It really is the perfect way to spend a spring/summer afternoon or evening. I've personally never had a bad experience at Smith's Ballpark. The staff has always been very friendly, the food isn't bad for less-than minor league baseball. And the seating prices are fair. We'll miss having Smith's Ballpark in this neighborhood! Pros: The stadium has a beautiful view of the Wasatch Mountains behind the field, there are some fun in-game promotions for fans, prices are still pretty affordable for a sporting arena, and there is a TRAX station close to it, making it accessible by public transit. Cons: It's an older stadium that doesn't have a ton of frills (and don't expect any to come, as the Bees are moving to a new stadium soon), concessions options are just okay--nothing amazing, and parking can be a hassle, as the lot across the street is reserved for VIPs, and there aren't any free parking lots in the area (so you have to pay for lot parking or find street parking) read more

Great time for a baseball game. Love this outdoor stadium. It was great even though the weather was chilly and rainy. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. Took in a ballpark hotdog and icy cold Dr. Pepper along with some peanuts. The pricing for Bees tickets are not bad I think we paid around 20.00 per ticket and so worth it for a day at the park. We even took the trax train in to save on parking, that made for great people watching lol Oh and most importantly...they do not accept cash for concessions and if you want a pretzel you will need to scan a QR code, pay on the app and show the pretzel girl your order number. We came to a Bee's game in June on a Monday night. There was a great Family Night deal for a group of seats together. What a great idea and a fun activity for families to do together! On family night, the regular hot dogs are only $1. Our group also had drinks, some ice cream and a chicken tenders meal. The chicken tenders were decent, nothing extraordinary, but not bad. The French fries were tasty! The hot dogs are great for the price, I love a good deal. The seats weren't very close to the field at all, in the upper area, but we were not in direct sunlight which was nice. I felt like I could see the players decent. It did get a bit chilly when the sun went down, so I would definitely recommend taking a hoodie or jacket. I would for sure recommend any family or small group to go to a game on a family night! read more

Great minor league stadium for the Anaheim Angels' AAA affiliate. The snow covered mountain views and the choice to sit in $20 conventional seats, an outfield bern or $700 suite is unique. The Bees are competitive, but the food and beverages are lackluster. The Chick-fil-a was closed/locked for a Friday night game and the only decent substitute are $6 hot dogs. The beer selection is terribly overpriced domestic hell. Great facility, but could be run far better operationally. It's best to eat before or after the game elsewhere. Given how quickly MLB games are played now, it's not difficult...keep n mind MLB wants 48 minute games like basketball with its new rule changes. They don't have the draconian clear purse requirement for ladies, the facility is safe with police there and for minor league baseball has a decent gift shop. There's no score cards or pencils available if you wish to keep score, so you must bring your own. The bathrooms aren't touch-less and could be improved. If you don't walk or take light rail (TRAX) it'a $7 to park across the street. The mascot is an adorable bee, who did backflips on the home dugouts ceiling. They honored local little leaguers before the game and had kids running the bases after the game so community engagement's good, but the terrible netting MLB has enacted in all stadiums greatly impedes the view of everything and makes photography mostly impossible. It's nice they have several family and other discount nights throughout the year. There's not a lot of shade but the views are great from everywhere. It's sad they use Ticketmaster and don't sell their own tickets; it feels weird doing digital tickets on my phone for a minor league baseball game; it also makes tickets more expensive. read more

No suite for me tonight (apparently my last review was a long while ago when I sat here in a suite) but I was again reminded of how great this park really is. I mean, you sit there and watch a game with those mountains as a backdrop and you really can't imagine how anyone else in any other city can stand to watch a game without them. To be honest, it was made even more special by the fact that we have spent the last year-plus cooped up, and this was by far the largest gathering of people I've attended in that time. But even so, on a weeknight game it was still pretty chill and not a ton of people in the seats. It's a clean facility, in great shape, and whether you're out on a blanket watching from beyond the home run wall, or in the seats, there's not a bad view in the place. Due to the quiet nature of the weeknight game we found parking just a few blocks away without a problem, but on a busy night (read: on a fireworks night) you're not going to be that lucky. There are deals to be had--a few times throughout the season they do family nights where tickets start at just $5 so be sure to pay attention and go support the home team sometime over the summer. read more

