    I've been coming to here for a few years now. Everyone is always professional. Top quality work every time no matter which car I bring to get serviced here. There's a clean waiting area if you want to stay while your car is getting worked on. They also provide TV and magazines to keep you entertained. This is one of those places I tell everyone about that's having an issue with the car. Definitely a hidden gem.

    Never thought I would have to leave a review but here we are. I brought my 2013 Audi A4 to Luis and his mechanics to install another engine on it. At first he tried to get me to use my warranty for my vehicle claiming he can get it approved. IT WAS DENIED. Then I took a motor to him to install. LUIS claimed that the mechanics told him the motor was no good that it wasn't creating enough pressure. I called my people that sold me the engine and they agreed to pick it up. They told me themselves that Luis and this shop were screwing me over and removing parts from the engine and swapping them. I didn't believe them at first until they brought the 2nd engine to him and Luis claimed it has the exact same issue as the previous one. Same issue for 2 different motors? Yeah I call bull. I took it out his shop because he had my car for months there with no progress at all. Cost me about close to 5k in repairs with him. I took it to my other mechanic and he had it running within 2 days. I was told that whoever worked on this vehicle was clueless and had my wiring all messed up. They put electric tape on all my wiring it was a mess and zip ties to hold certain parts. I trusted this guy with my car and have brought plenty of business his way. Not no more. They're either completely incompetent or they bent me over and screwed me. What his shop couldn't do in 8 months my other mechanic got it done in 2 days. Don't waste ya money or ya time here. I didn't think I would ever have to do this but I'm going to be filing a civil suit in small claims against Mr Kools Shop. The same engine he claims had low oil pressure is the same engine I'm driving in right now with absolutely no issues. Spend ya money elsewhere. Should have believed the engine company when they told me Mr Kool was trying to screw me by charging double in labor and still couldn't get my car running. 2 engines with the exact same issue is one in a million and Luis looked me dead in my eyes and told me that the engine was no good. You're a POS for that.

    This is a review that I'm embarrassed to post as I was totally taken advantage of at this shop. They're untrustworthy, disrespectful and are simply don't care about their customers. I usually do work on my own cars am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to automotive maintenance and come from a family of mechanics. I decided to bring it to this shop as I'm an ICU Covid Nurse and decided my time was better spent at a patients bedside especially during the surge that we were experiencing at the time. On February 8 I took the vehicle in to replace the fuel injectors as you can see that I needed to do due to a p0307 code that I originally had. I received the vehicle back on February 13 as the shop closed and was barely able to make it home as they caused several other problems as they replaced the fuel injectors. I prompted returned the vehicle to Mr. Kools on February 15 after having another mechanic check out their work. The other mechanic confirmed with me that Mr. Kools did not put everything back together the way that it originally was and that it created a code p1345 which made my vehicle undrivable. Mr. Kools retained my vehicle in their possession for over 2 months as you can see in the screenshots and neglected to repair my vehicle for damages that they caused. It wasn't until I spoke to the owner Carlos that he ended up outsourcing the job to another shop located on Broadway and 76th. He performed repairs without my consent and then presented me with an additional invoice $1200 (I had already paid $900 for the replaced of the fuel injectors). He knocked off $500 for repairs that I could have done myself in my driveway. I ended up paying for these repairs as I did want my vehicle in their custody any longer. 2 months had gone by and nothing was done. The shop and Luis had lied to me multiple times. Having a vehicle on their lot for 2 months for a minor repair that needed to be done due to their negligence is unacceptable. I suffered many hardships and losses during this time period due to their incompetence. Their incompetence is further demonstrated as they installed parts backwards on my vehicle as you can see in the attached picture. I'm sure they probably did this to ensure I had a mechanical failure and returned back to them. I totally expect Carlos and Mr. Kool's to respond with statements of my distributor being bad and other mechanical jargon and lingo. Which aren't true due to the p1345 code being non-existent prior to going to his shop and even if it was true does that justify me being without my vehicle for over 2 months. A MAF sensor has nothing to do with a p1345 code but yet Carlos deemed that it was a necessary repair to get another $100-150 out of me. Stay away from shops like this as they're dishonest.

    Didn't get work done. BUT carlos was very polite & well groomed. Not like other mechanic oily smell like oil.

I was moded when I finally arrived to the bay (the area where they can actually fix my car) at 10:50 and was told that my car only runs on full synthetic and that specific oil change would cost me $109. Damn. I walked my feet to the corner and read the sign and in small writing is says "for conventional oil only". Idk what conventual is, I was just expecting to save a dollar. Cool. I came from 2 blocks over while making a stop near by earlier in the day, so I understood the waiting that had to take place for my engine to cool down but I didn't expect to be told that both my air filter and coolant needed some maintenance as well.... Life problems, cool. NOW MY NEW SUBTOTAL WAS PROJECTED TO BE $170.... (Thanks to the wonderful yelp app and my googles, I located a $20 off coupon on any oil change) ... at about 11:20 2 of the 3 services had been completed because they didn't have any air filters in stock. I was told to go down the street to auto zone (who I'll be reviewing next) to get my own air filter and bring it back...... went to auto zone, came back, wrong filter... went to autozone, came back, right filter.... The services were completed while I was able to drive out of there at about 12:25. I felt that the staff was decent, but I appreciated their black male associate, I believe he may have been the manager, not sure but he definitely stepped out on the floor and got things moving for me. He also looked out on the filter service due to the fact I had to supply my own piece. 3 stars, they can be better but it was Saturday. I get it.

Alex told me that one would be available but when I arrived that wasn't the case. Therefore, he lied to me from the beginning. The job was completed the next day as he said it would but my car was left very dirty and greasy when I returned to retrieve it. When I asked for a rag to wipe the greasy from my shift knob, he proceed to wipe down the steering wheel and knob then used the same dirty rag on my door panel, scratching the paint. Alex informed me that my check engine light was on and tried to suggest that it may have already been that way before I brought my car to the shop. I was appalled at this suggestion for my car only needed a new clutch and nothing else. I'm sure he turned on the key and saw no such warning lights but was trying to cover up that it was damaged during their repair process. When I returned the next day to have them repair what they did, I was not greeted with respect and I will not return to this shop again, even if the check engine light returns. I was initially quoted a labor cost only to be baited and switched after he learning that I had a very nice vehicle. Albeit, the clutch works as expected but I cannot get over how smug and disrespectful Alex treated me during this entire time. One could say you get what you pay for but the disrespect is unacceptable, not to mention I had to wash my floor mat because it was so filthy. I made sure not to put them in my car when I brought it back. I had to spread paper bags all over the floor then I noticed they had their own paper shoe protection that was laying on the floor when I returned the second time. I think they do decent transmission work but if you care about how you are treated and the care of your car, I would not recommend them but if you want to go the economic route and do your own cleaning and hope to don't cause more harm to your vehicle then these are your options. The engine light wasn't on when I picked up my vehicle the second time, but they could have just erased it and may return in a few days. Alex never called me once to tell me my car was ready for pick up. I had to call him both times, and the first time I came to pick up my car, he told me he had texted about coming the next day after I already told him l'm on my way. We had never texted before and I later learned he never texted me at all, that's typical of my experience in a nutshell.
