Here's how this goes, I bought a Shield Plus model because it was my choice, I noticed that it had a rebate which had nothing to do with why I bought the gun. Filled out the rebate form 4 times only getting an error message over and over. Emailed customer service which apparently is a joke, sent a copy of everything by mail, finally got a guy on Chat and was told that my serial number was one that didn't qualify for a rebate. $50 isn't going to make or break me but why advertise a summer rebate listing the Shield Plus when it is only a small cross section of that model to qualify...VERY DECEPTIVE ADVERTSING OVERALL. Will I buy another S&W? That is TBD.

I was a life long Smith & Wesson fan. For over 35 years i have put this company before any other firearms company but my love affair has come to an end and it was over within a blink of an eye because of a 125 dollar lower that was improperly inspected before shipping out. I was doing a build on a rifle and was minutes away from completing. Upon installation of the rear take down, I installed the detent pen, spring, and tightened the castle. I checked functionality, it slid out perfectly and then would not slide back in. The pin would not budge. I found that there was a aluminum waist in place of my detent pen. I removed all pressure from the scrap aluminum inside the hole but it was completely jammed. To make a long story short. My lower was damaged upon removal of the aluminum and now my rear take down pin has to be in or out. I contacted costumer service about the issue i had. Costumer service couldn't help get the issue resolved so i asked to speak to a manager. I explained to them the issue i had. I even took photos of the issue. Customer service didn't want to see the photos or even try to help me the best that they could do was have me send the part in and they would do an investigation on it and couldn't promise that I would get it back. I had photos and he didn't want to see them. I asked for his email just so I can send them to him just incase he was slightly curious and wanted to see them. I sent the email and never heard anything back and it's been 4 months. Over 35 years of dedication and was ended over a 125 dollar part that probably cost them 5 bucks to make. In my opinion S&W is lacking Quality Control and Customer Service but then again this is what makes a company great. Pictures are included in this post. I have built a ton of firearms and this was my first using an S&W and last time. Is this my fault? I'll take part of the blame for not checking if this tiny hole was completely clearing of debris. Should have S&W made this issue right with the customer? Absolutely!

I feel I need to share my horrible experience with Smith & Wesson recently. After finally getting to fire my Bodyguard 380 by joining a range I immediately experienced firing issues. Failing to fire off a round (most likely do to light primer striking), jamming and failing to lock open on last round. I spoke to them and sent it in for repair. After 3 times of receiving my firearm back saying it was repaired and tested it was not fixed at all. Every time it was the same. After wasting expensive ammunition and spending months without my firearm the fourth time I returned it I received an E-mail saying the gun had been modified and the warranty was Voided. It was void now but not the other 3 times they failed to fix it. Now I own a very expensive S&W paperweight.

More interesting was the fact that the class was evenly divided between men and women. Of the women who attended 2 were lawyers, 1 paralegal, 2 school teachers, two nurses and several single as well as married women. The course ran from 9am until 5pm and covered, firearm safety, review of handgun types, the law concerning handgun ownership and live firing of revolvers and semiautomatic pistols. The course, I felt was somewhat drawn out and might have been condensed but the instructor's personal experience in police work, the ATF, and military tactics and training was nothing short of mind blowing and invaluable. This course is a must if you wish have a handgun permit and I would highly recommend Mark Poirier and Jim Markowski , the course instructors. Be prepared to have your preconceived notions about handguns and handgun statistics, completely blown away and replaced by accurate reliable federal data. This was an eye opener!!!

The Absolute Worst FID course Money Can Buy…read more Looking to start shooting? Would you like to learn firearms safety and complete your FID paperwork? That's where I found myself a few years ago and why I stopped by ARC. Instead of the standard firearms safety class I'm familiar with from previous classes in MA and two other states what I ended up paying for was 90 minutes of a bitter racist ex-cop ranting about the Healey being an idiot, how black people can sue cops for being asked to stop by a traffic cop, and complaints about the accuracy of gunplay in Escape from New York. I left before lunch. This was a few years ago, so I can't say if they still have the same bitter old racist running classes. Them ever giving that clown an audience is unfortunate and, as a sport shooter who tries to push back against the negative stereotypes associated with gun owners this was a really infuriating letdown. I went to Pioneer Valley Arms the next month and completed their class promptly. I highly recommend you do the same.