We went to the game , enjoyed the food and had a pleasant time until the end. The event staff lady with bright purple hair told us we needed to leave 3 min after the game ended. We were waiting for our Lyft 3 min away while Ron's of people just chilled in their seats after the game. We're the last in our section cause it was not full for the game to begin with. She told us we needed to leave. I told her we are about to get up and leave and she said - no we needed to go right then and there. Not an exaggeration 3 min after the game ended. This staff member was rude and blunt. Meanwhile in all the other sections there were tons of people meandering . Kinda put a damper on a fun night. Customer service is huge and she needs to learn how to better approach people. read more

This is a fun ballpark that hosts fantastic games! We love our Bees and always enjoy watching the games. A few things I've noticed: * Parking is somewhat limited. There is a lot across the street, but some of it is for Trax and there are signs posted that it's not for ballpark parking. Ride Trax to save yourself from the hassle. * The food options are limited-what you might expect from a ballpark. Great hot dogs and ice cream though! * The bathrooms see a lot of traffic, but are pretty well maintained. Be kind and go in the correct door-don't walk "in" the "out." * Pay attention to the entertainment beyond the game. They do a nice job of interacting with the crowd and making it fun for everyone. * There is not a bad seat in the place. Even on the grass! And those grass seats have a great chance of catching home run balls. read more

If the Bees weren't the AAA affiliate of the Anaheim Angels, I don't know if I would have come here... but the Angels have been on a losing streak, so maybe some of these players will get called up soon. The weather was beautiful and the seats affordable. The stadium feels cozy; I mostly loved looking to the outfield and mountains... and the batters since we sat behind the Bees' dugout. Got to see Matt Thaiss, Andrew Knapp, Jered Kelenic in addition to Justin Upton (!) too bad Angels released him, so he was playing for Tacoma. It is honestly hard to beat a night out with the family or friends watching a ballgame, and the Smith's Ballpark provides a glorious backdrop with views that are unrivaled by nearly any other professional baseball field. The Wasatch mountain range is showcased by the layout of Smith's Ballpark, and there's not a bad seat in the house (as a hockey guy, I'm not sure you can properly call a baseball stadium a "house", but I'm going with it). The "house" offers a wide variety of food choices from traditional hotdogs and brats, and even some pretty darn good BBQ options out in right field. There are playgrounds for the kids, large eating areas with picnic tables and a great minor league summer night atmosphere that will have you reminiscing of your younger days at the ballpark--any ballpark. I came here strictly to do yoga at the ball park. The bees game was included. I'm not a huge sports fan so this is my first baseball stadium I've attended. There's not much shade unless you wear a hat or sit under the seats above you. The drink and food selection is pretty basic with the over priced hot dogs, pretzels, burgers and fries. I had to go 2 different venues to get cheese fries. Order fries at 1 and order cheese at the other. If you're not into the game like me, it's fun to people watch and hear bats crack when hitting the baseball. read more

Cool stadium to watch triple A baseball. Easily accessible from downtown SLC off the TRAXX or an easy walk in good weather. Seats are reasonable/cheap and great views from this smallish stadium. The food options are what you would expect - burgers, dogs, fries, slices of pizza, ice cream helmets, and some Mexican food. The available craft beers are limited, but decent - Goose Island IPA, and a few others. The competition is good as this is AAA which is one level below making it to "the Show". They have general admission seating in the outfield (bring your blanket and sit on the grass), and there is also a train that kids can ride in the outfield. This is as good as it gets in Utah. From all the different stadium name changes it's hard to keep up. Now I believe it's called The Smith's Stadium. From the cheap tickets, but yet overpriced food this is the place to be. Fresh squeezed lemonade with a large bag of kettle corn popcorn always satisfies my carnival cravings! Convenient location right in the heart of SLC. My recommendation would be to take the trax to avoid all the nonsense of being stuck in traffic. There's no free parking lots near by, so be prepared to pay between $3-6 to park. If you're lucky you can find a spot on the side of the streets. The stadium is well kept and always clean. If you go on a firework night be prepared for a full house and drunken fans. Yes, the Bee's do have loyal fans, believe it or not. Any other night is great; you'll basically have your choice to sit where you please and really be able to enjoy the game without all of the extras. If you have children and they get bored, they have an updated playground that they would find amusing. My tip: Cheap fun makes for a happy life. read more

