We had plans to go to Maine for a summer camping trip, but 2020 was like no I don't think so. Instead we booked a trip to the Smoky Mtns! Klaire and Patrick are the sweetest couple managing the property and ensuring everything was just right. They provide quite the hot list of things to do and fav sights to see while staying. We checked out quite a few of their recommendations, and they did not disappoint! We loved that the campground was quaint and not a concrete campground like many others in Gatlinburg. We had sites 24,27, 28, and the papa bear cabin. This was such an amazing spot to post up and social distance from the world! Easy access to remote hikes that are stunning and away from the craziness of downtown Gatlinburg. We would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great getaway! read more

Lovely campground! Would stay here again. Staff is friendly and helpful and the facilities are clean. It doesn't have the extra frills (ex. mountain waterslides), but we didn't want them as we are here to explore the Smoky mountains and nearby towns. The pool and hot tub are nice and well maintained. We also like that it was a smaller campground. There is not a lot of traffic and it's easy to walk to everything. read more

There's a reason this spot is top rated. We rent camped even though it was heavily based around RV camping, so there's only about 3 spots. We stayed in spot 2 which was spacious, between trees, and easy to stay away from all the RVs. Bathrooms were still extremely close to get to, were REAL bathrooms, and amazingly clean! Since most people on site were in RVs, there was also a ton of privacy in the bathrooms - I could talk about them forever, these are hands down the best part of these campgrounds. Service was helpful and always around. We loved our whole experience and honestly thought about canceling the cabin rental we had to stay a few extra days! (They even let us use their golf cart to transport). When we where thinking of staying longer they were trying to work it out for us if they could. Great pool and hot tub! The campground was clean, quiet, and nicely landscaped. Disclaimer: We were tent camping not RV. The RV guests seemed very happy. I would not at all take my review into account if you are using an RV If you are looking for a place to camp with a tent, this is not the place to do it. Part of the issue is that I didn't do enough research, but being an experienced camper I've never in my life paid $32 a night to pitch a tent. I wasn't told the price when I called to make a reservation. I also needed a campground with wifi, and when I called I specifically asked if I would get good wifi reception in the tent area and was told absolutely. When I checked in it was made clear that I wouldn't get good wifi and that I'd probably need to come closer to the office for reception. Also there was a very bright yellow light right next to our site that was on all night, and you can hear traffic from the road all night as well. The bathrooms are really really nice though, the other guests are really quiet. And the actually site itself, other than the light, was nice. Overall I was really frustrated that I paid $64 to camp for two nights. It's ridiculous and honestly a complete rip off. read more

The entire place is very clean and well kept up. They also gave me some local info (where to eat, things to see and do) and the WiFi was pretty good too. Definitely will stay here again. read more

We are repeat campers here and love this place. It is small and hidden from the road so there isn't a lot of noise. Even with kids and dogs it is a low key quiet place. So clean you could eat off the concrete. Nice pool and laundry facilities. Not too far from the action...but far enough to enjoy the mountains! read more

