We obtained them as our CPA for Individual with S.Corp Partnership. I would say obtained services but I did all the tax prep, data entry and better ways to max deductions, still unsure what services they provided that cost $1300.00, which I requested a copy of the invoice that I've yet to receive. They made a HUGE error on our estimated tax payments for 2022 which has resulted in us owing $30k for 2022, along with multiple accounting errors/discrepancies on the 2021 filed return. I emailed them the specific amount to use to formulate the 2022 estimated payments for distribution income. Instead, Folkers used their own report and based it off "2021 statutory requires" which only reflected 3 months worth of distributions. There is more that 3 months in a year and they didn't catch this error prior to filing and shockingly this was reviewed by 2 different associates. I'm not a CPA but since they were again having me do the tax prep that is how I found their error. I understand mistakes happen. I wanted to work on a solution, better understand how this error happened and ways to prevent future errors. I emailed them to confirm that what I found was indeed an error on their end as I provided the email I sent telling them the monthly distribution amount to use for 2022 estimated tax payment. After a couple hrs, I received a call from R.M. asking for some additional information (I didn't have access to or wasn't ready- K1) to see if there were solutions to lower the $30k owed. Our conversation started to take a turn as I was wanting to discuss how they missed this, why wasn't it questioned/evaluated/executed correctly. I only expressed concern in my tune during this conversation and explained I'm not angry, mad, I just want to understand. R.M responded "I don't think we can meet your expectations" then proceeds to tell me "the conversation is done" "I have other clients I need to get to" even after hearing that I still tried to reschedule our call for a day he is available and he absolutely refused. This validates everything I said in my opening statement. Folkers & Associates has unethically walked away using "unable to meet our expectations" as their reason and knowingly left us in the middle of tax season with a HUGE TAX DEBT we originally expressed and wanted to prevent when we hired them!

I didn't even read the email until 7/6/26! To add insult to injury that payment is now late. I have no idea why this wasn't handled in a timley manner but I will not be using TVN Advisors in the future. This should have been handled by April 15, 2026 or shortly after, not two and half months late. There is no acceptable excuse for this!

Jordan is young and his ENTIRE staff is comprised of new, young students who aren't CPAs, the majority of which just graduated college or are still in college. They are the ones, come to find out, who prepare the tax returns! They have little, if any knowledge about completing tax returns. When we received our taxes, we found a glaring error that would have cost us THOUSANDS of dollars had we not reviewed our taxes after-the-fact (money that we were owed that went completely undetected by TVN Advisors). Jordan told us that he had NOT reviewed his young staff's work prior to returning our taxes to us. When I came to pick up the taxes, I was provided with only documents that go into creating a tax return, the items I provided to Jordan upon the initial visit (such as W-2, 1099, etc.). I had to re-return to the office to pick up the actual return. Prior to going to the office that second time, I asked Jordan to ensure that he reviewed his staff's work. He hadn't. In short, please don't make the same mistake we did. Please find a competent CPA who has been doing taxes for many years.

The omission was prior to submitting the return so he was able to make the correction, but he ghosted me the following year. That year he began sending out a mass email form letter to his clients indicating new business policies. However, he did not return my calls or emails so I could make an appt for the yearly tax appointment. I had to scramble to find a new accountant due to his lack of communication. Not professional. Ironically, It was later that year or within several months that he was selected for honor as a Tustin businessman of the year. It was circa 2023 or 2024. So surprised to see the high Yelp ratings.