I was pretty impressed with Smith's Ballpark as it was the first Minor League park I've been to. The park itself is located near downtown Salt Lake City and it's not very big, but it certainly fills up nicely. The seats are pretty standard and there are different levels and prices for seats depending on where you want to be. I got a great seat near home plate for about $30 but there are seats that are only ~$10. There's also lawn seating. The food options here are plentiful and I thought the park does a good job at providing a variety of different dishes for everybody, from specialty dogs to hamburgers and barbecue. There are fireworks after the games too which is an excellent way to top off the night. I can't wait to return! read more

America's favorite pastime is what you'll enjoy at this South Salt Lake stadium. The Bee's aren't the greatest time, but if baseball is your thing, then I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here. The sport isn't my favorite, but if you don't have better plans, tickets are inexpensive and there are often fireworks shows at the end. It's awesome getting to lay out on the field while viewing pretty displays of air pollutants. What's even more awesome than that is their hot dogs. They are huge and really tasty. read more

I have to admit I am not a huge baseball fan so it has been year's since I went to a Baseball game. My husband, however, is a rabid baseball fan so I dusted off my best baseball hat and headed out to the park. The best thing about Smith's Ballpark is you don't really have to be a big fan. It's a great place to people watch, eat lots of food that is probably bad for you for hours and if you have kids they have a cute train that runs around the perimeter all night. We ate hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn and cracker jacks. I know just like the song we sang at the 7th inning stretch. Baseball has a new fan, I learned more about the game because my husband knows so much. I learned you always have to look up because a foul ball is headed your way. It's the perfect way to spend a summer night watching the Boys of Summer too. read more

One of the better MiLb ballparks ice been to. In fact it's probably top 3. The seats are great, there's a lot of community support, the food is decent, and the view is amazing. Really captures the beauty of SLC. There's ONE drawback: all the beers here are under 4%. Honestly I drank so many just trying to get my usual baseball buzz on that I felt sleepy, bloated, and sick by the 7th inning. In the era of uber-star athletes playing in stadiums where it costs a months pay to enter (and two months pay to park), it's nice to get back to the feel of the minor leagues. Springmobile Ballpark (formerly Franklin Covey Field) is the home of the Salt Lake City Bees. It's a very intimate stadium which seats 15500 fans and has easy access from the street. There's two decks with of the seats in the lower bowl. With the more cozy feel, the sightlines are great and it seems as if you're right next to the players. I was close enough that I almost leaned forward to tell the batter "I think this is the fastball" just before the pitch. And during breaks in the action, or if you're a little bored, there is a spectacular view of the Wasatch range across the outfield. Even if you don't like baseball, this is the perfect place to sprawl out in the sunshine, sip a beer and take in the view. There's also a decent range of refreshments available in the concourse; nachos, churros, burgers, fries and hotdogs. I showed up on a Thursday, only to find that it was "Thirsty Thursday". All beers were $2.75 and other drinks were a dollar off. My SLC-native buddy sitting next to me mentioned that they also have hotdog promotion nights (although I'm not clear on how often this is). So definitely recommended on multiple levels as a place to visit and catch a game. read more

