Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad & Smokehouse BBQ Chicken Sandwich
    Alan M.

Panera is a great place to grab a solid meal & enjoy a wonderful ambiance. As you can see in the photos, the salads were amazing. On top of that I think the Smokehouse Sandwich is the best sandwich in town. We ate for under $25, including drinks, and took a pile of salad home. Can't beat that!

    My burnt bread sandwhich.

I was so shocked at how quickly we got thru the long line at this Panera. That's simply unheard of with Panera. The guy at the window was really nice and processed my payment and got my food to me so quickly. And then, I saw it. They made my sandwhich with burnt bread! I had to pull the burnt crust off because it not only tasted terrible but was impossible to bite thru. The bread that was left was horribly chewy and because the crust had to be torn off, not enough bread to contain the sandwhich ingredients. So my need to eat while driving turned into a huge mess. So frustrating. Why would you make a sandwich knowing the bread you're using is burnt and crappy?

Very good food, very friendly service. Love their corn chowder in the summer. The poppy seed fruit salad is a new favorite of mine.

Soooo slow. It took like 10 mins for a latte in an empty restaurant. And there was explanation or reason as to why.

So happy to finally have a family owned Cuban Cafe in our small town of Lake City. I always order a…read more strong Cafe con Leche with a Guava Pastry. We also enjoyed their breakfast option on Media Noche bread. Its a sweeter bread than the traditional cuban bread they use for sandwiches. Also if they have them in the case you must order the fried Yucca that is stuffed with meat and cheese. Just an FYI the sandwiches might take a little while, especially if they have other customers inside. So be sure to come here for breakfast if you have the time wait. If not you can always get pastries to go. There is also an assortment of desserts, from flan cheesecake to a cookie butter cake to try.

He understood what I meant and made me a delicious coffee. I had a ham n cheese empanada (baked). It tasted really good for breakfast because it wasn't greasy. I should have gotten a second one. I got a Media Noche, the sandwich had really good flavor and the bread was really sweet. The meat inside the sandwich was thick cut, which I am not used to having in a Cuban sandwich but it was very delicious. I liked the little crispy fries to eat with the sandwich. Finally, I got a guava/cheese pastelito which was good as well".

I'm not gonna lie, I've been checking this shops Facebook page daily and I finally got time to stop…read morein on a short work break! This is located right in the downtown area of Lake City. It's fresh, inviting, and just what we need in this little city! The inside is absolutely a vibe. It's cute, it's feminine, it to me - says yummy cupcakes! The display case is nice and large with an assortment that changes daily. To find out the daily cupcake offerings check out their Facebook page! I'm someone who normally goes crazy in a cupcake shop but space is limited in the fridge so I restrained myself to getting only three cupcakes, one for each person in my house. We did two salted caramel cupcakes and a maple praline. My mom and I shared ours and yum! The frosting is SWEET! If you have a sweet tooth this frosting is for you! The maple praline frosting is delicious and packs the most flavor. The cupcake itself is lightly flavored and not overwhelming. The salted caramel, I felt wasn't noticeably salty but that could be my taste buds. The cupcake itself held more flavor than the maple praline did but it wasn't bad or too much. Sometimes cupcake shops will offer but so many get one free but this shop doesn't do that. Instead they do have a reward point service. For every dollar you spend you get a point. Once you get to 100 points it's redeemable for a cupcake or another item up to $5. The cashier was super friendly and patient with me while I decided. Overall I love the shop, and I can't wait to go back for my next cupcake already! The only pain point I would say is the hours aren't not the best with them being open 11-6 or sold out. Maybe it's the big city girl in me but later hours until 7 or 8 would be great for those of us who work during the day and want to go on a week day instead of the weekends. I do understand offering an availability that suits the business and I have seen them open earlier on festival days which is nice! Also parking is street parking only unless I missed a parking lot sign. Don't park in the parking lot across from the shop since it's city hall parking and says they will tow.

I decided to give this shop a try since I have known about it for several months but been unable to…read morestop by while it was open. I purchased two bars: lemon curd and Oreo mud. I was not impressed with the temperature of the bars. While items I buy at some bakeries are cool, they're not cold to the point where the crust of the item is mushy. Additionally, I felt the lemon curd bar had extremely too much lemon flavoring, and I bake and purchase lemon bars regularly! The Oreo mud pie was decent. update: So, I tried their cupcakes, which are MUCH better than the bars. In fact, they are delicious! This may be because I didn't immediately eat them after purchasing them. They were room temperature, and delightful. The icing was delicious, and the cake was moist and yummy. Because I'm transparent in my reviews, I have to comment on the atmosphere of this place. Though the folks in the store gave a nice greeting and seemed friendly, I felt I was encroaching on family time, with various members of the family running around doing things. This is probably normal for the Lake City area, but it's definitely not something I'm used to in a professional bakery.
