She knows nothing about customer service - would rather put inventory away than help a customer. Open the door to come in and it's like I've entered this strange alien world where everything resembles normal life but something isn't quite right. The cashier just stared at me, no greeting. No nod. No smile. But had no issue staring me in the eyes with his callous straight face the entire time I guess hahaha. The shop itself was empty. About 90% of their retail space was empty wood flooring. There were like 2 cigar cabinets and then they had some glass display counters to look at. It was all just severely overpriced AliExpress junk.

The boss promised me nobody would actually come in to shop, this is awkward" and I kinda felt this gravitational force pulling me to please exit immediately... So I kinda pretended to look at some stuff for a moment and then darted. I didn't get to take a look at much so I can't comment on pricing. I'll be honest, I have been to a few smoke shops in the past that had this vibe. Almost something like a... look but don't buy vibe lol, and please don't ask questions kinda feel. Like, the way they set the shop up, they must not be weary of sales in general, especially for smoke shops. You want to have your shop set up in a way that feels relaxing and casual, not like a Gucci store. Maybe they cater to a different kind of person than the average smoke shop customer lol? I really don't know, but it felt very uncomfortable and strange, and it felt intentional, like they want it that way. What gets me with these guys? They won't give prices over the phone, precluding anyone from…read moreprice-shopping "from the comfort of their home (or phone)." "It's our policy," I was told. Hmmmm, SHADY. They refer you to the website, which didn't allow me to look for the vape I asked about, but it DID show the up-sell (only packs/kits and such). I worked in sales for a long time, and this "policy" smacks of bait/switch, or at the very least, of the type of business that counts on being able to take advantage of walk-ins... doesn't matter if a consumer sees the price on the shelf or on the box in the store, because places like "Holy Smokes" rely on people making the trip in and buying (settling) for whatever price-point offered because they are already there (and who wants to drive or walk all over kingdom come)? I wound up calling another smoke/vape shop in town, and the gent there was super-helpful, answered all of my questions, and gave me a price right away. Guess who got the sale? The other guys. (P.S. Smoker's Haven West is the best). So, HEY! Holy Smokes, take a play out of their playbook, will ya?
