I love this smiths! It reminds of Fred Myers which was the equivalent of this. Lots of nostalgia for me. But it's a massive smiths, big selections, a place you can take your kids to shop to look at toys and other things. very very clean. They have a great shampoo and deodorant selection for men which is nice. Because normally other stores the men's selection is just tiny and picked over. very affordable prices as well. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the employees are not very helpful or they have head phones in so it's hard to get their attention when you do need something. read more

I was really impressed with the wide variety of things available at Smith's Marketplace. They have a really upscale florist where I got one of the most beautiful floral arrangements. I never would have expected that my most favorite floral arrangement would come from a supermarket! In addition to the florist, they have a fine jewelry section, sushi, delicatessen, bakery, clothing, makeup, kitchen appliances, kitchenware, pharmacy, Starbucks, and so much more! Just a quick stop to get some bagels and hygienic products. I enjoy their fresh baked bagels, particularly the jalapeño, green chile and blueberry ones. Somedays I arrive late morning and they are already sold out. They are very good and seem popular. They have an ample variety of hygienic products for men. Shaving cream, after shave, soap and lotions from brands that I could only find on the Internet or at their store. This particular store is expansive and well kept. Easy to find the things I need. I've been actively shopping here for a couple years after I decided to boycott the big box store that I had been going to. I like Smith's because it has a more "local" feel to me (I know they have lots of locations and are affiliated with Kroger, so they are not really small, but the ambiance feels much better than where I was before). One thing I dislike about Smiths is how they do pricing and sales. Oftentimes, you have to download a digital coupon to get the price posted in the store. Or you have to buy five items that are included in a deal to get the price. That's hard to keep track of, which I'm sure they do intentionally. I'd prefer more straightforward pricing without the games. They also recently stopped accepting Visa credit cards. This was a huge disappointment to our household, but we stuck it out anyway. I love seeing the "manager's special" goodies in the carts at the back of the store. Often there are fresh flowers that are past their prime, but have a few days left in them. The cashiers are also very friendly, which makes the grocery shopping experience pleasant. read more

This place is my wife and I's favorite place to shop. It's a newer smiths too, so everything is pretty much spread apart. And it's a huge smiths too! There are times where I need to find something and get a little too overwhelmed because of how big this place is. Since covid, we usually shop around during the evening times to avoid a lot of people and usually around 9pm, there isn't much people here. Although there are a few customers that do no wear masks and to top it off there is a huge sign outside indicating everyone should wear masks. Regardless, I do love this smiths. They're helpful with everything. And I do live closer to the one in herriman but we still are willing to drive the few extra miles to get to this place. read more

I have mixed reviews of this store. ClickList is great and I love the service. The ClickList team has always been great, professional, and really have gone above and beyond for me (one time one of the employees gave my car a jump when the battery decided to die!). I have rarely had an issue with product availability and like I said the staff are wonderful. On my last order I received a few items that were damaged. Usually this is not a problem and I just return the items. Well during Covid this is a whole other issue. On my visit to return items in store the woman who was working at the customer service counter was not wearing a mask. She wore instead a face shield only, which doesn't prevent the spread of Covid 19. I honestly didn't want to get near her because well I don't know if she has Covid or has been exposed, she clearly wasn't taking precautions and the store wasn't making her take precautions. She made my discomfort with her lack of mask difficult for me to make my return and I didn't appreciate this. I shouldn't have to get close to sign something when you are breathing over it. It was upsetting and it felt unsafe. I just feel this employee behavior is very dangerous, selfish, and lazy. She is endangering the public and other employees. My family has shopped at Kroger stores for many years in this state and in others and haven't ever had any problems. But this just felt gross and disrespectful given how many people are sick and have died. I am not sure if we will return, definitely not during the pandemic. Edit for update: I reached out to Kroger to let them know about my experience and how unsafe the store felt due to their employee not wearing a mask. I received a very bland blanket email response that basically talked more about understanding why customers are not wearing masks and little about what the family of stores is doing to ensure a safe shopping experience for their customers or safe conditions for their staff. It seems Kroger/Smiths doesn't understand that Covid is spread through spit, snot, and breathing and that face shields don't prevent it. No one should be in the stores without a mask. Wear a mask. It's not hard. I wouldn't recommend this store if you are an at risk person, love anyone who could be at risk, or just are a person who just doesn't want to get sick. Gross. read more

Bad experience using click list here. We were told our order would be finished at 4pm. Told them we were on our way through the app and it wasn't until we arrived that they said they're actually not ready and to come back at 6pm. I would normally give this store a 5 star review, but my last two experiences here have been 2 star quality. Don't get me wrong, I love the facility, the way it is laid out, the freshness and quality of food, the friendliness of the employees, and usually I am checked out in a timely manner. However, the last two times I have come in, I have noticed it has been since they have decided to "slash" the prices with everyone wearing their yellow shirts, I have had a full cart, with a bunch of fresh food, a 2 year old, I have been directed to use self check out because the lines were so long. Both times, I have had a worker help me the entire time, but she had to leave numerous times to help other self checkout customers, so I am having to scan my items while trying to contain my two year old from escaping the cart and throwing a fit. Please, get more cashiers or don't slash your prices. You're not walmart and I shop at Smith's to get faster checkout. Also, I don't want to use click list. So if this is some kind of con to get me to use online shopping to keep me out of the store, it won't work. read more

