I stopped by this location yesterday 10/31/24 after leaving the gym. There was a black middle aged woman with glasses and dreadlocks working alone (I can't remember her name). She was very polite and moving like 6 different human beings in 1 body LITERALLY SUPERWOMAN!!!! She asked me to please be patient she had many online orders to complete first, then 2 or 3 from the drive thru which was fine I had time and I loved how she was very respectful to customers and about being under an enormous amount of pressure working all alone! I actually felt bad for her but was astonished all at the same time! Not many people bring their HEART to work - a place of business! Most people would fold under that amount of pressure! Once she completed everything she took care of me, my 44oz strawberry gladiator with peanut butter, and mango was DELICIOUS! We had a small talk she told me she was from New Orleans, Louisiana whoever that woman is she most definitely deserves a raise or her own store location she's a very hard worker with great manners, respect, and people skills!!!!! The worst part of this experience was the 2nd shake. It was the Pumpkin D-Lite. It was extremely terrible. I finally tried this place out and it was mainly because there was a song named after this place (Bowling For Soup anybody?). Oh and I wanted a smoothie. I came on a Sunday around 11:15am and there was nobody here and a lot of parking in the parking lot. I looked at their menu online and saw a lot of flavors that all sounded great. The interior was clean and everything looked new (probably because this place opened in the past year or so. I asked the girl behind the counter what was the most popular smoothie and Angel Food was it. The Banana Berry and the Caribbean Way were numbers two and three after Angel Food. I ordered a 20oz (small) Angel Food ($4.29) since it wasn't a hot day to spend more on the larger sizes in my opinion. The smoothie was made in front of me and was done in a couple of minutes. The Angel Food tasted great and I would say the 20oz would be enough for most people. This location had a drive-thru window which I usually see a long line of cars when I drive by. Tonight at 8:43 we pulled into the drive though at the Kansa city location off flintlock to get my 12 year old a banana boat smoothie as he is having a internal complications and is to be admitted to the hospital on Monday for surgery. No one answered the drive though so we pulled to the window and immediately someone turned the lights off inside. I looked on the website it said 10. I called the store someone answered and said yes we are closed, I replied well it stayed 10 on the door. Smoothie King has great smoothies. I've visited this location several times and haven't been disappointed with the smoothies I have had. The store is not very large and there aren't many seats inside (there is usually a wait to get your smoothie because they have a steady flow of customers). They also have a drive thru that gets backed up a lot and, unfortunately, sometimes blocks traffic on the road where it is located. You can watch the employees make your smoothie and the ingredients look fresh. The employees have always been friendly when I have visited. I gave it a 4 star rating because their smoothies are a little pricey and also because of the inconvenience of having to wait so long at times and for the back up of traffic in the drive thru. read more

There is no sense of helping out the customer. This location seems to be worse than others. I will routinely sit in line for 15 minutes or more. And why? The workers are there, they aren't understaffed. They just have no sense of purpose in their roles. But it's not called "speedy king" so how much can I complain? read more

Waiting third in like for 40 minutes is ridiculous! They aren't making art, or dry aging steaks, it's a damn smoothie. You put the ingredients in a blender and that's it! It's an obvious display of a lack of management and procedures. I watched two employees smoke the works longest cigarette for most of this wait. But I wasn't in a rush so I waited, but then when I get to the window and they have the order completely wrong I start to get irritated. So I explain to the kid working I only had one drink, not three, he looks at me and says "no, you had..." um I think I know what I ordered and I'm the only one in the car. If I'm grading on the smoothies alone, I would certainly give this place a 5. The smoothies are delicious and I love how they focus on offering healthy options, including meal replacement smoothies. However, I had to take it down a few notches because this location is poorly run. Today is the third time in approximately a month that we have gone to get a smoothie and the employees are sitting in their car waiting for someone to unlock the door and let people in, after they are already supposed to be open. Two weeks ago, my husband arrived 20 minutes after they were supposed to open at 8am on Sunday. He waited a few minutes and someone did show up, but the staff member at the counter (a poor 16-year old girl who had no control over situation) told him it would be at least another 15 minutes for them to get set up. At 8:45 AM, he was told that they had to wait for the owner to come back for some reason. So he finally left. I'm not sure how a place can succeed if they can't offer customers smoothies during regular business hours. We were going every weekend but have lost our patience.
