I got a storage unit here 2+ years ago when it was HCS Storage. I had chosen this location because the units were in a secure fence with cameras. The gate has never been repaired. The owner sold the place to a corporate entity and they refused to take a monthly check, making everyone pay by card every month. I had it set up for the bank to pay a check monthly and a card is a hassle. They wouldn't do EFT from the bank like other companies. Annoying but whatever. This spring I opened my unit for the first time to find mold/mildew and rodent droppings in a large amount of my stuff. I had to throw out numerous things and sent an email to the company to let them know I was dissatisfied and was going to vacate my locker due to this. They didn't care and only said "oh we will check it before there is a new tenant." Not really helpful to your CURRENT TENANTS. I emailed to tell them my unit was cleaned and emptied, as per their rules, and asked them how I return my gate card since I have it and it's never been used. I also questioned the "secure storage" setup they have, since they literally open all the fence gates all winter long "for plowing". This is not a secure storage site, and never will be as their response was "you can throw out the card, that system was removed and isn't on premises". So buyer beware. Not a secure site. And they have a water/moisture issue and a rodent issue.

Kudos to a careful and conscientious moving service. Great respect shown for all of my items and care taken not to damage them. Movers showed up promptly at the pre-arranged time, and leading up to the move, there were several communications to guarantee time of the meeting and the plan. Upfront communication of pricing, expected services to be provided. Nate was always immediately available by either text or phone. I plan on using this company again when I move away from the Syracuse area as part of a planned move in 2018. While I did see other moving companies online with competitive rates, the difference in price was small and the service rendered by this company would be hard to beat. Very pleased with no regrets on this transaction.

Loading up always takes longer but the team powered through and emptied the truck quickly at our destination. They even took a moment to celebrate my awesome new basement. Then there was her antique furniture that had great sentimental value. She was very emotional and was completely overwhelmed. I checked Yelp for a Moving company in Syracuse and ran across First Class Moving and Removal, as we not only needed her belongings moved to a storage unit, but needed all the junk-type stuff taken to the dump. I saw a picture of Shaun and his crew next to a meticulously blanket-covered and wrapped piece of furniture and immediately felt this was a company that truly CARED about people's things and was willing to demonstrate that instead of just making idle boasts. I spoke with Shaun on the phone (I was orchestrating this whole thing from California) and found him to be professional, courteous, and understanding of the need for a kind and helpful approach to this very emotionally charged situation. My sister is elderly and since I couldn't be there in person to oversee the packing and move, I had to rely on trusting my gut from not much more than a few phone calls and texts to get this started. Long story short, Shaun and his crewmember did a FANTASTIC job on all levels. The furniture was completely blanketed and wrapped, the items that were not quite packed were taken care of, and ALL the junk went quickly to the dump. They took pics of the whole process, the packed truck, and the filled storage unit, keeping me updated all along the way. My sister felt safe, supported, and acknowledged. The price was exceptional for what they had to do. They moved quickly to keep the time down and didn't even take a break until it was all done. THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL YOUND BUSINESS and I would recommend them to anyone. This level of professionalism, integrity, and above all, caring is beyond rare. This young man and his company will go far. The guys didn't waste time and had us packed up in a lot less time than expected. When we arrived to our new home they had everything put back together and placed where we asked with no complaints. I was most impressed with our two movers' attitudes throughout the day. While we had a few delays on our end, they were patient and did not let this affect how they worked.
