Not overly friendly but he was frazzled with 4 people waiting in line to order so I can appreciate the stress... The place looks a bit dusty but overall clean enough for me to stay and enjoy my smoothie. I go to Smoothie Kings a lot, just not this one. I saw this one was close to where I was going and decided to come here. I ordered a chocolate Lean 1 with Peanut butter instead of bananas and was told they didn't have that flavor in stock. That's fine, I work in food. I get it. I asked her to make me my go-to backup drink, which involves two scoops of peanut butter since I can't have fruit. I used to put coffee and peanut butter, but its kinda gross. The guy at the Smoothie King in Sunset Place commented on my drink's funkiness and suggested I use double peanut butter, and I have been ever since. She tells me it is physically impossible to make, though. I ask is she's kidding, but, as you can guess by my one star review, she wasn't. So I ask her to just put one scoop of peanut butter and not put in a second fruit. She tells me she can't do that. I ask why, but apparently she just can't. So I settle for my funky coffee and peanut butter, which is apparently possible to make. I order a medium. Admittedly, I was distracted by my frustration when she rung me up a small. While she was making my shake, she told it was also impossible to make a Lean 1 without bananas. She asked me if I knew it always contains bananas, or if I just didn't notice. I didn't really feel like engaging with her, but I did explain that other Smoothie King employees simply don't put bananas in my smoothie when I ask them not to. To sum it up, I'm not coming back here. This was enough for me. And it also made me appreciate every other Smoothie King I've ever been to. They apparently make the impossible happen for me every day. read more

Right around the corner from where I live, I love that it's so convenient for me. My favorite smoothie is "angel food" which is with strawberries & bananas. It's a little bit on the expensive side considering that it's only a smoothie...I believe I pay about 4 dollars and some change for a small. I think too many people are over critical of this place. Well organized, fast service, lots of additional things to put in your smoothie and healthy snacks for a side. What more can you ask of a smoothie place? The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is the staff didn't welcome me. Petty... maybe... but it's an important part of service in my opinion. Friday is our smoothie day at the office. We ordered 2 vanilla lean mediums at the counter. The girl behind the counter was making one, and we said its two, they said no worries and added ice to make two smoothies. Our smoothies have no taste, and are diluted. So disappointed! read more

EXCELLENT!!! I'll say it again...EXCELLENT!! I have recently become a HUGE fan of smoothies. I can easily have one for breakfast and another for dinner. I usually make them at home but I decided to give Smoothie King a try. I knew that I wanted a Smoothie that had Pineapples and Mangoes in it. I'm one of those people who prefers a sweet and fruity smoothie. The staff was very helpful in helping me choose a smoothie that they felt I would enjoy. The Island Impact Smoothie was the smoothie that they recommended. I decided to add Strawberries and Greek Yogurt to my smoothie. It was AWESOME and I appreciated the recommendation! Where to start. I was the first customer in the store yesterday - Saturday January 21, 2023 around 2pm. and waited at the correct area to order. Since the 2 teenagers were in the back, leaving the front unattended, they did not know and started to take the order of a different customer. I mentioned I had been waiting and was suppose to be first, since being first at the order area was not obvious enough. I then ordered and requested the substitution of the regular milk to be with oak milk. The order was inputted, I was charged and half way through making the smoothie, they realized the were out of the requested milk and asked if I wanted another. Due to my dietary restrictions, I could not have the suggested almond milk so I said I could not have the smoothie and requested a refund. I was told they could not refund me and To come the next day, Sunday to speak with the owner. No contact information was provided nor the hours the next day. The concern was clearly not taken seriously since the only solution was to come the next day and wait all day??? I would not have purchased the smoothie if I was told ahead of time they were out of the product I was ordering. But instead, WAS TOLD HALFWAY THROUGH MAKING THE ORDER, AFTER CHARGING ME, WHEN IT WAS CLEARLY STARED BEFORE. The lack of professionalism, concern, and hospitality displayed by the 2 little girls working was disappointing for working in the service industry. Unfortunately, had to go out of the way to the smoothie king up the street from this one, who coincidentally has way better star ratings.. and I had impeccable service. read more

Very Tasty Treat! Wow! The smoothies taste great and they have so many to choose from. I love the green tea tango with strawberries and the Banana Boat! I go practically every chance I can get. i go to this location at least 3-4 times a week. never have i ever been greeted upon entry, sometimes i'm not even acknowledged. the most i've gotten is a "you know what you want?" from the blonde guy who seems to be there every day. they're always so so so rude at this location but they make my smoothie the way i want it so i've never complained, until today. i took one sip of my smoothie and i could immediately tell something was off. the store always smells like rotten yogurt but again, something i ignored because my smoothies have never been affected. it tasted like they put expired ingredients in my smoothie and i ended up dumping the whole thing shortly after walking out, not even bothering to ask for a remake because i know it would've been met with attitude. i worked in the food industry for many years and i can completely understand a bad day and not necessarily wanting to be there, but at the very least you can make your customers' orders with fresh ingredients and be polite. the kids in this store are always sitting, on their phones, or engaged in casual conversation with each other (cursing, talking about inappropriate things, etc). with zero regard for the customers walking in. i get it, working in food sucks sometimes and when you work with people your age you can make it fun, but it's like they are bothered when people come in and they have to do their jobs. it's YOUR job. if you don't like it, work somewhere else! read more

