I haven't been here in a long time and man this place has gone downhill fast. Rusty air vents in the dining room. Lots of evidence of roof leaks on the drop ceiling. Some spots are really black. Gross. Went Monday 4/1/2024 around 5pm and was told they were out of ribs, ribeye,shrimp and nachos..... and the stay went downhill from that. Pulled pork was dry and bland. Brisket was rubbery. The lunch menu is a reasonable price and comes with plenty of food - meat, 2 sides, and Texas toast. So, yeah - I had to try them, especially reading about their mouthwatering Mac n cheese and hot skillet cornbread with pecan butter spread!!! What! . Ok, so we went and it was pretty good. My hubby is a MEAT eater, so he got the Bonefire Tabletop Grill for (2) $39.99. The picture advertised he was in awe and was anxious to indulge. I ordered the Mac n cheese n the skillet cornbread. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate chip cookie skillet. . So, now... the Bonefire Tabletop Grill... The advertisement picture looks ZERO like what you "actually" get. For $40, he was really looking for the picture. But what he received was a reduction in food size. I don't know if they have a ((shrink)) tank in the back after the cook the food or what, but he was VERY disappointed. I thought they had meat in the bottom of the container. But nope - I looked, just (1) burning charcoal- hahahahahaha Anyhoo - he said the BBQ sauce was absolutely good. Stopped in for an early sunday lunch with my wife.. never been to this place before. I would have to say the place inside is alot bigger then we thought. Wood paneling on the walls spacious seating and very clean. After walking in I approached the hostess standing behind the desk in the front of the restaurant I smiled and said hello. This young lady did not return my friendly greeting and did a bit of an eye roll and appeared annoyed that I was there. It all went down hill from here. we sat at a booth and the hostess went into the back where we heard her say to someone we have 2 customers and whoever she was talking to said loudly with an attitude "Well there gonna have to wait we are not ready" we sat about 10min when the waitress stopped over and apologized about the wait she was polite and then took our order while she walked away my wife and could here an employee near the bar cursing loudly over something. He did this a few times while we where waiting for our food. We started off with the pretzels and cheese appetizer. we were not impressed the pretzels were soft and ok tasting but the dipping cheese looked like baby vomit and was bland. My wife got a portobello Mushroom swiss burger which was dry with a burnt charcoal taste and on the menu it says the burger topping was roasted portobello mushrooms. It was not that at all it was cold canned mushrooms she took a few bites and did not eat the rest. I myself got a 1/3 rack baby back ribs with roasted corn, Pulled pork, and Mac N cheese which I paid extra for. The ribs tasted OK they where soft and pulled right off the bone.. The pulled pork however was extremely dry and resembled a beef Jerky consistency the taste was OK nothing special I had to smother it with one of the sauces that where at the the table so I could eat it and not choke. The corn came in a bowl and had a weird taste to it like it was sitting in the fridge to long. And lastly the Mac N Cheese was bland and had no taste. And for the price of the bill that was about $70 was not worth it at all.. What an expensive disappointment. I will never come back here again read more

Wow. Went there because one in MD was so good. I couldn't be more disappointed. The brisket was chopped in cubes and cold, the "street corn" had a funky taste & not good. So we used to LOVE going here for the food but this time put us over the edge that we will NEVER come back and we made sure we told everyone we worked with as well. First we got the nachos. We checked this place out after visiting the local aquarium with our grandchildren and their parents. It was a heavy rain weekend and so while the place had lots of people seated, there was no wait and we were socially distanced without any problems. There were some items on the appetizer menu that were combinations of flavors I hadn't come across before and that's always fun for me. That's one of the things I like about travel. For my entre I went with my usual BBQ which is brisket. Everybody enjoyed their meals and we had a great time with good service and a nice BBQ type atmosphere (lots of darker woodwork and a BBQ theme). At the tip, the food wasn't bad, just disappointing. We came in with high hopes. Let's start with the good: you walk in, and it smells fantastic, has an excellent layout and ambiance, and the people are very welcoming. Very kind staff, who was incredibly attentive. My daughter also loved the Mac n Cheese, although she wished the portion was a little bigger. The pork belly pops were kind of good, pretty moist, solid sauce, and solid flavor. My wife and I both had a rib + favorite combo. My combo came with the pulled chicken, which was terribly dry. I tried to drown it in bbq sauce (which was pretty good), but all it did was make the chicken edible. Ribs weren't bad, but not terribly moist for either of us; good flavor, though. The brisket is where we were confused. Having smoked a number of brisket the last few years, we could tell bot enough fat was trimmed, nor rendered. It left far too much fat, and the meat was oddly dry underneath. Mashed potatoes weren't bad, just a tiny portion. The fire-grilled corn lacked salt and was fairly bland. I'd probably give them a second shot just to see if it was an off night, but I'd have to order very differently in hopes of a better meal. read more

