so I chose to continue care elsewhere. I was scheduled for a dental appointment on November 19, 2025 at noon, and I had already completed the patient intake paperwork to bring with me. However, when I spoke with the billing department, Lisa informed me that my husband and I only have medical coverage through MetLife and no dental coverage. We do not have any medical insurance through MetLife, so this information is entirely inaccurate. This experience was a frustrating misuse of time and energy. The practice needs team members who understand the insurance process and can provide accurate information. Accuracy matters because it directly impacts the patient experience and, ultimately, the business. read more

DR. Phen is awesome. If she had her own office I would definitely go there. That being said, I can't say the same for this dental practice. First of all, when I questioned the nasty lady I assume was the office manager about a problem with my partial dentures, she said I had signed off on them, so I was stuck with them. Then I got a price for a single tooth extraction and one bridge. The price was 1300 and I agreed to this and signed for it to be done. After waiting for a while, they gave me another price for the extraction and bridge that was twice as much do to an "error". Had they given me the 2600 price first, I would have agreed to it, but the bait and switch pissed me off. And it's not the first time they did this to me. Patient Beware!!!! I was looking for a new dentist and I thought they could be it, Absolutely not!!!! They try pushing you to make appointments to get stuff done that's not necessary. They told me I needed over Three Thousand dollars worth of work along with wanting to treat me for orthodontics work knowing I have a established Orthodontist I've been seeing over 25 years. Dentist who lie and are crooks should be shut down and reported!!!! I got a second opinion at another dentist that my family members go to and there's nothing wrong with my teeth and I don't need 3 crowns or different retainers. I would stay away from this practice!!!!!!!! If I could rate them Zero Stars I would along with the office manager trying to push appointments on you!!! I was told my records would be sent over to my new dentist and of course they never sent my records!!! Please don't be taken advantage of by Ashley the office manager or this company!!!! read more

I came here after I wasnt happy with my last dentist. I have an anxiety disorder and very,overly sensitive teeth. The carefulness in handling my needs was exemplary,exceeding my expectations and deserve recognition. Specifically, Dr.Hanna,assisted by Angela. Those two are my dental dream team. I've just completed one of several visits to get my dental health in order. After having multiple visits, I can honestly say their passion for detail and knowledge far outshine what other offices have done. Going beyond expectation every time. Educating me on dental hygiene,taking the journey with me,while making sure I'm completely calm and comfortable the entire time. I was worried about going to an office during Covid but was pleasantly surprised here. Waiting room numbers are kept small,masks on,temperature checked,hand sanitizer readily available and the office is very clean. So don't push off your visit. You'll be glad you came in. I've been previously going to Smile Design on Bee Ridge, but will not be going back after today's experience. This is the first time I've ever come across this "company policy" they mentioned, and I've been going to them for a year now with already multiple visits. They send text reminders of your appointment and ask to confirm or cancel. What they don't tell you is that if you don't respond to these reminders that they will "PUSH YOU TO THE SIDE" (their exact words), meaning let people take your time slot and basically reschedule you without informing you. I did not cancel my appointment once. I simply did not respond to their reminders because I was preoccupied. I'm in my thirties and have not once experienced this with any doctors or professional practices. I am disappointed because I did have an amazing hygienist that I was working with (and one not so great experience with another one there). Over all, I will not be going back. I just had my semi-annual teeth cleaning with Nicole, and have nothing but good things to say about her care, and the practice in general. They are always on time, and efficient. Dr. Hanna is also amazing. Highly recommend! read more
