Booked Red 12 for 2 nights, did not stay. The site was a dirt island, had to drive over curb to pull in. It was too small for truck and travel trailer to exist comfortably together. The good would be the pond area for sure! Tons of air balloon obstacles for all ages to enjoy. If you have US Cellular you are in good shape for internet access! We had no phone/internet service the whole time we were there, even though it is posted that they offer it. There was a sign posted that wifi works 30 ft from the office, did not work on any of our devices even at the dining area right next to the office. If you are looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing camping trip DO NOT go here over the weekend. The people that own their own go carts are reckless and irresponsible especially the teens that go way too fast in between the sites. There were a lot of children around and it was nerve wracking watching these people go so fast. They have tons of amenities and some are included, but most cost extra. They have a well stocked store, prices are high! They have showers in public areas, but they charge $ to use them. We had a scary incident with our 12 yr old daughter. She was outside with her friend when two teenage boys approached them on our campsite with scary clown face mask and ski masks on. I did mention it to management who said she would check with security, whom we never saw the whole time we were there. Of course, security never saw anything like that because teens are teens. The VIP sites are nice and level with a table, grill and a cement slab. Be warned there are no onsite sewer hook ups at the individual sites. There is a dump station that you can use by the office. They also have a truck that will come to your camper and empty your tanks for a small fee ($20). If you stay 4 nights it is complimentary. If we were to ever stay again, it will not be on the weekend. read more

Smokey Hollow is a family-friendly campground with plenty for kids to do. Sadly, there is a great lack of customer service and maintenance throughout the resort. Showers were out of order, some had signs some didn't. Bathrooms were constantly out of toilet paper even with the large commercial double rolls, and multiple soap dispensers didn't work. Many comments were made to the cleaning staff advising of short comings, it is unknown if it was heard through the earbuds, even though they nodded and said ok. One day we watched a staff member leaf blow the roads clean, great for appearance, but if they spent half the time maintaining actual equipment it would be a much better campground, and would have gotten a better review. The check in process is highly inefficient with a coded gate and a single lane in and a coded gate with a single lane exit. Great for security, but lines were backed up well on to the roadway. Saturdays, they have a souped up motorized oversized grocery cart that zooms around a path through the campground around one of the children's play park at dangerous speeds IMO. All good and fun I get it, but it's simply not safe. When another in our group (we had 8 sites/cabins/park models in our group) told the driver to slow down as young ones were at play, the driver told him he hasn't had any issues yet. Another in our group went to the office with concern and was simply told, you're advised at check in the path that is taken. Not one in our group was told of this path, not to mention I even asked about it when we checked in. No fault to the campground, but beware, cell service is a no go. It is mentioned on the website, but kind of buried. The wi-fi is only at the store and lags during weekend days due to the number of folks using it. Unfortunately, kid friendly or not, our group will not be back. The campground is not the most weekender friendly and the customer service showed. read more

Our experience was awful! We had a family reunion and had been communicating with Smokey Hollow for a whole year prior to our event that we really needed the pavilion to serve meals. We found out when we got there that they rented it to another group for the entire weekend! They NEVER offered that to us or even led us to believe it was possible to even RESERVE the Pavillion! It rained the whole weekend and we had to huddle 60 people under canopies in the poring rain! One group with us had their campsites under water the whole time. Our campsite was far too small for our rig and was on a hill! Fortunately we were able to switch with other family members. We all spent a lot of money for accommodations at Smokey Hollow and we're not treated well. We will NEVER go back there! read more

This was our first time at Smokey Hollow but it will not be our last! We stayed in a yurt right on their beach/pond and it was amazing! They had so many activities for the kids and plenty of tasty drinks for the adults. Every staff member was friendly and courteous. We loved the inflatables in the pond and the blinky parade at night. My only complaint would be that you can hear everything from inside the yurts. If you need quiet for small kids or babies I would recommend a cabin or trailer rental instead. For 80 dollars a night I expected a way better experience. The 5 sites for big rigs didn't have sewer hookups. They bus in about 100 kids for day camp so the screeching was non stop. Lake isn't really available to use due to the 100 kids! Poor campers with kids could not enjoy. Didn't see anyone come groom before new guests came - all kinds of debris left behind for next guests including crap in the fire pit. Staff is a bunch of young people who are clueless. One day people parked in a bunch of camping sites. Poor guy came in with his TT and his site had a car parked. Had to go and find person it belonged to. Meanwhile his rig blocked the tight one way street! Dump out is on left on way out which meant blocking rigs trying to come in. Save your money and go somewhere you can actually enjoy! read more

