A patient of nearly a decade, I just tried to book a routine cleaning and said that I didn't need an exam or x-ray. The former was not needed because I wanted an appointment as soon as possible and presumably not seeing a dentist could expedite scheduling; the latter was not needed because I am actively trying to become pregnant. The office told me that I would not be able to have a cleaning without an x-ray because "the law" requires that dental patients get x-rays at mandated intervals. I have researched all Florida statutes and regulations concerning dentistry: There is no such law. Apart from this lie, the office also informed me that pregnant women were fine to get x-rays which cause less radiation than "going outside." While I don't have data on that point, surely that cannot be the case. Moreover, it's worth mentioning that the one time I did have an issue, it could have been diagnosed with the x-ray Dr. Bailey performed. She, however, apparently didn't review the x-ray. read more

Everything at Smiles by Beck and Bailey is WONDERFUL. I used to be so afraid to go to the dentist. And now, I totally enjoy my visits. I adore Lisa, RDH. She is competent, skilled and makes me feel at ease. She remembers me and my "mouth". Dr. Bailey is a gem as well. She addresses all issues and concerns and responds with appropriate treatment plans. I must give a shoutout to Britney, the hygienist scheduler. She looked for availability to "fit" me in. And when nothing was available she said, I'll keep my eye on it and if something opens up I'll call you. She was true to her word. This group has been very money, hungry. I have a tooth that is in pain and loose, they referring me to a periodontist for my gum in the front. (not the tooth in question) well I go and they want $500 for scale cleaning, then $5000 bone implants after insurance, and my blood sugar to be perfect for 3 months before it all. Did I mention that my mouth was hurting? So, I say I just want the tooth pulled. They now say I'm not going to pull the tooth on the left side of your mouth without you purchasing a cap for the tooth on the right side of your mouth that is $500. Well will you pull the tooth then? The DR.s are awsome super friendly.But her Ins. Billing department needs work.Pluse there was always a bill a week or two after services and they blamed the Dr. for useing better services than what the ins company would pay for. AND then after about 2 years of this ..they said I had to pay at the end of every appointment in which it was zero. Then they would send me a bill..that started at 55 dallors...then went to a 100 pluse ..and then would kinda say in a way.. in which they didn't trust me.. Into a high pressure phone call to pay know... And the next time I came i would definitely had two pay after there services..but they never could fig out my pay and then would call me with a VERY STERN TONE TO PAY...its to confusing to me ..so I looking to get my records and find another dentist .very sad to leave ..but I can't be talked down to ..esp when I have tried to work with your staff on correcting this issue.... read more

I've been going to Smiles by Beck & Bailey for years, ever since I was a kid.The staff there is AMAZING. They do a wonderful job cleaning and keeping your teeth healthy. They are also so so kind!! They ask about you and will remember what you told them at the next appointment. I've never been a fan of the dentist but they make the experience so positive that I don't mind it! Today I had the hygienist Regina. She is very communicative and will explain what's going to happen. She also gave some awesome advice on how to remember to floss!! Guys, let me tell you about this place....... they are all very nice people to your face.... but they are crooks...... I went in with a cavity and instead of them telling me that they don't perform root canals and that it needed one, the Dr did a different procedure that wasn't even covered by my insurance and she never disclosed that fact to me either.......I wouldn't be complaining if it had worked..... but instead I was left in excruciating pain for WEEKS..... when I went back to have them fix whatever was wrong, they referred me to another dentist for a root canal, which took 3 weeks to get in to...... so for over a month I had an debilitating pain in my jaw and no relief. But that's not the worst part ........ the bill is where they ticked me off............ So not only did this doctor perform a procedure that my insurance didn't cover, she also didn't tell me that they weren't going to cover it before she performed it, so I was blindsided.... she was just 'saving the sale' by performing a procedure that she could charge me directly for even though it was OBVIOUS from the beginning that it wasn't the right solution........ So they hit me with this bill..... I didn't have the money for it at the time, I was groggy and crying from the pain and I just wanted to get out of there. So I told them to bill me..... After that my life started to get really hectic (mother had massive heart attack, aunt passed, truck died, house required major repairs, the list goes on and on).... when they called me I communicated everything to them and asked them to just give me some time and I would pay it, even though I shouldn't have too because it was shady the way the business was conducted........ Fast forward two and half months later..... they mail me a letter threatening me with court proceedings if I don't pay them their $43.20....... despite the fact that I had been communicating my circumstances frequently via phone and telling them that when I found the time to come by and pay it that I would........ I told them I didn't feel comfortable paying it over the phone because that's how my card was compromised previously...... I made every effort to let them know that I was aware of the debt and would pay it when I could..... you would THINK that after putting me though a significant amount of pain for so long that they would be a bit more compassionate to the fact that life was currently stretching me thin and that they would be the last thing on my priority list..... but no.....they didn't care........ So, I paid it over the phone, despite my hesitation and because of the way they have handled their business and the lack of compassion that was shown, I will make sure to post my story in every social media outlet and repost it often! I saw Dr Julie, first dentist visit in four years. She's actually pretty awesome; she listened to my anxieties and health issues and adjusted to meet them. A medical professional who actually listens is very hard to find. Nothing negative to report with any aspect of the office or visit; her assistant was also very nice. I went to Dr. Bailey when I had a tooth emergency and my current dentist couldn't see me. She was amazing, as were all the staff. Kind, patient, concerned to make sure I wasn't anxious or in pain. They used high-end technology to x-ray. I had such a pleasant experience that I switched my entire family to their office and even referred a new co-worker. I was so excited about finding a new dentist in Tallahassee our new home and after reading about the firm, I loved the family feel. It's so disappointing to be treated like you do not matter by staff, particularly Jackie. She sounds as if she does not enjoy her job, she is quick to talk over you on the phone (I had a tooth emergency), and then after spending almost $3000 on a crown, ex-rays and whitening in office, she told me she considers me a "new patient" and cannot get me in for 7 months to have a cleaning. When she could not find an exception to fit me in, I said, I will need to go elsewhere and she said with a snippy attitude, okay goodbye. Who does that in this day and age? I wonder if the Beck Dr's care whether they are losing a patient or not. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Bailey's and this is the best dental experience I have had in my life. I have never had a provider keep up such wonderful communication and truly show that they care about my well being. She always has great availability and I never have to wait long for an appointment after calling. The front staff and Dr. Bailey has put up with my mess of an Invisalign case. I was a transfer case, it was confusing, the original provider did such poor quality work and they have been patient and willing since day one. I have always loved going to the dentist and I truly feel like this will be my dental office for life. The quality of care is VERY high. Early in the month my son had broken a tooth while getting a water bottle from the closet late at night. My Dentist was booked through till September, so I decided to call the SBB crew to fix him up. After an initial consultation they were able to repair the tooth. However, if you look closely at the tooth you can see a fine line where the tooth was repaired. With my son starting 10th grade in only a few days, I decided to ignore the blemish and gladly payed the staff in cash. I figured any cosmetic stuff I'm not happy with my dentist could fix when we had more time. Scheduling. . . The staff was adamant about rescheduling. I told them repeatedly August was terrible for us. They put me down for a date of the 22nd for a follow up. Two hours before my sons appointment they sent a text reminder with a confirm option not a cancel option. I received a phone call from a staff member that afternoon. Her tone was rude and somewhat snobbish. Once again I informed her that I told her staff August was terrible for us, and I needed a mid to late September appointment. Due to the tone of her voice as well as her delivery I decided to not reschedule with the office. Some things I liked. The office was nice, staff was clean and courteous. It was nice getting in so fast. Things that bothered me. They seemed put off by my desire to pay cash. I tend to always deal in a cash, it's how I do business. Before the dentist would work on my son he pulled me aside and asked me to pay in advance. I found this to be very tacky and off-putting. I humored them however and gladly payed. The repair wasn't perfect, for the money I spent I expected good job. I've had similar work done and mine are absolutely perfect, you can't even tell any damage was done. The day I went into the office I had my young daughter with me as well as my son. I was in a t-shirt and shorts. Despite my children being well dressed clean and respectful. I felt as if the office as well as the dentist were judgmental. Just because I chose to not wear a Polo that day, doesn't mean I'm not worth several million. I would return in a pinch for sure. Next time however, I would like to inspect the work before paying for a flawed job. I'm not one for writing reviews, but the attitude I received on the phone this morning gave me the nudge I needed. read more
