Was having horrible sciatic pain, came in skeptical but willing to try anything because of the pain. Was recommended to this office because they do their own xrays before touching your spine, which seems like a no brainer but isn't super common. I have scoliosis so having xrays was very important. During every apt he looks at my xray while adjusting me to make sure he's targeting the right places. After 1-2 visits my pain was gone and I say that as someone who was skeptical! Dr. Smith is an integral part of my wellness and I've been going to him for over 10 years. My range of motion was extremely restricted from years of wear and tear (typical young adult mentality of thinking I'll be invincible forever and neglecting my body) and he was able to restore my neck and back motion to my younger years. The quality of life improved so much that I'm now on a maintenance plan to ensure I don't regress. He's honest and transparent about how he can help, and doesn't try to push services like so many service providers do. I've tried other chiropractors that were closer to my house or work but nothing compared. They may have given me a long massage or hooked me up to electrical stimulation that gives the perception I'm getting more, but in the end that was fluff and a waste of my time. He also gave us complimentary exams and x-rays to make sure our bodies are in optimum shape. The girls that work with Dr. Smith were so nice and helpful when I went for my free exam. They always know your name (it's kind of crazy...). His office is big, clean, and organized. They have a computer automated check in system. The adjustments are much shorter than what I expected (about 2 minutes long)...so you're in and out. This is a long overdue review. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Smith. I started seeing him in April when I began experiencing back pain worse than I ever thought possible. My back was constantly going into spasm and I had horrible sciatic pain in my left leg. I literally couldn't move--and all of this 50 days before my wedding! I was panicked. After looking at my X-rays with Dr. Smith I soon realized that this was not something that was going to go away on its own. I went with his year long treatment recommendation-one of the greatest decisions I've ever made. Within just a few days I was walking and driving again. Within a week, the pain was gone! Dr. Smith is by far the best chiropractor in the Bay Area. I bruised/chipped my tailbone when I was 12 and it never healed properly. For years the doctors just told me there was nothing they could do about it and kept giving me pain medicine. Finally my mother convinced me to see Dr. Smith and I am so glad she did. My mom is a chiropractor so I'm pretty no-nonsense about chiropractic care; I know when someone has skills but I don't believe the hype. Dr. Smith has some mad, mad skillz. He's the best adjuster I've ever come across (sorry mom!) I'm difficult to adjust; I'm little and stiff muscled and I'm in a lot of pain. But he jumps in and out super smoothly, and the right bones always go pop in the right way. Bad chiropractic can actually quite mess you up. You won't get bad chiropractic here. He's a nice guy, if intense, and the office is sparkly clean and very friendly. It's a little too evangelical for my preferences ("chiropractic can CHANGE YOUR LIFE" lol) but when you have chops like this dude, you're allowed to be preachy. If your back hurts, go see Dr. Smith. Dr. Smith's strategy for improvement of spinal health fits very well with my routine. With frequent timely visits he has managed to help retrain my back to a much healthier state, increasing blood flow between vertebrae, causing a healthy gap between the bones allowing for greater nerve health and flexibility. It's amazing how many seemingly-unrelated secondary symptoms can be improved simply when spinal health is improved. He explains his technique very well and is always happy to answer any questions. A couple of months ago, I crushed a disc in my neck at c5 c6 and lost the use of my left arm and was in extreme pain. Having never been to a chiropractor, I didn't know what to expect, but I was desperate for relief. I live nearby so I dropped in and asked Dr. smith if he could give me an adjustment to relieve some pain. He informed me that he would have to x-ray my spine first. He then proceeded to tell me how messed up my spine is and that he could fix it, but it would be like 7,8 thousand dollars but if I paid up front he could do it for 5 thousand dollars. That blew me away..... So I declined to sign on, still in extreme pain, and wondering what the heck was going on here, Dr. Smith informed me that I owed him $245. for digital x-rays that took five