Second visit I saw Dr Aviva Zghi who was the only Dr. that day. I asked her to only work on the tooth I had the issue with. She was absolutely rude. She put anesthesia in my mouth and walked away to take care of another patient next door. After 10 minutes or more waiting the anesthesia ran off. She proceeded to apply 7 more stabbings in my mouth to the point that my face end up covered with anesthesia. Once she finished she threw the needle to the floor. I took a picture. She walked away to the other patient again. After a long time my mouth started to wake up again. I walked to the next room to let her know. She got upset. Once she finished she simply flattened out the filling(s). She end up touching 3 different fillings when I clearly told her to preform on the one.I end up with pain and discomfort on all 3 molars where she placed the feelings. I suffered for months not being able to chew on the left side of the mouth. I end up with a trauma and was afraid to go to the dentist again. I finally went to a new dentist and replaced all 3 fillings. I complained to the insurance company. They put them under investigation.

I just left a review of this place at Google, but their Google reviews seem inflated... Here is my…read morereview again for Yelp, which is often more accurate: It probably depends on which dentist you get there (there are several), but mine seemed to have trained at the School of Questionable Craftsmanship. The inlay he did for me lasted a majestic seven days before ejecting itself like it, too, wanted out of the practice. Transparency is also not their strong suit. Their approach to insurance and billing felt less like healthcare and more like a magic trick where the final number keeps changing after you've already agreed to clap. I understand medical offices are businesses, but this one treats your wallet as the primary patient. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, I was reminded about payment constantly. In fact, they even required me to sign forms and pay upfront before treatment, only for the cost to balloon afterward. I paid everything and escaped, or so I thought, until the front desk staff literally chased me toward the train station to inform me there was still more to pay. Nothing says "quality care" like a billing pursuit sprint. And just when I thought I was free, they began calling every 1-2 weeks with aggressive marketing reminders to come back. Not friendly check-ins. More like sequel trailers I never asked for. Avoid this place. There are far better dentists in the Port Washington area who fix teeth without trying to extract your savings along with them.

I just left this place feeling really uncomfortable, and totally turned off…read more I've been here before. Came in for a cleaning. Hygenist did a great job, fantastic cleaning and x-rays. Showed me exactly what is wrong with my teeth. Dr. Volk also came in, explained what I needed, and I actually agree that the treatment plan makes sense. Then I'm just left there in the chair, and then the treatment plan person comes in. I thought that it would be an estimate that I could review at home and make financial decisions over. She asks me to come into her office, I said I needed to get back to work (as I just set aside time for the appointment) she keeps talking and then says she needs to talk to Dr Volk. I wait some more. She comes up front and then asks me to come into her office anyway because 'something changed'. I let her explain for a few minutes, understand the thought process, and said that I need to digest it, but that I do take it seriously and need to check my insurance, etc. I also said that I need to get back to work. She keeps talking, saying 'lets do the cavities, etc' I said that will probably be my plan, but I need to check my finances, insurance, etc and make a plan - they are handing me an 8000 dollar treatment plan. Only after I asserted myself more (that I needed to return to work) that she relented. This literally was high-pressure used car salesman like tactics. It ruined an otherwise good experience with the hygenist and Dr Volk. I understand the urgency of the work - thats not the problem. The problem is that this office left me totally uncomfortable today. I expect that from a used car salesman, and I go in prepared for it. But not from my dentist. I even recommended them to my wife. This really stinks.

But Sybil was very friendly and polite and answered all my questions, especially about the excruciating pain I was in. She asked if I had any clove in my pantry and to put it on my infected tooth and wow, it worked better than the ibuprofen. Now, back to the big elephant in the room The Root Canal. Dr Levine and his assistant Denise were also great; they made me feel so relaxed I think I went to sleep. The most pain I had was the needles in the beginning, and before I knew it my nap was over- oops, I mean the root canal. They were also very thorough; they sent off all my paperwork to my primary dentist, and my prescription was ready as soon as I got home. All I can say is what a great experience. I don't want to go through this again, but if I do, I know who to call. And by the way this is my second day and I still have no pain

The facility doesn't provide patients with copies of forms being filled out. they're condescending and very rude. You're unable to speak with the provider who I'm sure is unaware of the nasty attitude and behavior his workers are displaying to potential and new patients. However, if he's employing these type of individuals to operate his business, shows how unethical the practice will be. I truly believe the BBB should get involved and shut this port Washington location down. Future patients please look elsewhere on Long Island for Orthodontic work!

Patients are now required to pay in full upfront for dental work (in our case, thousands of dollars). The Smilist was reimbursed months ago by my insurance carrier but they haven't refunded any of the money I paid upfront. It's been months and can't get anyone to resolve. Given all the similar negative reviews on Google, this is the norm and others are going through the same ordeal.

A Friday night before Christmas weekend, I figured I'd be celebrating the holiday without a chunk of my bottom front tooth. I reached Antionette at the front desk of this office roughly 30 minutes before they were to close. I had never been to Port Washington Dental, had never spoken to Antionette, and still couldn't pick her out in a lineup. That said, she went out of her way to help a stranger, calling me back after fifteen minutes of scrambling to say that she and the dental team at Port Washington were willing to OPEN THE OFFICE ON THE MORNING OF CHRISTMAS EVE in order to help me. I am beyond humbled at the compassion of the staff and doctors at this practice, even though I am neither a regular patient nor from the area. Thank you, Port Washington Dental, for being willing to save Christmas for a stranger.
