Pretty disappointed, my girlfriend has a gluten allergy to the point where she gets hospitalized if she gets cross contamination. I was craving for ice cream on a cold rainy day and my boyfriend took me here. We found parking directly in front of the entrance. At first, I thought it was closed but they were open. There were no customers so we didn't have to wait long to order. I was debating on trying the matcha ice cream but I ended up choosing the cannoli ice cream with the English toffee topping. I was amazed on how they prepared the ice cream. I wish I could post videos! Let's just say that I've never seen so many working kitchen-aids under one roof. Not to mention the huge tank of nitrogen. The preparation was pretty cool -- it's just one of those, you have to be moments. Moving on to the ice cream -- it was delicious. Been here twice and both times got the chocolate s'mores. As a chocolate lover their chocolate ice cream is so rich and creamy, I love it. Maybe one day I can write a review about another flavor if I can stop myself from ordering s'mores again lol Inside the place is cute, well lit, cool tables and chairs and outdoor seating. Went to Smokin' Scoops for the first time and had no idea what I was walking in to. All I can say is wow! The atmosphere is very friendly and inviting, staff is very personable. And the ice cream is fantastic. They mix it right in front of you and then they put them in these little metal chimneys and add the liquid nitrogen...and that's when the fun begins. If you haven't been, definitely give it a try. One note I will add is that the bubble cone only fits one scoop and if you are getting your order to go don't have the ice cream put in the bubble cone. It pains me to write this review because I absolutely love supporting small businesses and do so every chance I get. However today I was really disappointed. My boyfriend and I made a stop to the shop because of some amazing photos of ice cream we saw online. We live in CT but decided to make the trip over because we enjoyed the concept and that's the only reason for the additional star. Upon arrival the shop was completely empty. However that didn't mean anything because it took us several minutes to even be acknowledged after walking in. We are then informed that they are out of crepes, waffle bowls, and sugar cones. It's an ice cream shop? So we decided on milkshakes. Well I attached a picture of what I supposedly ordered and what I received. Reminder it was not busy. This may have been the grossest milkshake I've ever had. It tasted like frozen milk and you could not decipher what flavor it was what so ever. Horrible service (and it wasn't that busy). One of our order was wrong and they gave my husband a hard time about it. When the girl who took our order realized, she just stood there and didn't even apologize. Lots of attitude and made it felt like we were a "bother". The people who came in after us got their full order completed before us. I knew we should of just left when the girl who took our order rolled her eyes and sighed because we weren't ready. Our first visit weirdly enough was not for icecream but for drinks at the bar only. They have a full bar with a small but good selection of beers. I got the Russian Honey Cake and my ice cream was kind of icey but I'm not sure if that's because of the flavor I got. My friend got the Crazy Cow which was a vanilla flavor ice cream and it tasted really good! Very creamy was well. The bubble cone was really good, I would recommend that. The process was kind of long even though there was no orders before us. The ice cream melted realllly fast too. I'm not sure if that was intentional. Ive been to other nitro based ice cream places and don't recall ice cream melting that quick. I think opening up this type of shop is great since there's nothing like it around this area. I think working on improving their process to quickly get orders out and maybe having little activities for guest can amp up the atmosphere! read more

My wife and I just made our first visit and had a delightful time. We had heard about how they make each serving of their ice cream after you order so it's guaranteed fresh What we also learned is that their service is even better. I ordered the salted caramel with "their own hot fudge" It was yummy My wife also ordered the salted caramel. After I had paid for everything she saw the toasted almonds and started to moan that she wanted them. It's good, I forgot what I got but it gives me the same vibes as milkcraft in Hartford, CT, but at a step down. Prices are kind of outrageous for the portion. Menu is limited, but not too bad. After placing our order, every single table was dirty and had crumbs all over it but the table we chose did have a napkin dispenser on it so we just cleaned the table ourself. The first cone came out pretty fast, however we waited more than 20 minutes for our other two cones. About 15 minutes into waiting they told us it would be a wait because they had to make fresh cones... understandable but the group that came AFTER us (who also ordered bubble cones) was served BEFORE us (and quickly too)? Whipped cream tasted bland and chalky. Comes with topping we didn't order. The topping we did order (and charged an extra $1 for) were not even put on the ice cream. The waffle cone was slightly burnt.