minutes.....? Dr. Smith and his wife along with Matt came to my workplace to do a talk. Whatever, I only signed up for the class because we can get points towards getting a discount for our insurance next year and lunch was provided. What can they tell me that I don't already know. Besides, I have my family doctor and specialist for other health issues that I might have. If my doctors can't find anything wrong with me or fix my issues, What can Dr. Smith do for me? Issues such as: migraine, really bad cramps that something require ER visit ( you got to love being a woman ), minor tingling sensation down my right leg, little numbness on my right cheek and the latest one, stiffness in my back. My range of motion was not as it used to be. My doctor and specialist said, it's just part of getting older and they couldn't find anything wrong with me. They did blood test, MRI scan and everything looks fine. They said if I'm in pain to take some prescription medication and all should be fine. If it's really bad, I can consider surgery for some issues. Dr. Smith talked about taking care of yourself and eating healthy and he spoke about taking care of your spine and how your spine send messages to all other parts of your body. I knew a lot of the stuff he was saying but not the spine part. What the heck, he seems to know what he's talking about, I'll just check it out and see if he can do something about this stiff back of mine. After consultation, my husband and I decided that I should give Dr. Smith a try and if I don't see any improvement, I'll stop going. My husband believes in chiropractor, so I figured whatever. I'll try it out. Well, just after two months of seeing Dr. Smith, ( 3 times a week) , my range of motion was just OK, small improvement, but I noticed that my cramps was not as bad. Hum... I must be having a good month ( so I thought to myself ). I'll keep an eye on it. As each month passes I noticed any issues related to my menstrual cycle ( tension headaches, migraine, bad cramps ) all improved. The tingling sensation down my leg is improving too. My face does not feel numbness anymore. I also noticed that my sensitivity to light and smell had also improved. I cannot believe it, so I told no one for awhile. I had to make sure it's not just a glitch or something that last just few months only. I even tested the light issue by going outside on a sunny day WITHOUT my sunglasses. I did NOT need my sunglasses. It did not trigger my migraine. My coworker , can now wear their perfume and it doesn't bother me anymore. I have been seeing Dr. Smith for 8 months now. ( No, I did not see him 3 times a week for the 8 months , only the first 3 month. Now it's just 2 times a week and will be switching​ to 1 time a week soon ). I am happy to report that, I now have my full range of motion and my back is not stiff anymore. Other issues that I have, had now almost disappear. No tension headaches, no cramps like before. ( Just a pinch or slight discomfort if there is any) No sensitivity to light or smell. My face does not feel numbness and my right leg does not feel tingling. I am super happy and so thankful. I've been going to Dr. Smith for almost three years now. I have low-grade, chronic neck pain that I've had my whole life due to scoliosis. Weekly adjustments completely alleviate the pain. Many chiropractors have trouble adjusting necks and mine is tricky, but Dr. Smith is great at it and I trust him wholeheartedly. I have been seeing Dr Smith for about 5 years now. I didn't know if I trusted chiropractic work because so many say they just "make you believe" you feel better. I was very skeptical. There were a few things that made Dr. Smith's practice stand out to me. 1. He came recommended and was very well known in Los Gatos, though all the sports medicine he provided to athletes in the area. My friends that used him in high school, still continue to see him 10-15 years later. 2. He has a family practice, which I really liked. When I went and visited, he was very calm, non-pushy and gentle. 3. He offered me before and after x-rays, so I could put my skepticism at ease. I suffered from massive migraines, that would sometimes last up to one week. I also had really bad back pain. I'm in construction and now I'm a Mom. My body gets put through the ringer on a daily basis. My initial x-rays showed that I had lost almost all of the curvature in my neck, that's where a lot of my migraines were coming from. My after x-rays showed huge improvement in the curvature of my neck. That was proof in black and white, literally. Since my time with Dr. Smith, my migraines have decreased severely (I won't say I never get them anymore bc other things can trigger them for me), and so has my back pain.
