I couldn't find any clear resources on how to fix this myself, and local tailors said they couldn't handle luggage repair, but recommended asking a cobbler. I found Mr Shine on Google and called ahead to see if they repair luggage, and then dropped off the next day. I was informed that they could try to replace the slider & pull, but that it may not be possible given some damage to the zipper, and they would keep me updated. Because they were unsure of the possible repair, I didn't have to pay anything at drop off (I really appreciated their transparency!). I got a call a few days later that the suitcase was fixed, and they were able to do the cheaper option after all. At pickup, the zipper teeth were straight, there was a leather reinforcement added to the end of the track, and the slider and pull were new and moved around smoothly. Their team is clearly skilled at what they do, especially for a repair that seemingly no other business wants to touch! They have beautiful handmade shoes on display in the store as well. The staff were kind and helpful both in person and over the phone. Definitely recommend for shoe, luggage, handbag repair & more!

He said they would be only a bit higher once he put them in. When I picked up the shoes he had instead added entire resoles to both shoes, saying there was a "bump" that prevented just doing the heel on one shoe. No extra charge but now my thin, minimal shoes had 1/4" soles. Right away I took a weeklong trip and on the second day, the entire sewing around one shoe Popped open, with all the threads snapped off short. The other shoe had started to snap off, too. A shoe repair shop said the Little Boot repair had sanded the threads during the resoling and they should redo them. When I returned, Fernando and I respectfully disagreed about whether he had caused the separation, but he generously agreed to resew them at no charge. I picked them up today, and he still did not charge me. He is still assertively claiming he did not cause the problem. I am not persuaded either way. However, my soft, flexible shoes are not minimal any more. And I spent 6 days of my trip in borrowed shoes that were uncomfortable on my bunion. You can take what you want from this tale. He asked for a review and there it is.

It is getting harder and harder to find a quality repair shop, when you do find one you keep giving them business. My father, who now lives in Utah, sent me his boots to have them repaired at Kuyper's. I just picked up a pair of Danskos that needed a new heel cap. I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. The quality of work is better than I have experienced at Longmont and Boulder shoe repair shops, the cost is 30% less than Longmont and Boulder, and Kuyper's puts a buff on your shoes before they return them to you. This last part, putting a shine on your shoes before they are returned to you is actually a very big deal. It really reflects a craftsman who is proud of his work and wants to go the extra mile and present his work to you in the best possible way. Shops which hand you back your shoes as dirty and scuffed up as you brought them in, or want to charge you an arm and a leg just to run the shoes over a buffer, are just an embarrassment. Go to Kuyper's, you will speak directly to the man who will be repairing your shoes, you will get a higher quality result, you will pay less money, and you will be patronizing a shop which is proud of it's work.

I was getting ready to go on a cruise and found the perfect dress for formal night but it was way too long. I either needed to grow another 5 inches or find a tailor. Since I doubted I could grow 5 inches in one week, I had to place my bet on the tailor. I did some searching on yelp, dexknows, and just on the internet in general. The Tailoring Palace had some wonderful reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I went in and the owner greeted me at the desk. He was pleasant, cheerful, and professional. He took the time to listen to what I needed and how soon I needed it. He had me put on the dress (ladies, remember to bring the shoes you plan to wear with this and any body shapers so the dress hangs just like it will when you wear it) and stand up on a box in front of the mirror. He took the time to make sure he knew how short I wanted it and marked the dress with his chalk. I was leaving in four days and he said he would have it ready for me the day before I left. I went in to pick up my dress and his wife was there this time. She is also a very nice person. She had me try the dress on again just to make sure we didn't need any last minute changes. The dress was PERFECT! I can now go on my cruise and not worry about having to hike up my dress to walk or stepping on it. The price was much less expensive than I thought it would be. I figured I would pay the same price of my dress for the tailoring. Not even close! I paid only $30. He does leather jackets, dresses, suits, just about another you wear that needs to be altered. Please go and give this place a shot. They are wonderful people, do incredible work, and are well worth the price.
