But My sciatic pain wouldnt let up so figured id give it a try. Ive been to plenty of MDs, chiropractors, PTs, and they all help for a couple days but the results dont last long. After 3 visits over a span of a month my sciatica is so much better. This is the first time my Dr actually explained the problem. The exercises he gave me seemed random at first but work!! I didn't know where to start but I trusted YELP reviews to FHS Chiro. My first visit with Dr. J was great, he didn't try to make me do x-rays and try to see me 3-5 times a week, sell me supplements, homeopathic oils, etc etc. He accessed me and based off his knowledge, experience, and education he was able to see what was going on with me and get a plan in place. I was seeing him every other week, down to every 3rd week. I never felt that he was taking advantage of my claim, like A LOT of chiropractors do. My appointment was never an in and out 10 minutes. It was always a genuine how are you, let's talk, let's go over movements, things I can do day to day to improve myself and make changes to have lasting effects. He is not your stereotypical chiropractor, I would describe his techniques as modern: chiropractor/physical therapist/massage therapist in one. Functional health at its best. I called around looking for a massage on short notice, and Angel Massage was the only place with availability, so I booked it. The massage itself was effective. I told her where I was having problems, and she dug in deep and worked the areas thoroughly. By the end of the session, the tightness in my hip and lower back had loosened up significantly, and I felt much better. So on that front, she delivered. That said, the experience was unusual in a few ways. You're given only a small towel to cover up. If you're modest, this probably isn't the place for you. The most surprising moment was when the massage therapist climbed onto the table and straddled over me to work on my back. I've had plenty of sports therapy massages over the years, and I've never had a therapist get up on the table. It caught me off guard and made me uncomfortable. Also worth noting: after I paid for the massage with a card, she insisted on a cash tip. That felt a bit awkward and put me on the spot. Bottom line, she got the job done, and I left feeling better than when I walked in. But between the unconventional techniques and the overall vibe, I'm not sure I'd go back.