We love coming here with our kids. Train rides, a playground, lots of food options, wide open spaces to run, and a mini ball field make for the perfect night for all. We prefer sitting with blankets on the grass because the kids can run around and we can talk and wander as we please. We brought our big double stroller with blankets, sweatshirts, snacks, and ball for our kids and we got in and around without a problem. Parking around the area is $5-$8 in the lots across the street, food is about $6-$12 per person, they have free train rides, dessert options, and places to host events. It's a great park not very far from downtown Salt Lake. Parking can be a bit interesting; there are many local parking lots that turn into paid parking for games and events nearby. Be prepared to pay between 10 to 20 bucks for these lots depending on how close they are to the park. But it's worth it to know you've got a space just a block away with easy access to the freeway. The park itself is great. It's a minor league park, so it's way more intimate because of its size. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. Its seats are comfortable and it's kept very clean. I'd make sure you'd wear some sunscreen, especially for the day games, as some seats are directly in the sun when it's the brutalist. They've also got clean restrooms and plenty of vendors with typical baseball food for reasonable prices. I went here recently to see America play for a 4th of July event. The tickets were very reasonable, 25 bucks, and one could either enjoy a seat on the grassy outfield near the stage or sit in the lower deck. The sound systems put out a great sound and the performance was a lot of fun. Afterwards, there was a fireworks show unlike anything I've seen before. 30 minutes of pure beauty in the sky. I just love this place. What else can I say? Giving a baseball ballpark a bad review is just being a bad person. The chicken tenders and fries basket is delightful, the Philly cheese steak basket is good. I wish their Fanzz team shop would get some USA made ballcaps, but that's just because I'm a hat collector and the Chinese caps blow. Don't go on Thursdays unless you're just wanting cheap booze. I hate when people can't control themselves and think the ballpark is just a big bar. We've left multiple times in the 7th inning because it is no longer family friendly thanks to the inconsiderate drunkards and their filthy language. Let's take a minute and just talk about the ball park. You can love this ball park without being a Bees fan, or even a huge baseball fan. This park is just a great time. It screams summer. The Food: I have had pizza, nachos, Korean BBQ, ice cream, peanuts and of course hot dogs and beer here. I have yet to have anything that wasn't fantastic. Let's talk hot dogs for a minute, you can get your Jumbo for 5, (it's too big for my mouth) or a regular for 4. I usually get two regulars. They are all beef hot dogs and a bunch of condiments are really close by and they are always full and clean. If you want more than a hot dog with mustard and relish. There are some huge footling dogs just to the left of the entrance. They have all sorts of toppings, and a few niche dogs like bratwurst and a Chicago dog. I've had it all. It's all great! If you don't want a dog, like I said there are burgers, fries, pizza, Mexican food and Korean BBQ. The Drinks: 5 dollars for a sick black Bees cup and 32oz of soda. Like collector edition stuff. I always get one to take home. I think they are cool! But beers man... you have to have brews! There are drafts for 8 dollars for 24 oz but you only get like 22. There are cans for 8 and some of the options have 25 oz. Pro tip!! Buy drafts first and then pour your cans into the extra cups. (Because drinking from a fan isn't cool). The Price: Its a ball park. It's kinda like a fair. The prices are double what you'd pay anywhere else. But it's so good. And frankly worth it for a date night or a bro fest. They also have a bunch of deals that go on all week so check those out to save some cash. The smells, the people, the sounds and the game. It all just comes together. Get a balcony seat. That way you're close to the action but you don't have to pay for it. 4 stars just because of price. :( read more

