I am becoming a bit of a cigar aficionado (if I do say so myself ), and I was excited to visit the Tinder Box. Unfortunately my experience was not as wonderful as I thought it would be. The store is small, they do not offer as much variety in cigars as most places do, and the store itself feels dirty and run down. When my boyfriend and I entered I was not even acknowledged, it was as if they did not think a woman would be interested in cigars ‍ We bought a couple stogies but weren't allowed in the actual humidor, the guy went and got some out for us which I thought was quite odd. We smoked them later and were disappointed in the taste and quality; they were dry and poorly wrapped. It's always fun to explore new humidors and cigar shops, but I don't think we will be back to this one. read more

First time at this cigar store. We came and picked out cigars to have that evening on the balcony at home. I love the smell of tobacco, oud and leather in here. I just like manly scents anyway. The men that work here are very knowledgeable of the cigars and countries of origin. I definitely plan to come back. I enjoyed watching customers play chess and smoke inside and in the front patio area and talk about life. Young and old. My favorite part of the store is the hand carved pipes. They are expensive but a classic necessity for that modern renaissance man. 4 stars only because I wish they had a lounge and bar inside for game viewings or simple date. read more

Soooo my best friend and I needed something different to do on a Friday night so decided to try out a cigar bar?! Let me say, we had a really good time! Walking in, we were greeted by a really nice guy asking what we were looking for. Of course, we had no clue but wanted to try something not too harsh, kindda sweet and something that doesn't taste like metal. He made awesome recommendations and we both bought cigars that were great for us first timers. He cut our stogies (yeah, I feel advanced enough to say that now) and we sat at a high top and watched some college football. Although we were the only females in a room of about 10 men, we felt comfortable and welcomed! We engaged in some football conversation and hung out for about a half hour. This was a great alternative to the normal Friday night happy hour and I'm looking forward to bringing my boyfriend for a visit! read more

I'm a first time cigar buyer and needed help buying a gift. Would have preferred to look around the store a bit, but it was so miserably smokey inside that I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. I found an associate and told him my price point and a few other pieces of information. He steered me in a direction, I pointed at a cigar, paid, and got the heck outta there. Admittedly, as a nonsmoker, I'm not their usual clientele. But, it would've been nice to be able to shop for someone else without needing to use my inhaler immediately afterwards. Not sure if all cigar stores are set up with the smoking room and the retail area in the same small area, but I'll likely be looking elsewhere next time. read more

Yes, it's a great locally owned classic smoke shop. And yes, you can puff a pipe or select a cigar in here. Sporting an excellent selection from Cohiba to CAO, Acid to Romeo y Juliette, Perdomo to Opus X, there's a brand for everyone. Looking for corojo, cheroot or torpedo? There's that and every roll style in between, and the nice (and cute) guys behind the counter will guillotine or punch it for you. Stick around for a game of chess or a spirited round of conversation. Get on the mailing list for quarterly special events where often the distributor brings in either models or a roller who rolls on the spot. When I was there, the distributor brought a man who had defected from Cuba... he rolled quickly and efficiently for all those attending, glancing around from wizened old eyes. The poignant piece of history? He only had 9 fingers. The man had lost one in his first attempt to escape to our country, purportedly cut off in front of Castro himself. To me it was a humbling experience. One reality check I was glad to receive. It's amazing what you can learn by asking someone about himself...in my experience, the less likely the person - the more interesting the story. read more

Ron walked over to me and inquire how could he help me. He was very inviting warm and professional. He mad several suggestions then gave me time to think about what I wanted. The best cigar store in town. An extensive selection and a well educated staff to point to your fav or a new experience. There are several tables at the Irish pub next door with several tables reserved for us cigar smokers to enjoy dinner/drink with your smoke. This is a decent place, it's ok, not fantastic. As soon as you walk in you'll be hounded. They don't like hearing ''I'm just looking.'' Typically my husband will get a R&J roughly $8-$11 here. Elsewhere we can get them for $5-$7... just saying. The only reason we go here is right before heading over to Fado's since it's right next door. They would be much better if they had cheaper opinions at least. They don't have anything les then $6. If you're looking for a cheap cigar you wont find it here unless you consider $10 cheap. Black and milds are $1.50. I prefer hookahs anyway. read more

This particular cigar shop a 'necessary evil.' While it's not at among the best cigar shops in town, it's the only game in (Easton) town (center), and strategically placed right beside a great restaurant/bar that is very cigar-friendly on their patio, accommodating smokers well into colder times of the year. The two businesses seem to organically support each other. They have a very good selection of premium cigars, well-kept/humidified, a knowledgeable staff, & some nice, over-stuffed chairs to hang out in while you smoke. It seems like the perfect place to go for smokes if you're trying to impress a client, friend or date (and they're impressed by that sort of thing). I'd say that's where the positives end. As one reviewer mentioned, you're hounded as soon as you enter. And there is so much testosterone & bromance floating around, it can make your time there uncomfortable at best. (Unless, of course, you're cool with that type vibe) While the staff is also enthusiastic & friendly, their general attitude is unknowingly somewhat off-putting, more fitting of a Saturday Night Live skit lampooning uppity cigar shops. And then the price points... Again, as many have previously mentioned, their cigars are incredibly overpriced compared to the same stuff at other shops around town. I'm not sure why their prices are so high. But they seem to do a good job of getting away with it... as I mentioned, they're the only game in 'town,' and their particular location gives you more reason to just suck it up & deal with the negatives. But, for cryin' out loud, DO NOT buy a box or bundle here. You're just throwing away a money doing so. (hint: try online cigar shops, like JR Cigars instead) In closing - don't go here unless you have to, feeling too lazy to go elsewhere, or someone else is picking up the tab. But if you're visiting Easton, particularly from out of town, this is your best & only option to grab some high-quality smokes. As long as you don't mind the inflated prices & egos. read more

This is by far the best cigar store in Columbus. Staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about any cigar or pipe tobacco and all accessories. Perhaps most importantly, the don't try to push you into a pricey cigar. I highly recommend trying their BS Cigar; it's created by the owner and shop manager and it's fantastic (less than $10/stick for robusto). Great seating either indoors or outdoors -there's always a fun group of people hanging out here. read more

These guys have an excellent selection of cigars as well as a very helpful staff. Pick up a stick and have a seat. The employees and regulars will make you feel at home. It's great during the summer to sit outside and smoke while having a drink from Fado next door.
