Wow I love their new location at the Clarion Inn, it has a high-end feeling with reasonable prices and the bartenders and the waiting staff always make us feel so welcomed! My family and I have had several Italian dishes there, and each of them have gone above and beyond our expectation, however last night, I decided to pick up a pizza and take it home, I really wasn't expecting much because I haven't been able to find an Italian pizza that meets my standards but their Pizza was extraordinary! I wish I wpuld have gone to Wendys across the street.. Seriously.. They are slow slow slow.. The bald guy was not attentive at all.. I had to leave the resturaunt to go get my own beer. He was horrible, The bread that he finally brought to the table was hard and stale.. Other Servers were at other tables.. There was a seven top that was seated after us and were eating before we even ordered.. When we first sat down they only had a dinner menu. We had to wait for him to appear to even ask for a drink menu. Then we had to wait again to get a pizza menu. I waited like 10 minutes to ask him about getting a beer and he never came back so I went to the bar and sat there to get a beer. My own server walked past me three times at the bar and didn't even once say anything. The ONLY reason I'm giving you two stars is the pizza that we ordered was really good. read more

The food we got takeout was fine, but they were horribly disorganized for our pick up. The restaurant directs you to DoorDash to order, but when I got there, they were confused about how to check the DoorDash orders. I arrived 10 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready, but it was clear that they hadn't really checked any of their DoorDash requests and didn't really start preparing anything until I got there. So we got the food about 45 minutes later unexpected. When the takeout was finally delivered, the host assured me there were knives forks and napkins for two people, but in fact when I got back to the hotel, there were no eating utensils in the package. These might sound like little annoyances, but when you were traveling on the road for multiple days, the added inconvenience of late delivery no way to eat the food made the experience pretty awful. The restaurant seemed really understaffed, and didn't really get the concept of customer service. read more

Stopped in for lunch at Citrola's Italian as it has been awhile since I last visited and was very pleased with the experience. Much better than I remembered from 2013, but some friends said give it another shot. So I did. They offer all the standard Italian favorites you'd expect, I decided to go with a pizza option. The Supreme pizza was spot on -- loaded with toppings, perfectly cooked, and exactly what I needed that day. It definitely hit the spot. One of the best additions is the sandwich shop, The Cutting Board. It's a great bonus, especially for lunch, giving you even more options if you're in a hurry or just craving a sub instead of pasta or pizza. Not sure if it's a partnership or just sharing space, but it's great and The Cutting board in the past has been a great lunch destination. Overall, good Italian food, great lunch option, and a place I'll definitely return to. read more

Love Citrolas!!! They have amazing meatballs -and the Tuscan salmon recommendation was spot on! Deana was sooooo lovely! Get the coconut shrimp, bruschetta and the meatballs. Presentation was done with purpose and care. The salads were so nice too! The space is very cozy and comforting. Go to the coffee shop too!!! And I want to try their pizza someday too! read more

Last weekend, I had family in town. My sister-in-law loves Italian food, and I looked online for an Italian restaurant for us to go to. My husband called ahead and reserved us a table for a large group. The restaurant was very accommodating and had a table waiting for us upon arrival. Our waiter was very patient while all parts of our priority arrived making sure that each of us had something to drink while we waited. Once all parties arrived, he promptly took our orders and made recommendations regarding the menu as well. Throughout the service, our drinks were filled, he checked in on us, and when the food arrived, it arrived promptly. The food was amazing. I had chicken Parmesan. The chicken very flavorful and the noodles were excellent. I ate every last bite of my meal. Everyone at our table was completely satisfied with their meal and we would definitely come back. They deserve so much more than 3.5 stars! I only stopped here for takeout, but the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! I got a classic spaghetti and meatball situation, and the meatballs were melt in your mouth delicious and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Complimentary garlic bread was also tasty, nice and soft too! If I lived in town I would definitely come here again :)! read more

