Recently after purchasing a lift chair the made a special trip to deliver it. Smith Medical Supply is a fantastic business. My family and I recently bought a walker, lift chair and mobility scooter for our elderly father. Brent Smith and his employees were so patient and kind as we spent an hour and a half in their store. Our 91 year old dad sat in chair after chair until he found just the perfect one for him. Brent patiently taught him how to use the remote control for all the features of the chair. We repeated the same exercise when selecting a scooter. Buyer/Renter BEWARE!!! The salesman was super nice when I called to inquire about renting a hospital bed. I specifically asked if the charge included mattress and delivery and was told, "YES." I had my procedure yesterday and my partner was at home for the delivery. The delivery man charged him an additional $75!!! He called and said he paid it. I called Smith today when I got home and spoke to the same salesman. I reminded him he told me the charge was all inclusive and he said he "misunderstood." How do you misunderstand whether or not the price you give includes all of the charges? All of the other places I called broke all costs out up front. Since Smith had something immediately available, and I thought the price was right, I went with them. Long story longer, I spoke with the manager and he wouldn't even negotiate a compromise. My daughter lost her rented knee scooter, it was well used to start with. Smith Medical charged me $270 for a scooter you can purchase new for $170. I paid it without any feedback and was given a receipt where the owner wrote "If found - bring back for buyback". I found it, returned it and was told I could keep it. read more
