I am a big fan of BBQ and have tried some of the best different styles of BBQ throughout the country. I tell you that this place is SPECIAL puts any other BBQ joint fancy or not, big or small to shame. It is outstanding, the absolute best I have ever had. The brisket is to die for, as are their beef and pork sausages, so smoky and juice, each with their own distinct flavors. Their pulled pork I can't say enough good things about, as well as their ribs. I went with my family and tired everything and we were all blown away. Their sauces are equally good, we tried the mustard and regular honey BBQ they are both so good. They will suggest which one pairs better with each of the meats you are taking. Their mac and cheese is ridiculous, and the lady couldn't be sweeter or more proud of her joint. The cook was a younger guy, very respectful and graceful as well. They are just good humble people putting out some of the best BBQ you'll ever try. GO NOW you won't regret it. Tip she said to go on Thursday if you don't want to run the risk of anything running out. This place is a good candidate for 3 1/2 but I rounded up bc the guy is nice and the mac n cheese is really good!! We tried the ribs, brisket, & sausage. Ribs and brisket were probably average, the sausage was really yummy get that!! The mac n cheese was stellar as I mentioned, I didn't love the mac salad or potato salad just order mac n cheese as all the sides. Wow! Been for bbq a few times and I am a fan. Had half a chicken - just the right amount of smoke. Great sauce - let me try it before putting on the chix which was a good thing. The chicken was dry, and left a nasty after taste in my mouth...This is not BBQ...I've had wayyyyyy better BBQ than the one I had...It honestly was not worth 7 dollars....I will never purchase from this place again, and the owner (light skinned guy) kind of has a little rude demeanor to him. The guy cutting the meat was a bit more friendly and showed good customer service. All in all I give this 2 stars...There are better BBQ places people!!!!! This one is not it!!!!! As you can see below, THE OWNER is not nice at all...As a business owner you must be able to take criticism whether GOOD OR BAD...I didnt lie when I say the bbq left a nasty after taste in my mouth cause it did...I don't go off on leaving bad comments. This place is . Had three meat plate. Ribs, brisket and chicken. Delicious, smokey and juicy across the board. Owner was nice enough to warn me that the cry sauce was hot AF and recommended I try it before he sauced the meats. It was a bit too hot for me. I can't believe there are two sauces that were hotter than that! I do wish there was a level of sauce between sweet hot and cry sauce but that's splitting hairs. Meats were perfect. If you're like me and have long been looking for real barbeque in the Miami area, but not had any luck, you've finally found your place. This is the real deal. It's not a brick-and-mortar restaurant, but a real BBQ master with a smoker-truck that sets up shop everyday in a parking lot on the northwest corner of 103rd street and 7th avenue. You can get meals or sandwiches, everything from ribs to brisket to pulled pork, and he'll pull it out of the smoker right in front of you and prepare it however you want. There are five (maybe six?) different sauces to choose from, so whether you like a mustard or sweet style, you can find one to fit your taste. Great slaw and the baked beans, whoa, are unreal. I'm not sure I can even talk about the brisket, else I might need to get a napkin to wipe my mouth off just to finish this review. This is a hard working, down to earth, BBQ guy who decided to "retire" to do what he loves, and we are the recipients of this good fortune. I've enjoyed some of the best barbeque in Texas, Kansas City, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and even up in the Midwest, and I can honestly say that this ranks up there with the best of them. I've seen some comments about some char and/or fat in other reviews, but for those who know their BBQ, you'll know these are the cornerstones of a great, smoke flavor. I had family coming over last week and needed a quick take out option. Smokey Trails came through nicely. The owner was attentive and responsive when I called. He promptly emailed me the menu and suggested I order online, which I did. Ordering was easy, and when I had questions, I got answers quickly via text. I ordered the pulled pork, ribs, brisket, baked beans, mac and cheese and coleslaw. Unfortunately, he was out of coleslaw, but substituted it with the potato salad which ended up being a huge hit with the family. My family and I loved the smokey flavor of the meats and every one of the tasty sides. We tried a lot of the sauces offered and all complemented the meats very well -- I especially loved the spicy ones. Bottom line, I enjoyed the meal so much, I am ordering the pulled pork again as soon as I submit this review! Really great to know we have such a great BBQ spot nearby. read more