Two words: Italian Gumbo. Ok, more words. Shrimp, Italian Sausage, Chicken all cooked to perfection served on an amazing mushroom risotto and then covered in a spicey red sauce. They nailed the spice! Enough so you experience it without needing the pain or overwhelming sensations other restaurants call spicey. This is a meal I've always wanted and didn't know it. If any of those ingredients put you off, just keep walking, but if you like them all, you will LOVE this dish. Like a warm hug. The atmosphere is beautiful with soft instrumental music, private booths and tables where people can hold a conversation and actually hear each other. Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing. The bread is so good, too. The menu is extensive and I've loved everything I have tried. The drink selection is really nice and they have several good wines and cocktails. Service is always good. We like to sit on the right side of the restaurant which is a little less formal. Sometimes, that good, carb-heavy Italian is just what you need, and Citrola's delivers. The restaurant is warmly decorated in classic "Italian" styling in a way that speaks of attention to detail but not anything too fancy. The dim lighting and Italian music complete the ambience. When our waiter brought out the bread, it wasn't just butter-drizzled. On, no! The soft, warm slices rested in a puddle of melted butter, and I can attest that it was a delicious experience to mop up that butter with that bread. One of my go-tos is chicken picatta, that this one is delicious. The sauce serves up a nice tang as well as depth--it's not too intense a flavor, nor is it too light. And, finally, the dessert. They offer several versions of cream pies, but we had to try one slice of the chocolate-flavored one. It was a large slice, with tall meringue resting atop a richly chocolatey base. The service was very friendly and patient with our kids but it took a long time to get our pastas which were a bit bland and plain for the price. The kids chicken nuggets had an odd gritty texture and my son wouldn't eat them. I've only seen him refuse one other meal of chicken nuggets before! The Hidden Gem Of Grand Junction ! We did not realize it but we arrived just before closing. We were greeted and the most made us feel very welcomed. We were seated and ordered our food. What a neat place, you'd think being in a strip mall it would be so-so. We saw this place and decided to give it a try, sure glad we did. Place was super clean and great ambience. James our server was on point, friendly, informative and efficient. Made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. Our food was amazing. The bread they serve with the meals.....OH MY! We started with bruschetta and a couple glasses of wine. I had the Alfredo and my husband had the gumbo with the risotto. For the life of me I cannot figure out why this place gets such a low rating. I very rarely give 5 stars. 5 stars I reserve for very special places. But this place deserves an easy 4 stars and I wish I could give them 4.5 stars. The service was very nice and friendly. The food was great. My wife had salmon and I had shrimp. Both were excellent. Fast friendly and raviolis were outstanding! The portion was just right! Very clean and welcoming! Only bad thing is they only are open for 4 hours in the evening and not lunch! We tried Citrola's for the first time and were very happy with the atmosphere and service. Scott was really great and patient with us. We like to get drinks and an app and then order dinner and he was really helpful also with recommendations. The food was excellent, we had the mussels app which was excellent, and the Italian gumbo and Marsala buffalo ravioli which was awesome. The wine and drinks were also spot on. Far and away, the best Italian in the Valley! I travel out to Grand Junction on business often and have eaten at all the Italian places in town. This is the only place that does not over cook their pasta, the kiss of death for an Italian restaurant, and doesn't drown their pasta in sauce. The ravioli are very well done. The Bolognese is hearty and flavorful. They don't roll out the trough either, so you're not in an unrecoverable food coma afterward. Decent wine selection with some variety. Revisited after 3 years. The kids mac and cheese was excellent. Really top notch. Add it to the adult menu. The pizza was very good but the crust was too charred on the bottom. It was very hard to cut. Fix the crust and it would be excellent The cheese ravioli's were pillows of heaven but the caper sauce was too heavy on the brine and overpowered the dish. The tiramisu was average. Not much chocolate flavor. Service was excellent. Tianna was a very young server. Was a nice enough place, and had friendly staff, the pizza looked good, I didn't eat that though, had the brussel sprouts and some shrimp. I was in the mood for shrimp and really like brussel sprouts. Sadly, I was disappointed. My sprouts were so over cooked they were like eating burnt paper, and barely tasted like blue cheese. The shrimp were ok, but had a weird flavor. Got seated on this horrible uncomfortable bench seat. Got served a barely cool bottled beer. The ambiance was nice. Prices are a bit pricey but this is next to the airport and hotels. Waitress took my order 15 minutes ago; haven't seen her since. She missed a chance to get me another warm beer. Small $16 pizza came. Crust was awful and toppings were flavorless. No offer for another beer which is probably a good thing. Wanted to ask for Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes but my waitress disappeared again.
