Smitty's is well known for it's 'all day breakfast'. If you're looking for a breakfast date or if you're looking to grab an egg benedict any time of the day, Smitty's is the place to go! If however, you are looking for a cheap place to eat....you may want to keep looking. It is incredibly expensive compared to most other places and well let's admit, eggs are eggs. Smitty's make your typical breakfast's. My favourite is the bacon and egg breakfast. It consists of 2 pieces of bacon (small pieces), eggs (any style), hash browns (mom's are better), and toast (that is usually cold). My boyfriend and I usually have a bill around $30 for the 2 of us to eat. It's not usually my first breakfast choice because of the cost.

Smitty's - Pancakes anyone! We go here for the pancakes, lots of syrup, to make sure you get your sugar fix. I know this is not the best place on the market to eat, but it sure satisfies our craving for some cakes.

Retried hashbrowns anyone?? Look at that parsley... you can also see the pseudo maple sausages

Why is it so difficult to keep a coffee cup full at this place. It's worse than Cora's for sure when it comes to getting a coffee. I walked in here, seated right away to a sticky table and sticky booth seat. I mean super syrup sticky. My server did a jazz hands jump from the side over to our table and said "HI!!!", it's TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING FOR JAZZ HANDS!!!!! Ordered a coffee and eggs benny along with one pancake. When I picked up my coffee the saucer stuck to the cup, I looked at my friend and said "Cheers!!!". We both tried for a picture but then the saucer fell to the table and made an unholy racket. The whole place stared at me. Ok, the food SUCKSSSSSSS! I mean super sucks. My hollandaise sauce was congealed and gross and too savoury, like thick vinegar. The "maple" sausage tasted like licking a green tree air freshener from the mirror of your car. Not maple more like chemically added pine flavour. The pancake was like something you'd get at McD's, and no amount of Syrup can fix that. They have I got two types of ketchup but I strongly suspect they are both from the same barrel out back. I'm still pissed about the coffee man... just come around once every 15 mins and even that would be good. This whole place needs a hosing down and new management. On the bright side there was this really cute kid in the booth next to us to make faces at :) that got smitty the second star.

I really like their food here. Great prices and amazing food selections. Although I do find some of the staff to be rude. They are always fast to seat you. And they know the specials like it was second nature to them.

This time I had the Rocky Mountain Burger! Tasty and maybe a 6 out of 10. On Fridays they have seafood chowder on special and it usually very good. Excellent service as usual. Hey! they have free wi-fi just ask for the code.

    Mmmmmm chocolate milkshake.

Open on Canada Day, all day breakfast, and lots of selection. It's a great place to go to start the day. Service was good, atmosphere was good. I got the nachos and a chocolate milkshake, both delicious. no complaintz :^) and ill be back here for sure.

Blah. Average food that I could cook myself at extremely high prices! And the service is usually slow.

Better service and portions than the spring garden location. Coffee is still a bit pricy but the meals were a good value for the portions.

We always like coming here. Our waitress was really good giving us lots of time to decide what to order. Breakfast for supper is the best.!

What do you think of when you're heading out east ? Seafood of course ! Let me tell you... I've got…read morea new appreciation for it after my trip last week. We've had a trip planned to golf Cabot for the last few years. The texts and emails were flying delays, cancelled trips and in general , I never thought it would happen. Surprisingly, Halifax was a quick little flight from Toronto and am I ever glad we did it. First off, we talked about getting lobster on the side of the road at shacks etc, blah blah blah but as soon as we landed we headed to meet a friend who said we must try this lobster croissant sandwich at The Drift. OMG OMG OMG ! Could be one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted but you know what was even better, the Chablis, no, the lobster pasta, no... It was the lobster fritters. They were insane ! The fritters are a bit like a conch if you've ever had that in the BVIs but they are battered so perfectly with a zesty hint of like that is so perfect, it's too hard to describe. Over the top crispy timbit deliciousness with lobster. The drift is a MAJOR win, it's along the water in Halifaxs best hotel the Muir and it's just perfect. Our trip was filled with Oysters and I have to say, each place had slightly different variations but I will NEVER say I had a better Oyster than in Halifax. If you hear me say it, just call me out because we had at least 4 Oysters each at around 6 places and they were all better than anywhere I've ever eaten in the world, almost to the point where I didn't need the sides (almost). I am so glad I visited Halifax, oh and by the way, the golf at Cabot was insane ! INSANE ! Was it better than Cabot St Lucia ? Nope, but I give Cabot St Lucia a 9.8 and I give Cabot Cape Breton a 9.6. STOP right there ! I had the crab shack , I had the crab shack and oh my gosh was it good. Just outside Cabot is the best little shack with the freshest little sandwiches on fluffy buns. Check it out right here- get the mainlander sandwich and the crab bretoner. The mainlander is warm lobster spiced up on the bun, heaven ! And the crab bretoner is chilled crab, mix up perfectly with aioli, green on and a few other things. If you're near Inverness you better stop there. Ok ok ok , I'm writing all of this as I go but on the Sunday we end up at the 5 fishermen. Order the lobster, the carbonara lobster , the chowder and Oysters at every single place you go in Halifax and thank me later. I wasn't expecting to love the food this much, wow ! If you're there on a Sunday, hit Durty Nellys. In my Opinion it's the best pub in the world- yep ! See ya next week :)

They have a really nice menu lots of fresh local seafood along with regional meat and lamb dishes. We opted for the seafood and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and eager to play without being overbearing. The restaurant it appears, is connected in some way to the Muir Hotel, which is also part of Marriott. They have a really nice selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle along with a selection of cocktails. They did have a dessert menu which we opted out of.