I've been here a few times and enjoy Smokey Bones as a reliable bbq place that has good food and offers a variety of things that make it group friendly. They have pool tables and dart boards in the back in their own area that is near the bar which has constant specials on draft. They are also fine for smaller, more intimate occasions. I've gone with one or two folks before and each time we were seated timely and received good service. Each booth has these sort of tablets that you can use to play trivia games or just mess around. Most importantly, you can use them to pay so you don't have to sit around waiting for your server after you've finished your meal if you are in a hurry. The last time I went they had a good platter that had a sampling of their various bbq fire grilled meats. Unfortunately it wasn't a regular menu option and I don't recall the name. They did bring a custom, smoky less sweet bbq sauce and I used it to enjoy their sampling. It looked like someone brought a grill in from the backyard. My favorites were their ribs and chicken. The sausage was moist but not particularly flavorful or spicy. Other main courses I enjoy are their ribs, their brisket, and the "Bag o Donuts" which is this bag full of powdered sugary concoction which you shake a whole bunch then dip each individual, donut, baked hot and fresh to order, into a chocolate sauce. The meats are usually served naked and you have a selection of bbq sauces ranging from sweet and tangy to smokey and slightly bitter. While this chain isn't the absolute best barbecue in town, they are a solid option with decent prices and a better atmosphere for hanging out than some alternatives. It's not that the food was not good it's just that there really was not that much of a selection that we really liked it was mainly barbecue items and the prices were extremely high to the point where I looked at it and was in shock that I was looking at one entree being that much money. The problem with barbecue is that I have a lot of trouble eating certain types of barbecue foods and like beef and pork is hard for me to eat and digest so Smokey Bones probably wasn't the best pick for me but it was my wife's pic. Right off the bat no organization to seating had someone on their second day seating people with no help. Employees openly arguing in front of and or about customers. Sat with one waitress after waiting for them to clean a table (despite the numerous amounts of empty tables.) only for her to say I'll be right back and have someone on his first day take our drink order then never saw the other waitress again unless in passing no help to her trainee no customer service nothing. He takes our food order after like 15-20mins of waiting again with no outside assistance then we sit and wait for our food with no silverware or anything just drinks for the next 45mins-1hr tables around being assisted and served that got there after us all while we are seeing the same stuff arguing where to sit them and just overall bad service. Practically had to yell at the manager on in passing just to get his attention. (even tho he was right next to the table) Who then after a bunch of arguing and excuses thrown back and forth from the servers etc. waited with not much answer on if our food was coming or what was going on. Till we eventually got our food which was all dry, hard or just not good quality in the slightest. Will never come to nor recommend coming to this restaurant ever again. The service by our waiter was absolutely amazing and that's the main reason why it's two stars. But here's why no more. We got fried pickles, some were lumped together and didn't cook all the way. We didn't complain about that. When we started to complain when I got my smokehouse Mac and cheese and it was absolutely cold. Like I understand they premade it but they should keep warm at least. I had to send that back. And my sisters broccoli and brisket was cold and had to send it back for that reason. When the food came back out, the brisket and broccoli was hot. The Mac and Cheese was still Luke warm. It's unfortunate because it was my first time there and it was my sisters birthday. It almost ruined her birthday. Ok, the pulled pork looks awesome, and the combo of Baby Back with the Memphis Dry Rub and the Smoked Chicken with the Smoked BBQ sauce is to try the next time! The bar: purple Haze, 90 minute Dogfish, Guinness, and the Saranac IPA were great. The checkout: takes some time to self check out and pay. Receipts are printed by the server if you need it. Today is Mother's Day and I expected to take my mother out to eat and have a good day but then I came to Smokey bones and waited 2 hours to eat cold food and steak that wasn't done when we asked the manager abt the food quality he then said to us that's the normal size but 4 chicken wings doesn't feed 6 people and 1 chicken chicken leg doesn't feed 6 people he then went back and o the kitchen and came with 4 wings like that was doing something 10 wings for 6 people thats a half a wing each person and on the platter was all peppers and onions no meat treating us like vegatarians and when I got my brisket sandwich it was pieces os little brisket and cheese on bread that was melted in the microwave with a side of mac and cheese that came out the box read more
