I set up an event with Smile for the Birdie to entertain 30 teenage Girl Scouts while on a trip to Long Beach. Joe worked with us to ensure his insurance policy met the strict Girl Scouts requirements. He was very professional and showed up early to the event prepared and excited to get going. The whole team worked to make the event fabulous for each girl in attendance. The girls and adult leaders all had a wonderful time meeting the birds and getting to hold, and even kiss, the birds. I Highly recommend this as an event for all ages, especially teenagers. Every single scout with us participated and enjoyed the experience. Walking along the waterfront, my family was looking for something to do while we waited for our entry time to the Aquarium of the Pacific (this review is during COVID-19, so the Aquarium only lets people in according to their reserved time). Anyway, our walk lead us to "Smile for the Birdie", and after seeing the gorgeous birds, my kids just HAD to get a picture with them. We patiently waited for our turn as the person running the shop educated us a bit about some of his birds. When it was our kids' turn, the person was very nice to them while providing them detailed instructions on how to pose and act around the birds. He was a super cool guy, with a totally laid back attitude (totally matched the island hut vibe going on). It was a really fun experience, and we now have a really GREAT photo to hang on our wall. read more

He had a special for $35 to get the package of 3 photos (one kind) versus other days it's $35 for just 1 picture. The process of taking the picture was pretty fast but don't expect the greatest quality print, it's mostly just for memories. The blue and white parrots were so charming and hilarious!
