Friday afternoon was a hot day. I was driving back from a photoshoot outdoors in downtown and was looking for something healthy and refreshing to drink. When I was searching online for a place on the way home, I found Smoothie King. Also, I saw something about $5 Fridays. I called to ask about it and the promotion was happening. It's $5 for a 32-ounce smoothie! There were so many choices on the wall of the menu but I did have berries in mind. The Immunity Booster was what I wanted but not too crazy about almond milk and would like to replace that with coconut water. Sure enough, they were able to make that change. NUT ALLERGY BEWARE This is my favorite smoothie king in the area. Which makes this even more upsetting. My daughter and I were there around 6 this evening and ordered our smoothies. I have severe allergies and never go anywhere without my epi pen. While waiting for mine to be made the young lady made a smoothie in the blender marked everywhere on it that said "no nuts, no peanut butter, no soy" etc... As she is adding Peanut butter, I mentioned that it is the mixer for no allergens and she ignores me. I mention it again and she says Ma'am I will wash it. The cashier who served us was completely unprofessional, she treated us as if we were bothering her. My boyfriend and I placed our order online at 8:35pm and arrived at Smoothie King at 8:40pm (this location closed at 9pm today). So we got down and headed toward the doors, and as my boyfriend is opening the door we realize... they're locked. AT 8:40??? 20 minutes prior to when they "close". There are two teenage girls inside the store who see my boyfriend and I and continue to ignore us. Mind you, we can literally see our smoothie inside the store just sitting in the little mobile order pick up area. We continue to try to open the door when one of the girls mouths to us, " Our ice machine is broken." (which is clearly not true LMAO) . My boyfriend and I both laugh and point to our smoothie saying that's ours ? Like how are we supposed go get the smoothie we already payed for if you wont open the door...? & you aren't even closed. She finally walks over to the door, unlocks it, and says "Can I help you?", making sure to be sassy. I say, "we need our smoothie", pointing to THE ALREADY MADE SMOOTHIE. And she quickly switches up by saying " Oh! Here you go! Haha our machine broke right after we made your smoothie (YEA OK LOL) so we just thought it was easier to close 20 minutes early."
