I have been a patient of Smile Sun City for approximately 8 yrs. I went this morning for my 6 month cleaning. I have never had a worse cleaning. I felt like I had a beginner student or a very untrained technician poking at my gums. The music was so loud I couldn't hear what he was telling me to do even though he was 4 inches from my right ear. I thought dentists tried to make the environment as pleasant as possible for patients. Not this office. I have seen very negative changes over the last couple of years and today was the worst. read more

I'm 72 and so are my teeth, but I can eat corn cob, apple and steaks. My teeth don't give me problems, but when I'm getting my teeth cleaned I'm perpetually pushed to get work done that I don't care to do. I hate to complain, but yesterday when I got my teeth cleaned I was afraid that what seemed to be an unsupervised student was going to damage my teeth! It was bad! She let me know that if she hit a sensitive spot to let her know. I know it happens, but she was pretty heavy handed and I experienced physical discomfort several times. She even got her dental pick stuck between my front teeth. I was sure she was going to chip my tooth. The dentist never came in to examine her work and she made my next appointment and quickly ushered me to the door quickly passing the front desk. I think she was afraid I'd complain. I had to sit in the parking lot for 5 minutes before I left. I've been going there for several years and the first few years there was a sense of professionalism. Seems to have evaporated and I won't be going back. read more

First of all don't pay the first or even the second bill you get fro them. Their accounting dep. is totally SCREWED up. We have Delta dental and these screwballs first sent us a bill for hundreds of dollars for just the x rays and when confronted at the front desk the girls go "oh that's not a bill" and I said then why was it sent out - they really had no idea other to say that their name had changed. I then went to my appointment for deep cleaning and afterwards they present me with a bill for over $400 and I asked if this was after my ins deduction and they said yes. then I get my Delta Dental statement showing I should have been charged more than $100 LESS. Christina, the insurance and billing person is horrible and childish. She refused to tell how much I needed to pay for each part of the implant process and per tooth. The dentist did not want to do just one tooth first, he wanted to do at least 4. Then, she would not let me pay for the 1st work, extraction and bone work only.She demanded I pay for the whole tooth including the implant and crown and temporary when it would be at least 4 months until we dealt with them NEVER again!!!! read more

Amy. You are correct. There was a confrontation between myself and the office manager. It had to do with charges that she stated she would look into and to this date not a word. Maybe it's time to acknowledge that this particular office manager does not exhibit behavior conducive to a professional environment. Lines didn't get crossed. She indirectly called me a liar, in the office and in front of her colleges and other patients. As you can see from the last 10 reviews posted, 9 are one star rating. Maybe the un-fireable office manager needs re-evaluation. read more

They only deserve 0.2 of a star. "Dr. D###" only cares for $$$ and not his patients. Also he was really rude.

I should have viewed the ratings but I broke a tooth and was in a hurry to get it fixed. I have a Medicare Advantage plan and I knew the crown was covered but the girl at the front told me it would take 2-3 weeks to get the crown approved. It took less than 2 days but I was the one who did her job and called insurance and found out it had been approved. I tried to make an appt before I had to wait another week but they insisted on having proof faxed before they would even make the appt. WHY did they have me sign a financial paper guaranteeing payment if they would not even allow me to make the appt? I should not have had to do their job. If I cant get past the front office I dont care to meet the dentist. I called Mark Lidners office and got right in the office is professional and the dentist is great. Sun West Dental in Sun City is by far the most fraudulent dentist office out there. They charged me $670 for a deep cleaning which I only received on one side of my mouth. The other side was just a regular cleaning. They want to piece meal the charges now. They want to charge me separately for irrigation while cleaning.....another 137.00 dollars. They won't give me a receipt or record of any kind. I have good insurance and they say they have paid over forty percent of the costs but Sun West will not acknowledge the payments. This office owes me back at least three hundred dollars. They are fraudulently charging people and will not give anything on paper to show it! Run from them.....they are awful. read more

