After they had my 43ft 5th wheel for over seven months and did no repairs they then said it was out of warranty even though it was under warranty when I gave it to them . I purchased a new Winnebago from this dealership in March. As I write this review in late August, it remains on a service lot. It's been there for a better part of the summer. I've never been able to use it, in fact, I don't know when it will be returned. To make a very long story short, Smith RV lied about the age of the vehicle. As a result, it's in service with extensive weather damage. Work is currently being done by another Winnebago dealer in Boise. They've replaced everything from the automatic jack to the lower half of the slide-out. Smith RV is completely MIA. When I initially contacted Winnebago and found out about the age of the vehicle, I confronted the General Manager. Her immediate response was "it's not illegal." To underscore that point, she restated it several times. This was witnessed by a passenger in my vehicle. The call ended with a promise to follow-up, but I never heard from Smith RV again. From that point forward, the GM wouldn't accept or return my phone calls. Unfortunately, it doesn't end there. The servicing dealer discovered two unsecured batteries in a metal storage bin with the propane tanks. The batteries were installed by Smith as part of an upgrade package. According to the tech, they could've easily tilted, sparked, and caused an explosion. The camper is designed for off-road use, so this is a strong possibility. For that reason, it's not even road worthy. At this point, I don't expect Smith RV to act with any level of integrity. Actions up to this point dictate otherwise. I'm writing this review as a warning to other consumers. It's unacceptable that Smith lied about the age of the Winnebago. It's unconscionable that they then refused to help in any way. It's egregious that they put my life at risk. Smith RV isn't just dishonest, they're reckless. "It's not illegal" is a pretty low bar for any business. When businesses set that standard, consumers get hurt - emotionally, financially, and physically. I'm fortunate the latter didn't happen, but it was a definite possibility. read more

Heeeeere we are!!! These guys are so amazing! John, Shawn, Corwin, and Nate got us all set up. Corwin even turned it on early today so that the fridge would be cold when we picked it up. John was an AWESOME salesman! He showed is all the models we wanted to see. He sold us the right camper for us and the family, and the right hitch. He also hooked us up with some RV TP and chemicals and a water pressure regulator. We are going out this weekend to see what we learned and what we forgot . John made sure we had his number in case we came across something we couldn't figure out, or anything. These guys, you feel like you are instant friends with the whole bunch of them. read more

We were just in Idaho Falls for an overnight stop this past Monday and had an issue with our bedroom slide not opening. We called Smith RV service to get help. They took in our 2022 Paradigm the very next morning as they opened. The schwintek slide mechanism was trashed. They ordered the parts and set us up in their lot with elec and water. We expected it to take 1-2 weeks to receive/repair. On Friday afternoon 2:00, the knock on the door said the parts were in! YAY! They moved our 5th wheel into the bay, made the repairs and we were back in and set up by 5:00. What wonderful service. We are from FL and didn't know where to turn. This was the very best experience we could have hoped for. Thank you to all at Smith RV service and all the employees we talked with as we waited. What a great group of people. read more

The wife and I bought our first 5th wheel there back in June 2022. We had a new salesman which did not know the first thing about these RVs so we actually had two different sales people helping us the entire time. We looked at a few and ended up buying a Astoria 3778mb I believe those are the correct numbers. I will take blame for myself not doing the research before jumping right in and buying something. That's on me. However to take advantage of customers the way they did us was unbelievable. We needed buying this camper after a 19,000 trade in and writing a check for 98,000. You do the math and we are in deep. We never camped in it and only took this camper from our driveway back to Smith's RV 3 times for repairs. Wait it get better! Decided after looking around maybe we trade up to a toy hauler or motor coach. We went to Bish's and they valued our 5th wheel at 45,000 trade in or 60,000 on consignment and may or may not move. What a gut punch! Went to Camping World the exact same quote was told to us within a few hundred dollars. This 5th brand new all over the country 75,000.00! They still selling the one for 114,000....lol! I could have lived with 25%-30% loss but not 50,000 and we never camped in it. So furious with this place. I would never buy a screw from this place again. My warning to everyone would be shop around. You will find a better deal. We just traded our 5th wheel in because I no longer wanted to look at that piece of crap for a big motor coach. I did my research this time. Talk about an amazing place with an awesome atmosphere. I recently had an awesome encounter with a salesman, who was also from the great state of Texas (where I rescue dogs). I was/am looking for a possible transport vehicle and was extremely surprised at what a good time we had. I actually feel like I left with a friend. Tom Baxter was knowledgeable about products, warranty, service, and an all around awesome guy! Do yourself a favor and ask for Tom when you visit Smith RVs. A+ all around! read more

