I will say that service has been fantastic at all the locations I've been to and this one was no different. The employees here were very helpful in recommending new cigars to try. The Fincks brand of cigars are really a great value, inexpensive but they taste pretty good. They do have a smoking lounge inside the store but I prefer to smoke outside, and that's okay. They have tables and chairs outside for people like me. There are a lot of cigar stores in San Antonio but you will be hard pressed to find one that makes you feel as comfortable as Fincks. If you enjoy cigars and good conversation, try Fincks cigars. It's definitely a no cigar snob zone.

The cigar dude listened, then recommended a brand because it has been around a long time and was therefore likely something my uncle had sampled before. I'd have been open to buying some fancy Cuban stick, but he recommended something quite reasonable (under $10) and I liked the idea behind it. Picked up three total so my parents can do both options or share with anyone who expresses an interest. Been to Finck a couple of times and some of the major differences (not necessarily positives or negatives) are: staff doesn't follow you around the humidor, lounge large outdoor covered smoking patio and not as "exclusive" selection of cigars. This is a hangout spot and that's what I like about it. Whenever I'm in the area I have to force myself to not stop by Finck because I don't want to just purchase some sticks and leave, I want to stay and hang. Parking is a little limited, but besides that Finck is a great place to stop-in. Patrons are also friendly and will converse.