Went to Smith's Ballpark for the first time today...a Memorial Day matinee game starting at 1:05 PM. I have to give this place five stars. Let me explain why. 1) Nice recovery. I had trouble buying tickets online because of some confusion between the account I was attempting to open and my ticket-purchasing account for Real Salt Lake. I guess the kudos should go to the SL Bees organization for this...but the young man who helped me get my ticket over the phone was a superstar... what a joy to have somebody helpful and knowledgeable help you get your ticket with little hassle. I may forego using the Bee's website from now on and just pick up the phone. My ticket was sitting in an envelope at Will Call as promised... no problems. 2) Nice ballpark. i've enjoyed AAA baseball over the years in and around Southern California. The ballparks (I hesitate to use the word "stadiums" for these places... the feeling is much more intimate, much more comfortable at these minor-league parks). in Ontario, Lancaster...both great places to watch a game. Smith's Ballpark has them beat hands-down. Truly not a bad seat in the house. 3) Nice facilities. The bathrooms I went into were clean and not smelly like so many places where lots of people (i.e., men) gather and drink a lot of beer. It seems to be the attitude in Salt Lake City... this is our city, our team, our ballpark... let's keep it nice! 4) Nice souvenir shop: Fanzz. If you want a Bee's cap or shirt or pen or toy... this is the place, Great staff and service... they even helped me look for a cap for my gigantic melon head. And found one! 5) Nice food stands. O.K. prices have gone through the roof and you can go through $50.00 pretty quickly nowadays.. but the food is good, the beer is cold...and the people seem to have a good attitude. That's all you can ask for at a baseball game. and 6) Nice baseball. No... it's not The Show... but these guys are out there putting on the best "show" in town... the occasional major-leaguer on rehab assignment might be playing...alongside "kids" trying to make a name for themselves - OK - the Bees lost 10-6 today... but there were a lot of hits and lots of action. Nope. Okay, Salt Lakeians, get out your lynchin' ropes, I can't stand this place. Perhaps this is just my experience, but the 2 times I have been here (tonight being the second), we had at least one encounter with someone that was super rude and incompetant. Like, to the extreme. I understand its a ballpark, and not the Ritz Carlton... I do. But, customer service is still a standard and should be something that is taken somewhat seriously when you're dropping around $80 (give or take) for an evening for 2 people at the ballpark. For instance, this evening, I came out of the restroom (no toliet paper =/ ) to find Manfriend looking extremely frustrated at the beer line. As I approached, I learned that the cashier charged him for FOUR beers on his card, instead of just the ONE that he ordered. Now, at $7.50 a pop, you can probably understand his frustration. What was even MORE frustrating was the cashier, an older woman, who was acting like WE were the nuissance in this situation, and quickly snapped at us to "MOVE OVER" because we were preventing her from helping other customers. When the "manager" finally arrived, she said she would take his name and number, and call him at the end of the evening, once the tills were counted, and refund the money IF it showed it was indeed over. Ummmm... no. The cashier knew and admitted what had happened, and we just wanted the money for the 3 overcharged beverages. He calmly explained this to her, and after not getting through to her the first time, he started to get a little annoyed. She informed him rudely that she would "have him thrown right out", and walked over to the cashier and told her to just give her the money because she "didn't want to deal with this guy". UN-FUCKING-REAL. In any establishment I have worked for, this kind of behavior would warrant automatic termination. I really wish this was an exaggeration. Really. The only reason this place gets one extra star, is due to the sweet girl that works at one of the food counters. I've also experienced great customer service at one of the hotdog stands... not sure of the name, but they serve ridiculously large, perhaps footlong? dogs. And, the Bees kinda suck. I was hopeful, because I am HUGE Angels fan. But I just don't have an attachment to the team, and, I can see the fireworks from my house. So, I will be enjoying them from the comfort of my own home from now on. No need to go be treated like crap, in my opinion. read more

Not a bad place to go at all, especially if you're looking for a cheep family outing. I usually try and go at least three times a year, just because I really love Baseball and I usually try and time it around when there are MLB players in town or if there is nothing else to do and I have been in my house the last eight nights in a row. It is close to downtown, so the parking situation is more than a bit of a joke. There is a large lot across the street, but they sure seem to pay attention to when there are MLB players or it's a fireworks night and they raise their prices accordingly. As a Minor League stadium goes, this one is in pretty decent shape and there are a few things that make it so that it's not just cookie cutter. The food is decently priced and Wednesdays are $1 Hot Dog night. The stadium is usually pretty empty, and tickets are next to nothing. There's no ushers so if you want, you can buy a super cheap ticket and then just go sit basically anywhere. It's a nice place overall, the only major downside is really the parking. read more

This little ballpark for the local SLC Bees is a great fit for the SLC community. The Bees are the farm team for the Angels. The tickets are cheap on the lawn ($7) and go as high as around $30. The ballpark is a fun place for all ages. Spring Mobile serves various baseball foods and beer. There are activities for children too such as the train in the outfield and the Bee that comes around the stands. This ballpark features a beautiful view of the mountains and is very clean. Make sure to check the specials the ballpark features. On Thursdays, all drinks are $2.75 and they have fireworks or giveaways usually. One of the best times are the fireworks during July 4th weekend. After the game, the Bees put on a great firework show and you can even go on the field. Make sure to bring blankets though.
