This was our second time ziplining. Frank and Brennan were fantastic guides. Safety was their first priority and we felt secure. They both had such a great personality keeping us laughing and calming our nerves. I will warn that all of the line platforms are up high. Many are small platforms high up on a tree. The first time we ziplined the terrain was different and this wasn't the case. So a warning for those afraid of heights - it was stressful. The facility is well built and maintained.

This place is amazing! The staff are so very nice and the views are incredible! There are 7 zip lines and it takes about 2 hours to complete. My 9 year old and myself LOVED it!! We will definitely do it next time we're in town. Dalton and John were our guides and kept us laughing the entire time!!

We had a great experience. Beautiful weather in late March. The staff was funny and the owners were so kind. I've never been around such great hospitality. Plus they have the cutest dog ever. This stop made for a great rest of our day. The views on the zip lines were incredible.

That was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Our guides Josh & Drew (pillsbury) were funny, made it easy to relax and enjoy the trip down the lines. It was in a BEAUTIFUL spot. The views were amazing. If we could have gone around a few times we would have, I'd do this a million times more!

    We had a blast!!

My first time zip lining and what an awesome experience! The team, everyone of them, were friendly, funny and down home kind of people. Our guides were Drew and Travis and OMG they made the almost 2-hour excursion memorable in the best kind of way; informative, funny and all the while very safe! We made memories that won't be forgotten anytime soon!

Absolutely LOVED this place. A little cheaper than most places around the area. Our tour guides Frank and Drew were amazing and really made sure to include everyone in the tour. Really enjoyed this place and felt safe the entire time. Highly recommend!

We parked across the street in their free parking area, which had plenty of available spots at that hour. The walk over was less than a mile and very manageable. Although the weather wasn't ideal--light rain and chilly temperatures--it didn't take away from the experience. We started by walking around and taking everything in. There are so many cute shops, unique stores, and plenty of great photo opportunities throughout the area. We did a little shopping, sampled some food, and purchased tickets to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, which was a highlight. Before heading out, we made one last stop at Ole Smoky Moonshine, which is always a fun experience. Even though the weather didn't fully cooperate, we still had a great time and really enjoyed our visit. The Island has a fun, lively atmosphere and offers something for everyone--we'd definitely go back!

With that being said, we found it a bit of a tourist trap and pricey, but that was to be expected for the area and kind of place this is. There are tons of alcohol tasting places and food places through out here. We did do a stop and tasting at Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, which was unique enough since I am from the west coast visiting, and fun. I still think if you want more authentic tastings and food, to go to downtown Gatlinburg instead (it's all similar enough though). We also did a wine tasting here and all the wines were so sweet for my palette. I did enjoy the shops and pursuing around this beautiful area. A great spot to get some steps in. Many places also offer free samples of food to (like the candy store) so don't be afraid to go in and try.

It had a coupon for $12 off!! We called on Tuesday night about 7:45 (they closed at 9) and talked to Teresa who was able to schedule our foursome for a trip at 2:00 on Wednesday. She was so helpful and gave us some tips for travel to Hartford. Once we got there we checked in with a very competent and thorough young lady. We took a short bus ride to the "put in" point. On the 10 minute ride some of the guides performed fun comedic routines which kept us from thinking about how hot we were on a bus with no AC ( except open windows), decked out in life jackets and helmets while holding our paddles upright. :-) We got paired with a river rafting guide named Brantley. He gave us great paddling instructions before we even entered the raft. Since we had all been river rafting before, he explained that the trick to having a more exciting trip is to synchronize your paddle strokes. We had a great time with Brantley. We truly appreciate his concern for our "fun factor" and especially our safe trip down the river.

The trip was perfect with several fun rapid dips and splashes but also calm moments to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Other raft riders even got out to float for a bit. We had no issues finding a date available, but some scheduled times were already booked out, so make sure to reserve ahead of time! There are SEVERAL whitewater rafting companies and I cannot speak for the other companies, but I had a very pleasant time with Rafting In the Smokies! Our rafting guide was incredibly knowledgeable with the nearby area and was competent in keeping us safely down Class III and Class IV rapids across ~5.5 miles down the river! Very family-friendly and a fun experience, even for people who have never whitewater rafted! TYPE OF RAFTING: Upper Pigeon River Rafting - Class III/IV (note: Lower Pigeon rafting is apparently more like a "lazy river" - type of experience!) PARKING: Plentiful Scheduling: Easy to schedule online, they called the day prior to confirm our trip and advised us to arrive 45 mins before our scheduled rafting trip! PRICE: Affordable and there was a promo code on their website! They also do coupon books too (you'll find them everywhere in Gatlinburg lol) Location: Technically in meet-up at their HQ in Hartford TN, so make sure you account for driving time! They bus us to the TN-NC border. FAMILY-FRIENDLY? Yes! I saw plenty of teens and parents on the rafts, especially families that have never white-water rafting! DIFFICULTY: I didn't have any trouble staying in the boat and only saw one person (out of probably 50 people) fall out, but was safely pulled back into a raft! RECOMMEND? Absolutely. It was a great outdoor activity to do with family and I really enjoyed the views of the Smoky Mountains while rafting! Make sure to wear sunscreen since the rafting isn't very shady!
