When you realize you left a frequently used item an hour away at your best friend's place... what else is there to do, but Yelp where to find the nearest replacement. Yep, that's what happened to me over the weekend. When I noticed, I did a quick search and discovered Smoke Zone Smoke Shop just up the street from me. Located on the busy corner of High St. and 5th Ave., this smoke shop is currently off the beaten path due to construction, but provides nothing short of helpful, attentive service. Street parking doesn't exist in this area of the Short North right now, but here in a few months it should be available again. Until then, there's a small parking lot across the street, right next to BrewDog. I made the quick trek across the street, dodging construction workers and makeshift ramps to be greeted immediately. At a quick glance, I noticed they had what I needed but I browsed around for a minute too. They really offer everything you need if you're a smoker of any kind. From large glass bongs to vape pens and everything in between (yes, there's a lot in between), they've got it. Their prices are on par with what I've seen at other similar establishments too. Wow, just wow. There are a handful of head shops in and around the Short North, but Smoke Zone is the best! They have everything you could ask for whether it be; tobacco mods and accessories, medical mods glass and accessories, quality tane, premium kratom, CBD, or just some down right vibey gear. The prices are very fair, I priced out a few items locally and online, and Smoke Zone couldn't be beat (especially the consumables)! The guy working the counter was very pleasant and professional, and knew the answers to every single question I asked; knowledgeable without a doubt. Shoot, I was even given some raffle tickets to potentially get some free glass, which seems to be a recurring trend here. If you're down in the Short North, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in, but if you're from the surrounding area (where quality head shops seem to be lacking) it's definitely worth the drive! read more

Talk about staff changes. Every time I go in there someone new is working. When I ask about my favorite clerk "Oh ya he left"; I ask about someone else a month later "Oh ya, she doesn't work here anymore". Why can't they keep a staff? I like this place because they have a lot of affordable items in their store. You can get new mass produced quartz nails for under $10 or you can get the artisanal stuff for a few dollars more. The guy who assisted me was knowledgeable and helpful, us he cut me a deal on a really sick honeybee torch. This place is no frills and welcoming. read more

Okay, I know that not every smoke shop is run by burn-out feel-good hippies who would rather nod along to the Dead (hell yeah!) than actively engage customers. I know this. But whenever I stumble into a smoke shop with more of an XTREME feel, like this place, it takes me aback. That's not to say Smoke Zone is in any way unfriendly or uninviting. Well, maybe in some ways; they have a few signs that go a little overboard in warning customers about various things. Even jokes of threats of violence towards customers is a bit beyond the pale, as far as I'm concerned. The interior is just a little garish, being RED RED RED and black, just a tad more antagonistic a color scheme than I want to deal with during, say, a Gallery Hop Bong Price Comparison Trip. All in all a fairly bare-bones shop. The selection of glass is fine, but there's not a whole lot else for sale, especially when compared to a stoner superstore like Puff 'n' Stuff or even Waterbeds 'n' Stuff. 'n Stuff. ' n Stuff. I'll go back if I'm nearby, but I won't often search it out, specifically. read more

I went in there on an impulsive purchase for a vape mod because I am trying to quit cigs. I don't rly know anything ab mods so I'm kinda naive on the subject. I asked him for a recommendation and he recommended the SMOK MAG BABY KIT, so I bought it and the first time I started using it, it leaked the juice all over the place through the bottom adjustable vent. Thought I might have did something wrong so I started looking online and found out that it's a common problem with these mods and I would have to take apart the atomizer and snip some wires down to get it to seal right. Tried it and it still leaks juice all over the place. Kinda feel like the dude working should have disclosed/knew this information and/or he knew he was selling me stock that was hard to get rid of bc of this issue and used my inexperience against me cause he knew I would buy whatever he recommended. read more

Today I stopped into The Smoke Zone in the Short North for the first time. A friend and I were in and out of about 5 different smoke shops as we walked down High st today. This location was head and shoulders above the rest for a couple reasons. One, the guy at the counter was super friendly and helpful. He answered our questions, and wasn't judgmental when I explained that a certain item was out of my price range. He said he understood, and helped me choose something else. He also sent me home with the remainder of a few discontinued e-juices that had been used for samples. Two, the prices were way, way better. The item I bought was at least $3 cheaper than any of the other shops we were in today. I checked prices on some of the glass items, and The Smoke Zone beat those prices too. Three, and this is going to sound a little snobbish on my part...it just seemed kinda...classier. It didn't seem seedy or illicit. It was clean, uncluttered, and items were spread out enough so that you didn't feel like you were elbow-to-elbow with other customers. read more

My friend recently went and got her entire side mirror smashed off by one of their employees (she was sitting in the car the entire time - her bf was returning a piece previously bought.) Very chill place, pretty good selection for the size of the shop. The prices are good but not the cheapest you will get, good prices on name brand pieces though. Bought a discounted water pipe here that I love, just be careful to make sure there are no cracks in your pieces before buying. The guys there have a lot of knowledge on pieces, the inventory could use some 3 chamber grinders though. Overall, make a stop here if you're in need of anything smoking involved. read more

I never had an issue with this store until today. They sold me great products and the people that work there are nice. I go there for my vaping liquid and they have a nice selection. They sold me a defective bottle. When I got home it leaked all over my bag. This is not their fault things happen and this was the first time it happened. The problem is when I went back the very next day they refused to replace it. What ever happened to customer service ? I was a loyal customer and I'm there all the time.
