Stunned. Appalled. Disgusted. All of the above applies. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Ever. Finally, your dollar goes farther and is better placed at the other crematoriums and buriel businesses in Billings. Professionalism is a joke at this place. Except nothing's very funny about it. Stay away.

We have contacted Lew no less than 13 documented times inquiring about the status. He does not return calls, says it will be done soon, etc. The last time I spoke to Lew he told me "your father-in-law (who, by the way is 87 years old) will not have to pay any more because I dropped the ball here". He then assured me it would be placed in 3-4 weeks. That was 8 weeks ago. I called two weeks ago to ask again and never got a call back. I am filing a formal complaint with the Montana Board of Funeral Directors today.

We've never been disappointed. There's a number to call if you have any questions or disappointments to allow them to remedy them. To the lady that visited the cemetery in 2021. I think back on that time, it was the middle of the COVID pandemic. Some consideration should be given.

The newest national cemetery, dedicated in 2014, Yellowstone provides a unique look into how these…read moresites begin, grow, and are maintained. From visiting older national cemeteries predating the genesis of the national veterans cemetery, I had a great opportunity to hear about the process and see how they've evolved. It's so new, that in addition to recent burials for which there's still no headstone, there's a spot as you come in, where the crypts are still visible, aligned, and soon will be covered with grass. It's a view not often available with respect to how these cemeteries create the precise placement of the sites and headstones. It's also somewhat sobering. I had the chance to speak with the Post Commander from the American Legion and his wife, both of whom have been involved from the beginning in getting state and federal approval for Montana to have a National Cemetery of its own. They explained the process, the plans for expanding the cemetery, increasing the columbarium niches, how those veterans who've left the state have opted to come back to be buried here and told me the stories of a couple of veteran "notables". It was an opportunity for a look-behind the scenes at learning what is involved with these places that honor our veterans. The land was donated to the state. Yellowstone National Cemetery is the first of many more new National Cemeteries authorized by Congress. This location seems empty compared with others, but it's only an illusion, I think. It's a nice location.