Staying at this campground was one of the worst experiences my family and I have ever had. Where do I begin when listing the reasons why I wouldn't recommend. I guess start from day 1. We arrive to our cabin which was rented with 6 other sites with 6 other families for a week. The campground was aware that 7 families with children were coming down to spend time all together. On day 1 we arrived and our outside door handle was broken along with a few other small things. We brought the handle to the office staffs attention due to safety leaving it unlocked. The staff said they would fix it the next day. When we reminded them we were leaving for the day so they could have time to fix it they told us we had to be careful with their things. Like it was our fault. But ok whatever it was getting fixed. Then during the first night campfire we were blamed for being loud after we asked the staff member Patrick if the music and taking were at appropriate levels only 30 minutes prior. Not to mention when he came to speak to the group he was wearing no shoes and holding a beer. They will review this comment and say he was in no shoes because he was woken up. This is not true since he was seen the entire time circling our sites. After that night it appeared that Patrick and the other staff had it out for our group. They circled the camp daily at all times of the day/night just to try and make our stay difficult. An older couple came by our sites one of the days and commented that they were told about our group upon arrival. This couple stayed for a drink during the evening and couldn't believe what they heard about us because they didn't believe it after meeting us. After all the harassment and what felt like daily stalking we decided to spend time in one of the many cabins our group rented to play cards and talk since we couldn't do it outside. We spoke to other campers who had sites around us to ask if they thought we were being loud and here told all they could hear were dogs barking all night. Which also seems to be true of this campground based on other reviews I have read. 2 members of our party went outside on the porch and were immediately reprimanded for having the porch light on. So now not only were we not allowed to have a fire, music or laughter but porch lights were not allowed either. Patrick told the members of our group that everyone was being evicted in the morning despite certain members of our group not even being in the cabin playing cards. I should mention btw that all the kids on our group were in bed by 10 to ensure quiet time. Patrick, a women staff member, the maintenance man and the sheriff arrived to kick everyone out before 10am the next day. We packed up all of our things and moved to an amazing campground called Imagination Mountain Campground and Resort. This place was wonderful. So many activists for the kids including putt-putt, ice cream, movies, Easter activities, playground to name a few. But the most amazing part was that as parents we were allowed to have a fire, play music, talk, and laugh without Patrick and other staff members stalking our site. We did not have one issue with this new campground. So I guess if your looking for a campground that with stalk your site, reprimand you for laughing too much, blame you for breaking items that were already broken, and have no fun activities for the kids then this place is for you. If not please don't waste your time and money here. Oh last but not least the staff likes to harshly comment back on reviews to try and make it sound as if they are the victims which to me is poor enough customer service. This coming from someone who works in the medical field and has been a font line worker through all of the pandemic with about half of the other members of our party. I made a reservation 2 months previous to my arrival date for an RV sight at Smokey Bear Campground and RV Resort. We traveled from CA. 4 days before our arrival to the resort we changed our plans. When i called the Resort to cancel our reservation the management said I had to pay $48 for the first night because i didn't call 10 days in advance. I was shocked.what a penalty! To be fair he said he would hold the reservation for a year. We aren't coming back to this area in the next year. I have never been ask to cancel 10 days in advance. I feel this is unreasonable. I thought he told me 3 days in advance. That is reasonable. I am a Good Sam member and don't even have to pay $48 a night to camp there. read more

Nice little remote place to relax at. About a half hour from town so stock up first. RV sites are tiered so some don't have enough room for a flat table or chair sitting. Also couldn't extend the awning all the way so rain was a problem hanging outside. More positives than the couple of site shortcomings but certainly not a deal breaker for coming back. read more

I gave this 5 stars because I can't imagine finding a better campground. And we stay in lots of them. The owners are so wonderful. Every day, twice a day they would walk the grounds and ask if everything was ok. The grounds are beautiful. The playground (in my experience, the first thing neglected) is safe and well maintained. The pool and bath house are the cleanest I have ever experienced. And they fed us ice cream! We will be coming back at least once a year from here on out!! read more

My friends and I camped here towards the end of a two-week long road trip. It was not our first choice of campgrounds (we were looking closer to Dollywood) but due to the high tourist traffic and car show in Gatlinburg, every campground I called was either fully booked or required a two night stay. SOOOO thankful we found this one!! The camp manager is THE nicest guy ever. He was so incredibly helpful and accommodating, and really went above & beyond to ensure my friends and I were going to be comfortable and enjoy our stay. The bathrooms were super clean, the campsites were close enough to not be terrifying for a group of 3 twenty-something girls, but far enough away to not feel crowded. The neighboring campers were also insanely friendly- they came over while we were starting the fire and offered us some more wood and invited us to breakfast the next morning! Unfortunately we had an early start so we couldn't take them up on the offer. I will definitely be back. read more

Staff is very nice, welcoming and helpful. They gave us a nice brochure of things to do in the area that they personally recommended. A gentleman even guided us to our site and helped position the trailer in the best possible place for maximum use. Bathrooms were very clean, shower was large with anti-slip on the floor. We had a very shaded, fairly level site with stones that kept the site dry and clean even in rain. Discount for cash payment - we loved it so much we even extended our reservation 1 night. Very easy access to Gatlinburg and entrance to the National Park, about 15 minutes. read more