I started going there in May after I had both COVID vaccines and waiting the 2 weeks for antibodies. First time there, I wasn't impressed with the staff, but Dr. Juriansz seemed nice enough. After having a bad tooth prepped for a temporary crown I was handed a treatment plan with all the prices and had to prepay my portion of that crown which was $710.00 plus I had to prepay $150 just to book an appointment for a deep gum cleaning. Athena, the hygienist, was kind and never hurt my gums. I then made 2 more appointments to have the other half of my mouth done and another crown put on. I woke up with a stomach virus on Memorial Day so in the throws of that I didn't think about the appointment scheduled for next day . I got a txt reminder on Tuesday morning so I called immediately to explain how sick I was and told the girl on the phone that I would reschedule as soon as I felt better. All she said was " I just want to remind you that there is a $50 charge for same day cancellations". I said there's no way someone can know 48 hours in advance if they are going to wake up sick to their stomach and she should cancel my other appointments ". So after 3 days of ice chips I ended up dehydrated and went to the ER. I got a reminder that I have an appointment on Monday the 7th. I called to cancel it since she didn't. Again she asked if I wanted to reschedule. I told her "no , I will not be going back ever". Also reminded her that she never once said "I'm sorry to hear that or anything nice. No empathy or caring about patients so if the doctor only cares about the money I will find a new dentist ". If you don't mind spending lots of money with people who don't care about you as a patient then you will be ok with them. read more

If I could give a negative star I would. Run, not walk from this dentist. I had a crown fall off so made an appointment. He literally ground a tiny notch in my crown claiming it had food stuck in it (it didn't) and proceeded to put it on crooked on purpose. Handed me a mirror and said "see this dark spot, you need a new crown". It never had a dark area before he touched it! Wanted me to come back for prep for a new crown and a bunch of other stuff telling me to be prepared to stay up to 2 hours. That did not include a cleaning. I had a funny feeling about him so got a second opinion. Sure enough there was nothing wrong with my crown other than the tiny notch he ground in it and my new dentist put it back on and surprise, surprise, no dark area! I will now need a new crown in the future because of the notch this crook put in my crown since my post tooth will now have a little bit of exposure. Funny how this dentist has no photos and not one single review even though he's been practicing for 14 years. How is that possible. Run.... read more

Again I've had 2 teeth capped and the office girls have not processed the claims correctly. This has happen before and they always have an excuse. The first time this happen I went into the office, the office staff stated they had the exact rejection letter of benefit from United health care and would fix it. The office help stated "United Health Care Dental requires more submission paperwork, xrays, to approve claims" I asked them if you know that to be true then way don't you do it right the first time. They just looked at me and stated will fix it. So today when I received 2 rejection of benefits I went thru the roof. I'm filing a vendor complaint with my insurance company. Friendly staff doesn't make up for incompetence. read more

We found this dentist from an online source, (Sunwest Dental, Sun City AZ, Dr Juriansz). My wife was having right jaw pain from a tooth or teeth on the lower right side. She was told that she would need a root canal on tooth #30. This tooth had already been prepped for a crown, temporary crown placed and permanent crown ordered by a previous dental group which had been previously paid for. A root canal on #30 was done and he also did another impression and put on another temporary crown and ordered another permanent crown. So, we had paid for two crown preps, temporary crowns and permanent crowns for the same tooth. He never consulted with the previous dentist about the work done, despite knowing that a temporary crown had been previously placed. This led to double charges, one from the previous dentist and the one from Sunwest. Both had been charged to a Care Credit card and we were out this money. Despite communications with this Sunwest Dentist he refused to acknowledge the other dentists work and knowing a crown had already been ordered by the previous dentist he went ahead and charged us for the crown prep he had done and the permanent crown he had ordered. Very poor professional and business practices. I would not recommend this dental group to anyone. read more

This was my first visit to SunWest Dental Sun City. I cannot think of anything negative to write. The hygienist, Heather, made me feel comfortable from the beginning, from her greeting and the way she explained everything she was doing to her professionalism yet pleasant and personable manner. Dr. Cadwell also made a professional yet pleasant impression. He went above and beyond my expectations caring for my dental needs. I have been a patient at Sun West Dental in Sun City since October 2019.They are most definitely a 5 star Dental office. Sharon and the other office staff have been great to work with on insurance issues, Very friendly, caring and considerate. Dr. Juriansz has done great work on my implant and I am scheduled to do 2 crowns next week. Will be seeing Amanda for Dental Hygiene appointment in a couple months. read more

Dr. Fialkoff is a young and very thorough dentist. He also has a great sense of humor. His staff is professional and efficient.

This is the worst dental office I've been to ever. The staff is very rude and unprofessional, especially the older blonde receptionist. The oral surgeon, who I went to see has no bedside manner. He didn't hear what I had to say and only wanted to do do it his way. I left the office and refuse to get any sort of procedure done there or any other sunwest office. These people are the reason why most people no are scared of the dentist. The only reason I'm giving them a star is because I have to. read more
