Somehow or another I got enrolled in text messaging marketing for this franchisee's locations which apparently include this one, 1604 and Bulverde. They sent out a text marketing blast advertising a BOGO offer today only. I was actually at the location closer to my house and saw the text blast and drove all the way over here for them to tell me it's the marketing promotion that every location is running that if you buy one today you get one free next week. The text message was very misleading stating "Visit us today and Buy One Smoothie Get One FREE" and Exp 06-21-20 -- not mentioning anything about the free smoothie being next week. A little bait-and-switch if you ask me so I'll avoid these three locations. Also worth noting they didn't blend the smoothie very well so it's super thick and not very "drinkable." Smoothie King is like a crazed, fruity kick to the taste buds. Offering every kind of fruit combination you can imagine, Smoothie King provides folks with endless blended fruit choices. Smoothies are the perfect pick-me-up and, after playing tennis in the sweltering heat last night, I was ready to be elevated. I went with the pineapple snack right smoothie, which also includes strawberries and kiwis. It was great after my workout, as pineapple and strawberries almost always are. Smoothie King offers several sizes, and has different caloric categories (do you want to Stay Healthy or Indulge?) to help you decide which smoothie to go with. They also have a pretty good array of healthy snacks, like veggie sticks that were being sampled, to vitamins and protein bars. (A side note about the veggies sticks: they tasted like mildly flavored Styrofoam. That's all.) I would guess that one of Smoothie King's major competitors is Jamba Juice and I have to say, I think I still prefer the taste of Jamba over the King. Smoothie King has a bit of an odd, mineral taste that I don't find in Jamba's smoothies. I still like Smoothie King though and enjoy feeling good about a food purchase. Just remember, a smoothie packs about as many calories as a small meal, so don't think of them as just a drink. read more

I am an avid smoothie lover specifically from Smoothie King but this location is hands down the worst location that I've been to. When I first walked in, it smelled of mildew and dirty water. I went ahead ordered and the young girl was extremely unfriendly. I waited for my order to be called and headed out the door, this was the worst smoothie, I had ever had. Being a creature of habit, my smoothie of choice is the same every time so I know exactly what it should taste like but this day was different, it was terrible. The three young girls working where laughing and chatting obnoxiously loud and one girl was even on her phone while I waited.