We have been going to Smokey hollow for the last 10 years. This past year my three kids were shot at by grown adults by airsoft guns and orbee guns. One of the shooters held my son up against a camper with the gun pointed right at his heart and shot him point blank. All three boys have welts all over their bodies that turned into bruises. They were shooting at them from 2 feet away from each other. We called campsite security and nobody would help us or even acknowledge us. Until one of the witnesses called the sheriff department. Keep your kids away from campsite 513 and 511 or your fun weekend will take a turn for the worse. These shooters sometimes drive the tractor and wagons around for the kids Beware! read more

Advertises wifi but no internet or cellular connection. Everything requieres quarters but quarter machines do not work. Water pressure is non existent, could barely wash hands, nevermind shower. There is a giant shopping cart they fill with kids and drive around the campground going ridiculously fast without concern for people and kids walking and playing in the playground, nevermind the safety of guests. When asked about the safety of those in the campground, management said, "we haven't hit anyone yet." Takes forever to actually enter the place because no one manages the gated entrance. This campground is very nice. We are staying Sept of 2020. We desperately needed a change of scenery, so this fit the bill while still being socially distanced. It was myself, my husband and my kid for two nights staying in the deluxe cabin. Its $15 per wristband, which allows mini golf, the trampoline, giant inflatables, bike things, and three ice creams. Kids 3 and under are free as with purchasing an adult wristband. As our son just turned four, they nicely gave it to us for free. The equipment is a little older, but still safe and usable. The cabins have full size fridges(including freezer), a cooktop(no stove), and a microwave. There's two lofts, with mattresses on the floor in the lofts, bunk beds and a single bed in the main cabin, and a queen bed in a separate bedroom. There were only three of us, but honestly this cabin could sleep like 14, if you don't mind close quarters, as there's 4 mattresses in each loft. There's no linens, so make sure to remember to bring them. I honest prefer that during the pandemic. The cabin was cleaned right before we arrived, there were still bubbles in the toilet and the cabin smelled clean. We haven't eaten any of their food yet, so can't review that. If you are sleeping in the seperate bedroom, make sure to sleep with your door open, as there's only a window air conditioner in the main cabin. I woke up at 4 am soaked in sweat because our room was so hot. The window air conditioning does work well to cool the cabin. Also, the TV only uses DVDs, no cable or any regular tv. Make sure to bring DVDs from home, or they available to rent. Update: owners, please have your store have set hours. Somedays it was open til 6, sometimes we got there at 5 and it was already closed. We had a very disappointed little boy who wanted some ice cream. read more

It's a quite nice campground, but your enjoyment of it depends on what you come there for. On the plus side, they have sites with electricity and running water available, there are neat little vehicles like pedal go carts and electric scooters available for rental (as well as golf carts), there's a nice video arcade, a pretty well stocked general store, a snack bar, and a great little pond with all sorts of massive inflatable pool toys for kids to play on (big rafts and whatnot). On the minus side, there's not much in the way of hiking around there, and the campsites are carved up into pretty small areas. It's equivalent to taking a huge nice apartment in chicago and making 3 condos out of it. Where we were was nice, but I wouldn't want to be here on a big weekend. Also, check in is at an oddly late 3 PM time. It's extra to check in earlier than that unless they tell you otherwise. Overall, this place would be great for people with kids that don't really want to 'rough it' as much as chill in front of a fire. The quiet time is a family friendly 10 PM. I would not recommend it for a group of folks who want to party outdoors late. But if you have a group with a lot of kids say 5-11, I'd highly recommend it. read more

This place is a joke. Rented one of the beach cabins for Memorial Day weekend. They were still dumping sand and getting the place ready when we arrived on Friday. The WIFI did not work at all. And BUYER BEWARE..they charge you $25 per person for a wristband to go on the jump pillow , bicycles , and other activities , IT IS NOT included in your stay. The mattress in the cabin was terrible and DVD player didn't work. DONT play the arcade games because 75 percent of them don't work and they will not give you your money back , some 16 year old girl said " we don't own the arcade machines so we are not responsible if they don't work." What a joke this place is , find somewhere else to go. read more

We stayed in a park model site this weekend. We were impressed by how clean it was! Lots to do for the kiddos. We are not helicopter parents by any means but due to some rules not being enforced on the site (like water balloons on the jump pillow and 3 wheel bikes racing all over the place where they shouldn't have been) we didn't feel safe leaving our kids too far from reach. We were also annoyed by the constant golf carts being driven by kids- some as young as 10. Seems like a bad idea and a recipe for disaster. We were constantly yelling to our kids to watch out! For these reasons we won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to people with younger kids. Seems better for families with teens. read more

