This little gem is hidden in a shopping mall in Clifton! When you enter, you are greeted with an open and inviting space to enjoy food, drinks, and your companions. We came through most recently on a Monday night with only a handful of people inside. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu has plenty of good pizza, salad, and dessert options. The flavors for the garlic cheese sticks and pizzas we ordered were very good! The star is the self serve tap wall with excellent options of beer, cocktails, and wine. If soda is more your speed, there is also a good selection of Stubborn Sodas. There are tons of TVs for any sports you might want to watch while enjoying the eats and drinks. There is also a nice couch and chair set if you prefer a lounging spot. There also appeared to be a separate room to be able to book for private events. Most excellent pizza. The crust is crispy, but still very soft. One of the best I've had. We ordered the buffalo and a cheese/black olive. I would have them put the bleu cheese on the side next time. It was a little too much for my taste. I also had the raspberry sauce on the side. It did offer a unique flavor. I would recommend this place! read more

I give a 3 based on my food preference, being a vegetarian, I ordered a build your own pizza to include 4 veggies They put very few veggies on the pizza, charged a dollar for each veggie I'd wanted extra so I paid $4.00 in addition. Still the veggies were few. I noticed that pizzas with meat seemed to have plenty of meat. How unfair and discrimination against vegetarians. Will not eat there until they change their skimpy pizzas, provide more veggies and not charge extra for what should be the norm read more

The pizzas are very small with very little toppings. Since we were new to town, we didn't know to ask about the size .... You probably wanna order two if you're hungry And ask for extra toppings! The taste was fine. But could definitely use more sausage and olives! read more

Honestly, not bad. I just moved here from Chicago and have found it incredibly difficult to find some decent pizza. Wood-fired is definitely my favorite and a number of years ago I tried a different smokin' oak location in GJ I believe and never wanted to try this place again due to it being soggy and having my cheese and toppings slide right off. Decided to give this location a try, and I was glad I did. Got it well done as I feel a lot of times the pizza will be soggy but this one was not! Crust was delicious as well. Would like to see more variations of pizza though, I had a good pie with sweet fig jam, prosciutto, mozzarella, and creamy mascarpone. Would love a variation like that! read more

Shocking! The standards of the average Yelp reviewer. So, let's break it down. Smokin Oak is a chain. While its pizza is better than Dominos it's not stellar. It's mostly just different. Their unique selling point is their tap wall. You pay by the ounce based on your own pour. Which makes the beer a little bit more expensive. My problem with these systems is that it never pours a beer as great as a well-used tap at an actual beer bar. That being said.. 3 stars? You betcha. 3 1/2 stars? Okay, maybe? 4 stars? What! Hadn't order a pie in a while, thought we'd give this newer place a try. I wasn't paying attention when ordering and inadvertently placed an online order for their location on the other side of town. When we realized my mistake, they graciously offered to quickly make the order for us. AND the pizza was delicious! I ordered online as I was driving through Colorado with my 5 kids and ended up at the wrong location for pickup. It was 8:20 and they closed at 9. As soon as we realized I was in the wrong place, the staff insisted they remake our order to "get us fed." I still had a 4 hour drive ahead and could not be more appreciative of their kindness. They were so sweet and not at all irritated to have to make a big order so late. As I sat down to wait, the other location in Grand Junction called asking if I was still coming to get my order. I told him what happened and he was also so nice. He promised to pass out my order to hungry people. I was already going to give a 5 star review and then I actually got my order and it was so good! I stopped in here for a bite to eat, thinking it would be a great place to have pizza and a salad. The service was exceptional, very attentive and in the right place. I ordered a full smoking oak salad and added extra red onion, applewood, bacon, extra applewood bacon and pepperoni. They charged me 6 extra dollars totaling my salad $14.95. I was a bit surprised. I can understand for the protein the additional cost. The salad I got had very little pepperoni, very little bacon when I specifically asked for extra bacon. The Dijon dressing was not that good and the greens tasted dirty and old. After that salad, I ordered a pepperoni pizza. That was not much better since it was very greasy and fell apart when I tried to pick up each and every slice. There was barely enough cheese to cover the pie, and the pepperoni was so thin and very little on the pizza pie and it was too greasy. It tasted like a lightly cheese piece of bread. Not sure what the food was trying to accomplish. The design, the atmosphere was really good. They have an outside area for seating and it looks like it'd be a really cool place, but the food completely destroyed the restaurant. I will say the service was exemplary and they were very attentive when I needed something. The place was clean and neat, but the food brought it down. There was a silverware container with a few forks in it, but no knife and no spoon. I asked myself would I returned? This location was better than the one in junction but not after today. First you not only messed up our entire order, but you forget a pizza. Then you lie right to my face and remake the wrong pizza again. Extremely disrespectful then try and tell me I still owe you for the pizza you forgot. Pizza was good, they had a BOGO pizza coupon so it was crowded and busy, however they did a good job of taking care of a busy crowd. The reason I score if so low was because their self serve beer section was pouring foam only out of the Coors Lite tap. The girl didn't didn't do anything about it and charged me for it anyway.
