I will give them 5 stars again! This place really has great service and customer service. I came to do a smog check and they ran the machine and gave me a few pointers to be able to pass the smog check. I came back and it passed. They charged me $50. I will keep coming to this shop and recommending it to friends. They always have snacks and coffee so you can enjoy while you wait for them to service your car.

Best customer service I've ever experienced in car service. Very fair -- they don't charge you if your car doesn't pass the smog test, which is amazing. They're open until 9 PM, and there aren't many businesses like this anymore. They have inside the service more clean then people houses. Highly recommended! read more

First of all, I received several quotes from Yelp for smog testing. There was one place closer to work and offering good price - showed up during my lunch hour and they were not even on the premises. Bummer. Went back on Yelp, and this place is close to my home, and the best service - customer and conversation! They took me right in and in 15-17 mins we were done. They were friendly and gave me great information on the newer cars of today. I recommend this place absolutely! Thank you both for your time and service. I greatly appreciate you both. read more

I highly recommend this mechanic. We took a car we were looking at buying to his shop today to get inspected. Sergio helped us right away and took his time explaining everything to us. The reviews are all true. Cleanest waiting area with complimentary snacks, it almost looks like a waiting room at a doctor's office. Amazing service. Came in for a smog check, yet Sergio was kind enough to point out that my battery was in bad condition. Sure enough, the battery was corrected and in bad shape. Wouldn't have even noticed and would have definitely been a pain if I were left stranded. Needed a smog check done on my car ASAP but most locations were closed by the time I got out of work. Did a Yelp search and noticed this location was open late. I called to make sure they would be open at 7pm, arrived was helped right away. No hassle and the price was so affordable. Laid Back Atmosphere. I was in need of a Smog Check and I needed something local, so I yelped Smog Shops and this shop popped up with other shops, this shop was more descent. The owner of the shop (forgot his name) desk was right when you pull into the shop to the right. He had all of his Certification in frames on the wall with his License like your suppose to. I told him my reasons for my Visit which was to get a Smog check. He helped me right away and started to do his duties. I was asking him questions about the Smog process and he did not have a problem explaining the process to me. I was there for a good 20 minutes and got everything taken care of. Awesome clean auto shop. STAR certified for smog checks for cars years 2000 and newer. Before doing the smog check, Sergio used a diagnostic tool to ensure the car would have a good chance of passing the smog check. The overall smog test was finished in 15 minutes. Service was excellent and fast. I received a quote through yelp the day before and was charged what they quoted me. The workers were super nice and kept asking me to see if I wanted water or anything. I had forgotten my DMV paper but they were kind enough to go that extra step and do the smog without the paper and just use my current registration. After 15 minutes of waiting they were all done and I noticed that they had even moved my car so that it would face the street and I would be able to exit easily. Overall, very good price and exceptional service. Highly recommend! read more

I came here because I needed to get a smog done ASAP. I was freaking out because LA was going on lockdown because of CV19. Fortunately I found these guys on yelp and their service was quick, professional, and amazing! I was very happy with how we were treated and the guy that helped me was friendly. They offered us water and snacks during our wait time as well. They are open late, so for folks who are coming in after work, this is the place to come to! Thank you guys! Found this place on Yelp and decided to try it because it was a fair distance away from home. I had done some research about possible issues with older cars passing the smog check so driving a bit of a distance seemed like a good start to prep the car for the test... I gotta say that not all smog check places do the complimentary pre-inspection but this is a place that does. The owner and employees were helpful, honest, and quick. I observed a good team dynamic among them and I appreciated their professionalism. I used the Yelp check-in coupon and paid a very reasonable price. I requested a quote earlier in the day and received a response quickly. Highly recommend this business. They also do other repairs - I would highly consider driving out for repairs and maintenance because they are honest and thorough. read more

Searched around before finding out about this place through Yelp. Needed to pass smog to receive tags and the other places was charging $50-$70. Most of the other places would just test you immediately knowing that you might fail. While this place would give you a pre-test/diagnostic to see if you would pass the actual smog test. As well as tell you what's wrong and how to solve the problem. They won't do the test until they know you will pass and they won't charge you for the pre-test. The place had snacks/drinks while you waited for the test to be done. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in need. read more

I was moded when I finally arrived to the bay (the area where they can actually fix my car) at 10:50 and was told that my car only runs on full synthetic and that specific oil change would cost me $109. Damn. I walked my feet to the corner and read the sign and in small writing is says "for conventional oil only". Idk what conventual is, I was just expecting to save a dollar. Cool. I came from 2 blocks over while making a stop near by earlier in the day, so I understood the waiting that had to take place for my engine to cool down but I didn't expect to be told that both my air filter and coolant needed some maintenance as well.... Life problems, cool. NOW MY NEW SUBTOTAL WAS PROJECTED TO BE $170.... (Thanks to the wonderful yelp app and my googles, I located a $20 off coupon on any oil change) ... at about 11:20 2 of the 3 services had been completed because they didn't have any air filters in stock. I was told to go down the street to auto zone (who I'll be reviewing next) to get my own air filter and bring it back...... went to auto zone, came back, wrong filter... went to autozone, came back, right filter.... The services were completed while I was able to drive out of there at about 12:25. I felt that the staff was decent, but I appreciated their black male associate, I believe he may have been the manager, not sure but he definitely stepped out on the floor and got things moving for me. In connection with a planned 2000 mile trip, I took the SUV to my long-time mechanic, Ise Automotive, in Los Feliz. When I picked up the car, I was told that there was something "odd" about the Michelin tires on the vehicle and that I should have them checked out by a tire expert. He recommended American Tire Centers, with whom he'd done business for decades. I was skeptical, as I'd put very few miles on the tires, but nevertheless called American to determine when I might have them inspected. Vahe ("Vic") said I could bring in the vehicle the same afternoon. When I arrived, the lot was filled with cars under some stage of repair or replacement. Nevertheless, Vic turned immediately to examining my Michelin tires. To my untutored eye, they looked pristine. However, after completing his inspection, Vic said that due to their age, the rubber was separating from the material beneath. This, he told me, is why tire warranties are valid for a maximum number of Miles (usually 50,000) OR time period (in this case, five years). It was clear I was going to have to replace the tires. The question, then, was "With what?" At the age of 80, I am a "careful" consumer. When I'm teeing up to buy a product or to commission a service, I do my homework. In this case, however, it had largely been done for me. Paired with a string of online recommendations attesting to the honesty of the shop, I also had absolute confidence in my mechanic of several decades, who had sent me to Vic with his endorsement. I purchased a set of four new Michelins. Vic said he'd do an alignment only if it were necessary. The next morning (less than 24 hours after I'd been advised by my mechanic to have an expert inspect the tires), the car was ready for pickup. Vic told me to bring it back for inspection when I returned from my trip. Conclusion: I could not have been happier or more impressed with the treatment accorded me by Vic and his colleagues. They were professional, prompt and, I believe, honest in their pricing. Based upon my experience, I've no hesitancy in recommending them without reservation.

The gentleman on the phone said the transmission fluid is for life unless I'm towing or carrying heavy loads. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

I've been coming here since I got my car. They're very thorough and communicate about all that is going on with the car. Mechanics have a rep for being dishonest just so they can milk money from you, but these guys are always honest and they add years to my car.
