South Bound Trailers LLC…read more Last week, I was on my way to go camping, towing my travel trailer with my precious, scared and howling cat and the anxiety ridden dog of mine. all in the cab of my truck. Verizon kept calling me to handle their major mishap on erroneously adding two more lines to my account (why????!!!!) AND the trailer brakes were not working. I hung up with Verizon and pulled over. I couldn't figure it out. I called South Bound Trailers in Rigby, ID in tears (and fears), he gave me directions, I pulled in, and the two guys there fixed the issue right away. Even put a missing pin in the hitch. I had no money on me. They didn't care.. they fixed me up for free and sent us on our way. I can't say enough, how incredibly rare it is, to find a business that would go out of their way to help a stranded old lady, her old cat and anxious barking dog with hubby eventually catching up in our other car. I will forever be grateful AND take my trailer in for repairs, whenever needed. They are right off the 26 on the west side of the Hwy, but ya have to go past that and get off the Menan exit. It was a bit of turn here, turn there backtracking about a mile, but worth it! such nice guys. Thanks for making an otherwise stressful and possible cancellation of a camping trip into a stress free, no worries trek! I highly recommend them!!

My mom, who is retired and on a fixed income, recently bought an RV from Camping World of Idaho…read moreFalls so that she could have a place to stay near my house, as I just had a baby. We had a great experience buying the RV, and we felt that everyone was very kind, straight-forward and patient. In retrospect, though, I have two complaints. The first is their partnership with Good Sam's. Nothing good about it. Aaron, her sales person, convinced my mom to buy the extended warranty plan from Good Sam's, which seemed to make sense, as she was buying a used RV and we have no skills in fixing it ourselves. But when the heater stopped working in the middle of the night (and it was 8 degrees, by the way), Good Sam's claimed not to have her policy. Our experience with Camping World's customer service has been less than stellar (second complaint). It's very hard to get someone on the phone who can help with any issue. That said, Mom was able to get someone on the phone finally yesterday. Her name was Leslie, and she was very helpful, tracking down all the records that Good Sam's claimed not to have, including the date Good Sam's cashed the check for her payment on that warranty, since they also claimed to have never been paid. Bottom line: don't be convinced to do business with Good Sam's. Find another policy. It's too late for my mom, and I'm very disappointed that Camping World would recommend that anyone, let alone a retiree who is using her RV as a residence, do any business with Good Sam's.

My son looked into trading his RV. He scheduled an appointment to drive it a long distance to…read moreCamping World for his RV to be inspected by them, and look into trading it in on something smaller. On the day of the appointment everything went great. He found a trade in, received reasonable offer on his RV and reasonable sell price on a new one. Paperwork was signed, down payment taken, deal made. Next day, Camping World called and said they had to lower the offer SUBSTANTIALLY, even though a contract had been signed. They WOULD NOT honor their originally signed deal. Unethical professionalism not to mention illegal. Do not bother doing business here! It's a waste of time. Update: I reached out as requested. Have emails, voicemails and sign papers along with explanation. It was forwarded to Idaho falls management. I was contacted by the manager Ryan (or maybe Brian - over the phone it was hard to which name it was) he said the verbal estimate for the RV stood and the written and signed one that was $18,000 higher didn't matter. He stated there were multiple things that needed fixed but refused to provide a list when requested (side note: I had a separate RV place in Pocatello a few months before taking it to camping world to do a thorough check through and they said everything looked great - I provided this list i received from them to camping world). I feel this was a tactic to quickly discard the issue. He was not open to coming to any other sort of agreement, but said he would talk to the others in his building and get back with me. That was two weeks ago. I haven't heard back. It seems the customer service response is just for show and not sincere.

I purchased a new Winnebago from this dealership in March. As I write this review in late August,…read moreit remains on a service lot. It's been there for a better part of the summer. I've never been able to use it, in fact, I don't know when it will be returned. To make a very long story short, Smith RV lied about the age of the vehicle. As a result, it's in service with extensive weather damage. Work is currently being done by another Winnebago dealer in Boise. They've replaced everything from the automatic jack to the lower half of the slide-out. Smith RV is completely MIA. When I initially contacted Winnebago and found out about the age of the vehicle, I confronted the General Manager. Her immediate response was "it's not illegal." To underscore that point, she restated it several times. This was witnessed by a passenger in my vehicle. The call ended with a promise to follow-up, but I never heard from Smith RV again. From that point forward, the GM wouldn't accept or return my phone calls. Unfortunately, it doesn't end there. The servicing dealer discovered two unsecured batteries in a metal storage bin with the propane tanks. The batteries were installed by Smith as part of an upgrade package. According to the tech, they could've easily tilted, sparked, and caused an explosion. The camper is designed for off-road use, so this is a strong possibility. For that reason, it's not even road worthy. At this point, I don't expect Smith RV to act with any level of integrity. Actions up to this point dictate otherwise. I'm writing this review as a warning to other consumers. It's unacceptable that Smith lied about the age of the Winnebago. It's unconscionable that they then refused to help in any way. It's egregious that they put my life at risk. Smith RV isn't just dishonest, they're reckless. "It's not illegal" is a pretty low bar for any business. When businesses set that standard, consumers get hurt - emotionally, financially, and physically. I'm fortunate the latter didn't happen, but it was a definite possibility.
