3.5 This place was $88 for four people and no fun drinks, so I had pretty high expectations, and to my surprise, it did not disappoint. I got the classic burger and it was SOO good. And it was a good sized burger too. Now the reason why it's only 3.5 stars instead of something a little higher is because there were so. many. flies. I ordered the Gucci burger for pickup and I could not wait to try it. The reviews made it sound so good. Unfortunately, the hamburger meat was burnt so badly on both sides that it tasted burnt, was completely dry and the meat was crunchy. I don't know about you, but I do not want to eat dried out, burnt black crispy hamburger meat. (See pictures.) Horrible horrible service. I walked in, walked up to the counter, and told the employee that I had ordered online and I was here to pick up my burger. I was 15 minutes early, and I explained that to the man and told him if the burger wasn't ready yet, I understood. He just looked at me. He did not say a word. He just looked at me. We stood that way for what seemed like a long time and finally, I said "did you hear me?" He just kept looking at me without a word. Whaaaaa? It seemed unreal and confusing. Finally he slowly walked over and picked up a bag that contained my burger. I asked him if napkins and ketchup was in the bag. He pointed at the wall under the kitchen window. I helped myself. The reviews for this place were so good, but I never expected such a terrible experience. I do have to say that I ordered coleslaw as my side and the coleslaw was absolutely excellent. But it still didn't make up for everything else being so bad. I think it would've been a good burger if the meat hadn't been so burnt I can't believe they even sold something like that. The kitchen should've made a better patty. If they burnt it that badly they should've made a new one. Also, my burger was cold. I was there 15 minutes early, so what did they do, make my hamburger at the time I ordered it rather than honoring the time I said I would pick it up, which was an hour later? By the way, scroll down in the Yelp listing and you will see that this restaurant has nine health violations. That's not me saying that. Surprisingly good! The reason I was surprised is probably because it's Glenwood Springs and the place is not downtown but in a shopping center (where Target is). It's a walking distance from the hotels nearby (but there's no sidewalk so you have to walk in the parking lots). The burgers were really good. My wife said it was one of the best she had (she went for the bbq brisket one). I have a very clear vision of what a good burger should be and looks like they guys here share my vision: not too many ingredients - keep it simple! Not to stacked so I can eat it without having to break my jaw or use a knife and fork, and use a good, fresh bun. Also, I HATE it when a burger gets soggy quickly and this one did not. It would be great if they gave more fries though, the portion is pretty small. read more

We were starving after a long day of fun in Glenwood Springs and arrived 10 minutes before closing. Tristin at the counter was super chill about it, gave us great recommendations, and told us there was no need to rush. We ordered the burger of the day (super spicy - my hubby loved it) a with a cup of banana pudding as his side. I got the best chicken sandwich (the Good Old Boy) with Parmesan truffle fries as my side. Yum! Definitely worth a stop after a nice soak in the hot springs. I went out of the way to come here after the Hanging Lake hike (it's not too far away), and it was very much worth it! I don't know how, but their food comes out really fast. Maybe because we just missed the lunch rush. I ordered the Gucci burger (which btw, comes with a side, and was a pleasant surprise.) The burger had tomato, havarti, arugula, truffle Brie aioli, fried jalapeños, and blackberry gastrique. I skipped the bacon, but it does come with that as well. My boyfriend had the El Patron burger, which has carnitas, Carolina reaper jack cheese, guac, grilled onion, jalapeño, Mayo, and a fried egg. Both burgers were incredibly decadent. My boyfriend kept saying it's the best burger he ever had. It was a massive amount of food, but we were able to power through. I feel like two people could actually split a burger though. For our fries, I had the pickle fries and he tried the Parmesan garlic with truffle Brie sauce. Both were really good, but I loved the uniqueness of the pickle fries. They were flavorful without being overly salty. There are a multitude of fry options here, and they all sound really good. It's a small place, so better for small groups. The guy who took our order was helpful in making recommendations, so that was a nice touch. I'd go out of my way to come back here, that's for sure. read more

We stopped in Glenwood Spring on our way back from Aspen to Denver, and we were blown away. The Gucci burger was stellar- the blackberry gastritis was the perfect mix of spicy, smoky, and sweet. It was balanced well with the Gucci sauce that had just a hint of horseradish, with perfectly chewy bacon. And the FRIES! We got them Gucci style and they were stellar- covered in Parmesan and so flavorful. We also got the Nashville chicken, which was good but very spicy, so if you're a wuss like me you might steer clear. We weren't impressed with the banana pudding, which was too heavy on the whip cream and the sprinkles were a weird choice. The cashier was very nice and offered to cut our sandwiches in half so we could share more easily. Love the decor, with the chandeliers mixed with black paint and simple industrial furniture. Wow! I'm not impressed easily. We've been hiking the Elk mountains near Aspen this week. Had our pizza fill yesterday. Wanted protein and carbs for Pyramid tomorrow. Underbelly Burger kept popping up. It sits in a very suburban esq strip mall a mile west of downtown. Didn't know it was there? Unassuming small place. The menu needs to updated to make it clear that there is a patty of beef on every everything . My buddy ordered "all my x's" ( brisket) I ordered the el Patron " pork carnitas" when it was brought to us we were both surprised it came with a beef patty. Menu not real clear. The flavor was amazing. The carnitas flavor was subtle. It didn't overpower the beef. The egg made it heavenly. Tbh, a good burger. The flavors meshed together quite nicely. Beef, egg, avocado, felt like I was having second breakfast. The carnitas were the cherry on top. The reaper jack cheese and jalapeños added the perfect level of spice for my white American self. Would eat again, lots more items on the menu I'd like to try. Our shuttle bus driver recommended Underbelly Burger and he was spot on! The patty is a smash burger type patty and are crispy on the outside without being tough. Meat is flavorful but not too salty nor oily. Fries are awesome. Coleslaw is amazing. Service is very friendly and helpful too. It's not a large space but there is ample seating for. Omg I don't know where to begin. I got the Gucci burger and boy was it FIRE!!! It was huge to begin with and cooked to perfection. The burger had a nice spicy and sweet component to it. The flavors just hit well together. Their fries are different from typical fries. They have the regular friends with a hint of curly fries flavor I don't know how to describe it. Service was fast! Like with in minutes of getting my food. The ambiance is chill, interesting decor choice but I love it. The only thing going for this burger is the bun. The lettuce was wilted hearts of romaine. One singular very small slice of tomato. I went with the Ew Mommi (weird name) burger which is a beef patty with mushrooms, crispy onions, arugula, tomato, pickles, and Swiss cheese. I upgraded my side of fries to the Korean Spice fries with kimchi mayo. I really enjoyed all of it. The burger is large and the perfect size for a heavy lunch. The fries were crispy and the upgraded fries weren't overly spicy but added a lot of flavor. The place was packed at lunch which meant people were sharing tables. It also gets very crowded around the counter so going up to the fountain machine for soda refills can be kinda hectic. The dining area was clean and the food arrived very quickly. An alternative to a beef burger was not on the menu, so I went in to ask if they had an option to beef. THEY DO! They have impossible burgers! So I ordered a classic with an impossible burger (delicious) with fries (yummy). Jamie ordered a mushroom specialty burger also with an impossible patty (also delicious) with her side being a seaweed salad. Yeah! Service was really fast! Ambiance is clean, a bit eclectic and nice. Best of all, they have booth seating so we could sit side-by-side. The burgers here are phenomenal!! You can absolutely taste the difference in the quality of the beef and the unique ingredient combinations are pure perfection.
