As I was inspecting some of the cigars I was interested in buying, I noticed that every cigar I picked up felt hard and stale...and I was having a hard time finding one that felt slightly spongy and fresh like I prefer. At that moment, the idiot store manager with glasses (I believe his name is Rick, based on other reviews I have read) says, "My man, please only squeeze the cigar you are going to buy to avoid damaging them." I let him know that I was gently squeezing them because I was trying to find one that was not hard as a rock and stale...he then told me that these are all "premium" cigars and that I shouldn't be "damaging them for the next person. " I put the cigar down and walked out. After being a regular customer for several years, I will never shop there again. It seems that not only their product quality, but also their basic customer service skills need a lot of improvement.

Almonte Tobacconist is a thief…read more I was in the store to buy a special cigar for Father's Day last year. I told Nestor that my favorite brand is Padron, so he sold me a Padron Black for $45. When I smoked the cigar, it was clear to me that at some point the stick had been improperly stored. It tasted like it had previously dried out and was then rehumidified. It was awful. I have been smoking cigars, including Padrons, for more than 20 years, so I know what a previously dried out cigar tastes like, and I know what a Padron should taste like. When I raised this with Antonio he refused to do anything about it. Antonio is a thief. He does not stand by the cigars he sells.

First of all, the guy that works there has absolutely NO clue what he's talking about when it comes to vapes. He put my old tank with a new battery that I bought yesterday (he suggested it was totally fine) and it ended up burning my tank...and my throat. I tried to see if I can get it returned/exchanged/whatever and he told us it was MY fault that the tank broke and suggested I should buy a bigger tank from him. I then asked if I could speak to the manager, and he told me the manager would not allow me to return anything anyway so that I was shit out of luck. I don't understand how someone can be so rude. John is wonderful and very knowledgeable of cigars! Extremely friendly environment as most cigar communities are. The humidor is full of everything from just a few dollars per stick to the bougie high end dollar stash! Great selection from major brands and some stuff you may not know about yet! There is a very nice lounge with ample seating, 2 HD TV's, and all the accessories you need in case you forgot something. The new art work on the wall is beautiful and ads to the vibe of the lounge. Went there today to get a sandwich. Go to pay with a card which I have done in the past and the owner tells me it is a $20 credit card minimum. I ask how long this has been policy as I've paid with my card before. He bluntly tells me as long as they have been open and when I explain I have no cash on me he tells me to use the store atm. The atm had a fee of $3 plus my own bank's fees. My sandwich was only $6. No way I am paying double for my sandwich just so this a$$hole can save himself the 1-3.5% transaction fee. If anyone needs an example of how not to engage in good customer service, this guy is a shining example. Good job on losing a customer. 1 star total fail. p.s. If you buy one of their substandard/defective products you must return it when one of the owners is in. They do not trust their employees to handle any exchanges. They require you to take part in a multi - step process including contacting the store website, returning when & if someone may be available they trust to accept a defective product and then waiting for the manufacturer to approve an exchange. Basically, they make an exchange so difficult & time consuming that it's not even worth trying. All this for a $30 product.