Happened to be in the area and hit this place up because I didn't anticipate being out there ever again. Toys are strongly lacking at this location, but the rest of it seemed pretty solid. I couldn't find gas pumps, which is odd for a Marketplace, but everything else, layout and selection, was all pretty solid. The front-end staff needs to be retrained on how not to create the impression that they're viewing everyone as potential thieves, as that gets old very quickly, as in immediately. It was so annoying here that I'm docking this place a star behind that nuisance. read more

This is nice new clean store. They don't have any high end brands. They sell Kroger brand foods. They have a wide variety of fresh hot foods. There is a Starbucks but they are not Starbucks employees and the quality shows. They serve hot food and some of it is good. The Chinese food is absolutely horrid. Even the rice is bland and tasteless. Avoid at all costs. The fresh pasta selection is very poor. I guess they have never heard of linguine or fettuccine or capellini. The cheese selection is very good. The employees are very nice and helpful. Don't use the in store info phone system. They never ever answer. The automated announcement is going off every time I've been in the store. The store does not take Apple Pay but they do take something called Samsung Pay. Go figure. Hope it doesn't explode. This place blew me away. I'm a loyal Smith's shopper, and generally find their selection and produce to be among the best in Utah. This new location though, wow. Expansive building, easily-to-navigate layout, friendly service, wide produce and cheese selection (though it's missing the Baked Bread Cheese that all the other ones have. WHY?!?!?! There seems to be plenty of parking space, and whatnot as well. Also, if you're looking for beer, this place has a massive selection. More so than any other grocery store in the area. I don't buy a lot of booze, but walk past the isle, and you can't help but notice it. As an avid cook, food writer, and shopper, I've tried nearly all the grocery stores within 15 miles of South Jordan, and this place is right at the top. Way to go Smith's. High five. Fist bump. If I could give it zero stars I would. The store is nice don't get me wrong but their customer service is the worst I've seen in the state. They miss-priced items and then just take them off your hands and don't do anything else about it, not even a "sorry" or anything. But come back a week after and the same item at the same price. Their employees apparently don't like working there cause not even a "hello" can give you. Their managers don't care either. Nope, produce was available and many dumb questions were gleefully handled, checker (blessing very nice and not robotic) aaaand CAIT, friendly, communicated bagging manuevers w several customers and me .. WOW. Finally I loaded up my car happy then boom another guy offers to take my cart so I don't have to push it back . Love this store!! It's always clean, groceries stocked, and nice employees! ClickList is also awesome and they try their best to get you exactly what you need. I ordered small avocados one time and the employee said they didn't look good, so they gave me the large avocados for the price of the small! Awesome. The ONLY thing I think they could work on, is maybe training the baggers to bag groceries better. Multiple times we've gotten home to find chemicals with food, raw meat with ready to eat food, bananas bagged with heavy items, smashed bread, eggs in with heavy things, etc. Often times I'd rather just bag my own stuff. The customer service here is fantastic. There are even staff members who know and remember my name. Today I was carrying too much stuff (I went for one thing.....so obviously I ended up with 10). One of the Deli employees noticed and unbeknownst to me she stepped in and got me a basket. This was embarrassing (on my end) and very kind and helpful. They stopped what they were doing on a Saturday afternoon to make sure I was taken care of. The people at the meat counter are always willing to offer samples and recipes too. read more

My Complaint I started Western Union transfer on line, then followed the location instruction on the website and went to Smith #276 (addr. 5448 W Daybreak PKWY. UT) to pay the money around 12:00 at noon on Sept 20, but was told by a woman inside the counter that the store only accepted the money transfer for customer that filled out the form right there in person, if I had done the form online and only came to pay , the store didn't have this kind service, I had to go to another store to pay my transaction money!! So I told her I didn't want to run around , I'd fill my form all over again, then she said what about the transaction you had already made online? I told her let me worry about it, just give me the form. Instead of her giving the form , she asked my phone #, in 1 minute , she pulled up my information from computer, and started processing the transaction and it was completed in 12:11. This agent working attitude is awful!! and She has absolutely no idea what is customer service . read more

The blonde haired lady who usually works at self-checkout in the mornings on the West side of the store seems to racially profile me every time I go into the store. I spend a lot of money at this store monthly so I take this personally. Last weekend, I was in the store with my dad who was visiting from California. She comes up and stands right behind us (my dad was at the self check out right next to me) and she is just watching us like a hawk. I ask her if there is a reason why she is standing over us and she tries to get snide and say "Well this is my place where I stand." That's funny because before we came to purchase our stuff, she was standing at the computer at the front of the self checkout area. This lady has ruined my perception of this store and I have decided to spend my money elsewhere. The customers are the reason you have a paycheck CHICK. You need to stay in your lane. read more

Click list fail. Apparently this store has no way to let their click list customers know that an order scheduled for pickup will not be ready on time. I was told all orders in my same time slot were late - like this is supposed to make it right? I could wait in the parking lot for an hour (no thanks) or leave & come back, with no guarantee the order would be ready on a second attempt. Complete waste of time. Cancelled my order & left.