On numerous occasions I have ordered the high protein chocolate smoothie medium size. Let me remind you this is a 9 dollar smoothie. The ingredients call for protein, dates, almonds, cocoa, and no fat milk. They have been putting 3 HUGE scoops of SUGAR in place of the dates which they should NOT be doing. They are scamming people out of their money by substituting SUGAR for the healthy product because they are cheap. Never going back here again. read more

Ok I have in here a couple of times and everytime its been at least 10 to 15 minutes to get my order, well maybe thats normal I thought. But came today and there is a person in front of who 5 orders and I can see this is going to take sometime but there are 2 people in You would think that one of them could make my order so I would not have to wait for 35 minutes. Did not smile, she threw away my receipt, she would not allow me to use my smoothie king reward app. Both smoothies were watered down. I know the owners will probably delete this, but I will continue posting it wherever I can to warn customers about their food sanitation violations: Love SK, but was recently disappointed about a first time visit to this franchise at 14473 S. Dixie Highway. Myself and another customer witnessed a woman making smoothies, handling cash, and back to making smoothies without ever at any point washing her hands. At one point she even dropped change, picked it up off the dirty floor, and continued making smoothies. It was off-putting to say the least. The other customer and I exchanged knowing glances and he commented,"My wife would go crazy right now." I agreed, because food sanitation is important and I cannot understand why a company that used double filtered water would not want their staff washing their hands after handling cash. But everyone makes mistakes, and I am sure that she was just unaware. Nope. Some guy strolls in for the start of his shift, off the street, and begins making smoothies (also without washing his hands). At this point I realize, it is just common practice. I mean, who cares if he just used the bathroom before getting here, right? So I very calmly ask who the franchisee is, at which point they both fly around to face me and very defensively ask me what my problem was. "As a customer, I just wanted to bring it to their attention that I witnessed you both making smoothies and handling money and not once washing your hands. It does not make the smoothie very appetizing to me, and other customers were commenting on it as well." Well, turns out they were the owners and they both made it known to me that they will continue handling money and making smoothies and not washing their hands because it is common practice at ALL Smoothie King locations and they have been in this business for thirteen years and are not changing for me. (Did I mention they were both YELLING this in front of another patron?) They told me to "Get the hell out and don't ever come back here" and also told me "I don't give a s**t, contact corporate, contact the Food Inspector" (among other things... I am an affront to humanity, a loser...so on and so forth). So..... I just thought I would give you a heads up. Their highly erratic and defensive response to me was disappointing, though seeing their disregard for food safety- not surprising. I am pleased that I handled myself well, I was calm, polite and respectful and their off kilter reaction only did more to hurt them in the eyes of the other patrons who witnessed the exchange. read more

Smoothie King is THE BEST! They have the tastiest smoothies around, the widest variety of supplements, and REALLY great vitamins & things for sale in the shop (I love their weight loss and cleansing vitamins). Their rewards program is great, I love how instead of another card to fatten up my wallet, its all in their app - I've already gotten a free large smoothie and a couple of free boosts and I only get to go here about once a week because there aren't any locations that are really convenient for me, except for on one day of the week when I'm near this one. In particular, this shop rocks. Instead of wasting the little bit of smoothie that is almost always left over in the blender (like they do at every other smoothie place I've ever been to, even other Smoothie King locations) they will give it to you in a small sample cup or even a small cup if there's that much left. This makes me happy because I hate seeing perfectly good food wasted. The employees here are always very friendly and quick - this location is often quite busy and I've never had to wait for more than a few minutes to get my order. Parking can sometimes be a bit of a pain in this shopping plaza - there's too many popular stores in a relatively small space - but that is the only thing that I would change about this store. Please open a location in West Kendall - I would go there every single day! read more

Went in yesterday morning to get a smoothie and protein bars. There were about 6 people in line before me all waiting, so I opted ONLY to get protein bars. When I walked in two kids working then one disappeared. This left the poor girl to take the orders, make the smoothies and charge customers. She couldn't remember who had ordered, so ended up skipping a man who had been waiting. She charged one customer for two smoothies but only gave them one simply because the customer was upset that it was taking a long time. Long story short...it took 12 minutes for me to buy PROTEIN BARS. I was only able to pay when I did because I said I had been waiting over 10 minutes and imply wanted to pay. If this had been my first time, I would never return. Apparently when the owners aren't there, service is horrific. Sad, sad, sad. read more
