My son really likes Smoothie King and enjoys stopping in for post work out bevvies occasionally. I would probably never in my life step foot in one if not for him. I've been known to love an Erewhon smoothie but recently purchased my own Mikuna plant protein and started making them at home. We both ordered the peanut butter smoothie. It was delish!!! It has dates in it and I LOVE dates! I had the smallest size and it was the perfect little afternoon pick me up to hold us over until dinner. What I appreciated most about their protein was it was easily digestible and didn't give me a rumbly tummy like many proteins can. I placed my order online, when I arrived no one greets you especially if you're standing my the online/pickup area. I was ignored 10 mins before approaching the register. I asked about my order and she was like "oh it's ready". My thing is why wasn't I acknowledged? I don't know why some businesses can't find the socially competent teenagers to work but it's getting real old when they cop an attitude because they aren't willing to explain themselves. I needed dairy free and the cashier couldn't spit out that 3 of the things in the drink I wanted had dairy.. once she did (with the help of another girl who didn't acknowledge me until the next part of this rude experience) no biggie on the dairy, I then nicely asked what was dairy free and the rude one who inserted herself, says one word with a complete attitude "vegan" .. I'm sorry like no kidding.. so I said I know but which drinks are dairy free.. she then said the vegan ones.. doesn't point to a section on the menu which is chaotic and hard to read.. can't be bothered to list some of the options.. there is just no help, kindness or patience when heaven forbid you can't read the menu/aren't familiar with the menu. I chose to leave before I said something matching her tone and vibe, because she wouldn't have liked it very much had I spoken to her the way she spoke to me. There person who claimed to be the franchise owner/ manager with a very thick accent and who finally answered the phone after nonstop calling for over 30 minutes was extremely rude and tried to play dumb when I kept asking for a refund for and smoothie ordered online for pick up. He kept talking over me and I finally had to scream at him, in which he hung up. I called back and He LIED and stated that he could not give me a refund and it had to be done on the app. I called the corporate line and they stated that he gave false information and the refunds are process through the franchise location. He stated that it wasn't his problem. He also stated that no one could answer the phone for over 30 minutes straight because they were too busy for anyone to answer. RIDICULOUS!! The staff did not move with any urgency at all, there were about 10 people waiting in the store. I did a mobile order and I arrived 15 minutes later and my smoothie was still not ready. When I finally got my smoothie it was only two thirds full- as you can see in the picture. I paid $9 for my smoothie. It's a disappointment that it wasn't full. The service was really slow. They only had one person working and it was a bit busy. Furthermore, I went in on a Friday and apparently they have a deal on Fridays for $5 and $6 32 oz smoothies. I did not notice the small sign advertising this until after I ordered a 20 oz smoothie for the same price as I could have paid for a 32oz smoothie. When I inquired about it, the attendant blamed me for not reading the sign vs being helpful and attentive enough to offer me this deal. I won't be back. Slowest service I've ever experienced. FIX your process. I got a refund after wasting my time (20+ minutes) on a single drink only to find out it would be another 15+ minutes! TELL people if there's a backup ahead of time. This is not the first time I've experienced this but it will be the last time. I've also seen other customers demand a refund and walk out. After I came across a coupon deal for signing up for their email list (a $1.99 20oz smoothie), I decided to stop in for the first time this morning. It appeared that there was only one lady working at the time (8:30am), and after I told her this was my first time at Smoothie King, she took care to figure out what I'd like, inform me of some of their most popular smoothies, their newest smoothies, and her personal favorite. She did a great job of being attentive, but not at all pushy. She had a good understanding of what went into each options, calorie content, etc. In the end, I asked her to make what she makes for herself almost every morning (a Strawberry Banana Vanilla Lean 1). SOOO tasty, and filling. Smoothie King may sell a decent product however their customer service is HORRIFIC!!! I recently received one of their incredibly EXPENSIVE tumblers as a Christmas gift....it took two trips and two conversations with a manager at their location after Christmas for them to give me my free smoothie. The day I received my free smoothie I also discovered that my tumbler was damaged; the manager refused to replace the tumbler because I drank my free smoothie from it while in the store. Only complaint I have is your staff, every time I go in they aren't very friendly, don't greet you when you walk in, they are very short with you when you are ordering. Tonight, though, my husband went in at 645 (they close at 7) and was told by the employee that even though they weren't closed yet they couldn't help him because they'd already cleaned their blender.