Today we went to purchase a Minnie Winnie. We worked with salesman Ritchie who was very nice. We began negotiations for price, based on national sales average for the model we wanted. All proceeded as it normally does when negotiating for a major purchase. On the second offer, a woman other than our salesperson approached us, did not introduce herself, sat down and let us know that at the price we were offering, Smith's would only make $600 off of us. Her manner was confrontational and so I said respectfully, "We don't want to fight with you. If you can't do it, you can't do it" meaning we understood if they could not accept our offer. At this point, the woman asked, "If we meet this price, are you going to be problem clients when you need service." I asked her what she meant and she asked if we would be trouble-makers should our Minnie Winnie need service. To be clear, at no point had my husband or I caused trouble. We were conducting business as anyone would do and not making unreasonable demands. In fact, in speaking with other dealers following the incident at Smith RV, we have learned that our offer is quite reasonable. Until our interaction with Ms. Dunn, my husband and I had great rapport with the salesman and intended to make a purchase. I understand that Smiths RV is the only game in town for people seeking camp trailers in Idaho Falls. I suppose this is why Ms. Dunn does not feel that respectful treatment of clients is important. For fair pricing and appropriate treatment, I recommend travelling to other dealers. Smith RV relies on their monopoly in the area and their captive community to treat customers rudely and increase their pricing. read more

Thank Nathan Hudman for giving us such excellent service on our warranty repair. To begin with, we were traveling through Idaho Falls and received notice that our slide outs had a recall. Nathan arranged to order the parts and scheduled an appointment for the work to be done in between our travels to Montana and Idaho Falls. Nathan called us to let us know the parts arrived and that we were on schedule to complete the work as planned. The day of the appointment we dropped our rig off at opening time. We were pleasantly surprised to get a call within 3 hrs, it's ready for pickup! Wow!! Everyone we met at Smiths RV was knowledgeable and friendly. SMITHS was the best! Had a horried experience at another dealer in Idaho Falls. Courteous friendly staff, we picked it up on Friday and went camping, has power issues so called them Saturday morning and they got us in and fixed the problem within a couple of hours! This is my favorite RV store in our area. We bought a 2013 Fusion toy hauler 6 years ago and absolutely love it. Perhaps on of the main reasons is because of the people working at Smiths RV. We added a back AC unit and work was completed quickly with DJ in service following up to make sure we were happy. Had a problem with the front slide.. wear issue.. took it in Monday morning and Nate in parts got them ordered and wed morning an early call my rv was ready so I could get out that evening. What great service we received. We sent our Motorhome in for a roof inspection and re-seal as necessary, generator service, install a power roof vent, and dewinterize. They got the work done in a very timely manner and did not charge an arm and a leg for the work. Most other companies would have told us that the roof needed a complete re-seal, but not Smith. They inspected the roof and only re-sealed what was needed, at a great price. Would recommend them for any service work. read more

Nice people but the tech leff a stove burner on, didn't tighten the air mixture fitting not even finger tight and I almost had the trailer burn down. They didn't fix my fridge as it still doesn't get cold enough. I will take my trailer somewhere else. Maybe the tech was having a bad day but it is unacceptable. read more

There are Good People, Too! I've been dwelling on the evil we face in the world the past few days. So I'm pleased to be able to make a post about simple kindness and generosity. We were traveling south from Montana through Idaho yesterday, when the refrigerator in our RV began to act up. It kept cutting out, threatening to spoil Meghans groceries and MY ice cream. First thing this morning I started to make calls looking for an RV service place that could look at it for us on a Saturday. Smith RV in Idaho Falls said, "Sure, come by and we'll at least take a look at it." We got there at 10:30 and they stopped winterizing other RV's and told us to pull it right in. 25 minutes later they pulled it back out and told us it was a simple fix and all finished. We asked what the charge was, and Tyler a service advisor told us, "No charge - just get back out on the highway and enjoy the rest of your vacation!" After getting jerked around by John Meyer at Bishs we made a brilliant decision to go to Siths RV where we were greeted by Tom Stout and he gave us a bottle of water. He showed us what we needed and did not waste our time showing us crap then moving up to the nicer ones. They were all great, knew what was going on and gave us an amazing trailer a price we need to be at. Threw in four tires, tire covers, weight/sway bar, new propane tanks and 2-12v batteries but the parts dept explained the advantage of 6v and for just $90 more we upgraded to the 6v. It was hassle free and you felt great when you left, unlike John at Bishs made you feel. read more
