This place tastes like Chipotle if Chipotle visited Flavortown and married a chef that actually gave a sh*t about the quality of their food and sauces and then they had a baby and named it Fresh Kitchen or FK for short. Lots of really excellent bowls here. Can't go wrong with a tender medium rare steak bowl with veggies. If the menu is overwelming or you're not sure what goes together, just ask the staff- they're very helpful. Looking forward to coming back soon when I'm in the area! FK yeah!

The parking was real easy, walked right in a couple of people ahead of us. told them wI hadn't eaten here before I needed some help with the menu and ordering. We both over did it ordering on our bowls. Definitely had too much food in it and the mixture,. I don't know if there were the kind of foods that would go together well in a bowl. Chicken was good, sweet potatoes are good. I didn't really like the noodles too much. The sauce that I put on top was good. Overall, it's was ok, the music was kinda loud in there. We opted to sit inside , outside would probably be a better thing to do if you're looking for a little bit of peace and quiet. It's something different to try, can check it off my list now.

The regular bowl is relatively inexpensive at $10.95 but so filling as to allow for leftovers. The teriyaki chicken, rice, broccoli, feta and toasted almonds, and mushrooms were a treat with the creamy garlic sauce. I also sampled the turmeric ginger sauce with steak, sweet potato noodles and forbidden rice. All fantastic! You cannot make a mistake ordering. The servers at the counter explained everything, and were patient and kind. I love the healthy fast food feel of this restaurant. It was clean and organized.

The used to serve pork tenderloin which was like nothing at any other restaurant. They replace with a pulled pork, then no pork at all. When that was taken off the menu we sort of gravitated towards other options. Coming back, there were even more changes to the menu. The usual favorites are still here, mine being the warm sweet potato noodles. My wife got the pesto noodles but they were served cold (a bit of a shock). My regular bowl was overflowing with noodles and roasted broccoli. Both good I got teriyaki chicken as my protein, it was just ok, the base and veggies made the dish. The toppings and sauce completed the bowl. It was good. My wife got the roasted chicken thigh (bone in). That was delicious. Surprisingly good. Service was outstanding, they have a great crew here. That's a plus over most fast food chains. So a few years (yes years) removed from eating here last, I'd say they're still pretty good. Good healthy option, decent price. Also, the restaurant is nice and clean and tidy!

It has been a minute since I've visited Bolay and man have I been missing out! Bolay caters towards…read moreserving customers fresh, healthy, and customizable "bols". Their ingredients are all very fresh and whole food focused. They pride themselves in using primarily olive oil for all their cooking--which I absolutely LOVE. The staff is always super helpful and very friendly. This particular location is also kept very clean, which is always appreciated. The portion sizes are always very filling as well. Some may consider the food to be more expensive, but I think it is fair. Especially compared to other eateries around (that are the same price), Bolay's quality and quantity easily justify the price. I always order a large Bol. The large bol consists of 4 greens, grains, or vegetables, 2 proteins, 3 toppings, and an optional sauce. I usually opt for a grain, a green, and 2 vegetables for the base. I find this to balance the bol out the most. My bol consisted of 100% whole grain black rice, chopped kale salad, garlic broccoli, roasted sweet potatoes, signature steak, rotisserie chicken thigh, pickled onions, feta, and chimichurri tomatoes. Their rice is always cooked to perfect and I enjoy their jasmine rice a lot. But the black rice was new to me. I'm so glad I tried it as it had a lot of flavor. A "nuttier" taste with a slightly stickier consistency, it was really good. You can never go wrong with any of their salads, broccoli, or sweet potatoes. The vegetables are always cooked perfectly! Seasoned just right, they are never dry, and have good texture. I definitely credit this to the fact they use olive oil to cook all their vegetables. Another thing I ALWAYS order is their signature steak. While this is a $3.75 up-charge, it is 100% worth it. The medium rare cook on the steak never fails and the portion is generous. I also tried the rotisserie chicken thigh for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed that too. I never order a sauce for my bols as I find the food has enough flavor itself. All in all, I need to go to Bolay more frequently next semester. A great, healthy option that fills you up and doesn't leave you feeling bloated--they offer so many great options! You can tell they use fresher ingredients and better cooking methods, which I greatly appreciate. The vegetables are delicious, the proteins are tender, and the portions are large. I think this one of the better lunch or dinner options in midtown. You are paying for higher quality food and getting more out of it compared to other places around. Cannot wait for my next visit come August!

One particular employee skimps pretty hard on the portions, which is just annoying. Also there's no place to park. It wasn't exactly what I was going for, but that's more on me than the place. We also got a Pick Two combo: a strawberry banana smoothie (with oat milk, banana, strawberries, flax seeds, and agave) and the Thai Chicken Crunch salad (romaine, red cabbage, roasted chicken, carrots, celery, and wontons). Everything was decent and fresh, just nothing that really stood out flavor-wise. We took everything to go since we were busy getting her room set up, and it worked for what we needed--a quick, fairly healthy option. One thing I wish they offered was a smaller portion size; everything felt a bit too much for a light lunch.
