Only certain family members count and as they said, " we only listen to who's going to pay". In this case my brother didn't pay, a trust did. But they still listed him as the only next of kin. They refused the obituary written by and with my mothers input. They blocked phone calls and mailed the remains with the incorrect name. Not sure if I even got the right remains because they can't be trusted to do the right thing EVER. Not once did they offer condolences. They are disrespectful, arrogant and motivated by money only. Go anywhere else but don't go here.

Mountview Cemetery is historical in many ways. According to the website, it's been active for 135…read moreyears and the oldest continually operating cemetery in the region. As I drove by on Central, what captured my attention were the military markers. The same white precise layout as in standalone military cemeteries. With the opening of the national veterans cemetery in Laurel, I didn't expect to see many "new" markers. I was wrong. Near each of these were small holes for placing flowers or flags or other mementos. A nice touch. Back behind the military section, is the civilian section and it seemed to go on forever. What stood out to me were the grave markers. They all seemed enormous and intricate in both pattern and wording. Had I not known this was a cemetery, I would have believed I was in a museum of sculpture art. Of course there were the smaller plots marked out for families, the in-ground markers, the traditional early 20th century size markers, and the huge monoliths, but overall most were large, eye-catching and sometimes imposing. I found this to be the most incredible cemetery. Some of the newer markers had pictures of the person, bringing visitors back to an acknowledgment that for as beautiful as the setting, it's still a place for remembering a life. It's history here.

Just up the hill from Swords Rimrock Park, along a one-lane unpaved road, is the Yellowstone Kelly…read moregrave and the site dedicated to this Civil War veteran, scout, hunter, trader who was friends with some notable people of his time. It's a strange place for a grave for someone eligible to be buried in Arlington, but according to the writings about him available at this center, he wanted to be buried where he had his "greatest adventures" and so Montana, high on the Rims overlooking the Yellowstone Valley, it was. The view from here is spectacular. It's also very quiet. There are some easy, paved paths winding near the markers describing the life of Yellowstone Kelly. There's a paved parking lot, if you choose to make the drive here, but it's also accessible from the Heritage Trail path coming from MetraPark for those who prefer hiking, walking, or biking. If learning about historical figures who helped make Billings is on a must-do list, then make the hike. If that's not your style, it's also a nice pause on your walk or run along the trail.

The space is well laid out, with a great cozy atmosphere that doesn't feel stuffy or old. It feels super modern, and we loved the kids area. They actually have a children's area librarian, and we heard her having a great conversation with a young reader about his favorite parts of a book so far, and suggesting what to read next based on what he has been enjoying. I loved seeing this, as encouraging kids to read and love it is a big deal to me! They have a dedicated story area for reading to the kids to avoid disrupting the library overall and we are excited to participate. I also though the expiration packs, and dealing with tough subject kits (Death, dementia ect) was a super cool addition to the kids area. No one wants kids to have to deal with these subjects, but I love that they are creating ways to approach tough conversations. As a grow up reader, the rest of the library was just as great. They have a fantastic little cafe with food and coffee that makes it easy to spend all day at the library, and plenty of great reads, and cozy spots. I look forward to more visits!!!

I need to start documenting when books are torn or damaged when we check them out because at least half of the books we receive from the children's section of the library have pages missing or are torn/damaged. I wish the library would do a better job checking books that get turned in or put fines back in place for late books so they don't have to charge the average book reader for damages that they have not caused.