You really should stay here it has a really nice pool/pond it has a bunch of floaty's in the pond it has a trampoline it has all the fun activities to do and I go here every month with my cousin and it is a blast every time I come and if you are from here you do not need a wristband to play on the jumping pillow and there's a little shop that you can buy candy that's all over the world but it's nowhere in the world except the air and it is the best campground ever! Amazing. We love this place. This is a giant playground for kids. The place has everything a child needs to keep them entertained for days. We went up for the first time last year in memorial weekend. Recently, we were there this past weekend. Even though the water was too cold to swim, my kids had enough to do with riding bikes, playing games, water fights and jumping on the giant pillow. We're going up again this Memorial Day weekend and can't wait!!! read more

I can see why people would like this campground. In my eyes, if you enjoy camping and have kids..and have friends that camp...this is a great party style campground. I could tell many families enjoy it year after year. On a whim, we booked a cabin because we had a discount. It was fine. I didn't expect anything fancy, I expected a campground with some 'glamping' sites, a.k.a. what we booked. The cabin would not be worth the full price, I would say it wasn't worth the discount we paid. it smelled pretty bad and was infested (to put it nicely....it was completely over-run!) with ants. It was about the size of my closet, but we made it work. We kept our food boxed up, and hey - it was just a place to sleep, right? The next part was just a bummer but probably no ones fault...we went on a beautiful 80 degree weekend at the beginning of May, and they were draining the pond. They reminded us it was off season, but yeah - that kind of sucked. I guess I would have saved pond draining for a week day activity because the place was pretty booked. I had a 2 year old to entertain. We stayed in the site closest to the playground. It was littered with trash, and not a single piece of equipment was toddler friendly. Also, there were kids clearly under 10 (even through the driving age was supposed to be 12) taking over the campground in their golf carts all weekend, and one group of kids flew up into the playground and whipped around in their cart. So that was terrifying and I didn't feel safe even just watching her at the playground. All around, if my kid was over 8 I'd probably be like 'it was pretty okay!' but that wasn't our situation. The people in the office were nice, and when we needed a ring for fire pit they got it right away. I would never say 'don't go', I would say 'go see for yourself'. read more

I came with my family and my inlaws family we had kids all under ages 10 to 1 year old. Came for 2 nights 3 days. We loved our cabin it was new model and it had great amenities very clean (kitchen, bathroom bed rooms) there was activities for the kids to do. We loved the air jumping pillow we jumped and had tons of fun. Here is a couple of things to keep in mind when your planning to stay here. Each lodging option is a few feet away from each other very little privacy. If your looking for hiking trails and nature there is not much of it as most of the camp is occupied. We were planning on using our tent but decided not to because of privacy. I had read reviews stating that the staff is rude but they where ok. The pond seems like a lot of fun it has jumping games and toys keep in mind the slide ends in a 16ft deep pond aYou have to watch your kids if they are not swimmers. The one thing I would say needs to be manage better is the golf carts there where children as young as 11yrs ridding the golf carts and raising which I believe it's not safe at all we had toodlers and often had to be on the look out for golf cars driven by Lillie kids. Great place if you just want to stay indoors and relax while your pre teens or teens play. read more

My family and I go camping all over all the time and I have never been to a campground like this one. The Staff was so unprofessional and rude, not just to me and my husband but to my 4 and 5 years old kids as well. We arrived their to our surprise that the site they put us in was to small to get our camper into when we ask to change the staff who are all teenage girls snapped their fingers and rolled their eyes at us this continued through the weekend. we just bite our tongues and tried to have a good weekend. Sunday morning we fed our kids and they wanted to go ride the bikes so we went to eat their all-u-can eat breakfest in the store good food and the kids were running in and out and a few times wanted a bite of our waffles. We before we left that day I asked to talk to the manager and continued to tell them of the problems with their staff and the MANAGERS words were " well you have been giving us trouble all weekend and letting your kids eat the breakfest without paying for it I think she has a good reason to be rude". A few words were exchanged and we left NEVER NEVER to return again. We have never been so mistreated anywhere. clean, and fun thing for the kids to do if you can put up the staff. read more

We reserved 2 sites next to each other and we were given 2 sites on different sides of the campground. Our site was so small and on a hill that we couldn't put more than a 2 person tent on it. We had to share a site with our friends so we had a space for our tent. When we told the teenage staff, they were very rude and did nothing about it. The sites are crammed together, there is absolutely no space or privacy. This place is more like an amusement park than a campground. They cram you in to every square inch and everything costs extra. Don't forget your quarters so you can take a cold shower with little pressure. There are golf carts zooming everywhere, many driven by young kids. The only good thing about this campground is the swim pond (which our kids did enjoy). There are many great places to camp, this place is one of the worst due to customer service and the tiny plot of land they give you. If you camp here, keep your fingers crossed for good neighbors. You will get to know them really well. read more
