Some of us stopped in here on a whim after our monthly luncheon at a nearby venue. I wanted to try them out because - let's face it - everybody likes pie! I opted for the four pack, not so I could save a few bucks, but so I could try four different pies. I bought a lemon pie, Keylime pie, chocolate cream pie, and coconut cream pie. I should say that these are mini pies that are about 4 inches around. They do have full size pies, as well, but what's the fun in that! So far, I have only tasted the lemon pie. All I can say about it is,"Wow!" no... I lied! I can also say that the filling was wonderfully creamy and smooth and had a very nice lemony taste. The graham cracker crust was very thin and did not tracked from the taste of the pie. Now I have three more mini pies sitting in my refrigerator, staring at me every time I open the door. I wonder how long they'll be in there before piggy Jim has tasted all of them. I will definitely be back here to try more pies and buy more pies. I could not have fully prepared myself for how delicious these pies are!! I got two small pies - one coconut cream and one banana cream. The cream on top is ASTOUNDING! It's light and fluffy but packs a rich flavor. The pie itself is rich and flavorful, too, with a great texture - not soggy and not dry, just the perfect amount. These held up well in the fridge for a couple of days, too. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even though they were bustling because of pi day lol I'll be back soon. As we were about to get on the highway, we saw a sign with pies in the name and looked it up. Buttermilk Sky Pies looked great online so we ventured here later that day. We chose the apple, lemon ice box, I-40, and chewy chocolate chip. The I-40 was an amped up version of pecan pie with chocolate chips and coconut, which was interesting. I was most excited about the chocolate chip one but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. While the cookie part was very good, it was extremely difficult to cut into a cookie baked in a crust. The apple pie had good flavor but was all mushy, including the crust. It needed some different textures. Perhaps a firmer crumble on top would've helped. The lemon ice box pie was very good and not too sour. My daughter loved the thumbprint cookies. I love that they offer smaller pies and the four that we got were 4 inches. We saved a bit of money getting the four pie pack. Despite some challenges with the ones we chose, I am looking forward to visiting again to try more pie options! read more

I am a sucker for key lime pie and this one is delicious. They have smaller 4" pies as well as full size pies. They also have some you can take home and stick in the oven. The lady at the register was helpful. She had the recommendation to stick the chocolate pie in the freezer. It smacked in the summer; tasted straight up like ice cream. The pie shop is tucked in the shopping center next to the axe throwing facility. Stopped by because I was a few doors down. The pies are staring at you when you walk in the door. Perfect little pies calling your name. It's a nice spot but it does not have real sitting space. This is such a cute little pie shop! It is very conveniently located at the corner of Redland Rd and westbound 1604, so no having to go off the beaten path to get to it. They have a big display case with all their pies, and for those of you that like variety like me, go with the 4 inch pies to try a few different flavors instead of just getting one big one with a singular flavor. They were pretty busy when we got there but the girls were really sweet and helped us pick some of the more popular flavors and told us about the specials. Out of all of the flavors the Key Lime Pie was everyone's favorite. The pecan was good, and the custard with good but I was expecting a bit more . . . It just didn't quite deliver as much as the other two. Our least favorite was the peanut butter. It was very strong, the flavor just punched your taste buds, it was not subtle at all, and when I think of pie I don't expect it to be a mouthful of peanut butter. Delicious pie, I like that they make the little single serve ones that were well made. They have a section for regular pies as well as cold ones, and you can add ice cream to it if you so desire. Service was polite and quick not a place that you would necessarily eat your dessert, but it was great to go. Just what I needed for a hot day will be back in the future. read more

Thought I post this review since it seems like we are on a sugar high run this summer trying out some new dessert places in the area. The key lime pie caught my eye right through the glass window and it did not disappoint. It's was light , great flavor and the crust was, oh so good! The apple pie was good too but was more willing to share it with the wifey so I could devour the key lime by myself. I'm have my eyes set on the banana crème and the peanut butter pie on the next trip. I like that there are a few other treats in the shop to mix it up. The place has about 4 bar chairs at the high table to eat there, in case you don't think you can make it home first. As soon as we walked in the delicious smell of apple and cherry pies almost made me melt into the floor. The owners were both there and took care of us! I wanted to try somewhere different for pecan pie -- an actual bakery. Went here in the afternoon and turns out they don't sell by the "slice". They sell little "personal" pies, which is fine. At least that's what I thought. But now I understand why. Once you get to the center, that's where the actual filling is. The crust was thick and they probably do that on purpose to minimize the amount of inside stuff. So there wasn't much of the pie itself. This was about $6. Note that a full pie at Walmart is around $6-7. The pie also did not really taste like a legit pie flavor. It tasted more so like a "cake" flavor. read more

Cute pie shop conveniently located off 1604. I popped in to pick up a pie for new neighbors. Instead of getting 1 pie we got 5 mini pies (4 for them and one for us). The staff packaged the 4 pies on a cute stack and tied off the top with our choice of ribbon colors. They also had the perfect little gift tags available for purchase for a dollar. There were so many choices and it all looked great! We bought the cherry pie for my husband, a peanut butter cream pie, a key lime pie and 2 chocolate cream pies. The one chocolate cream pie was free and I gave it to my neighbor who loves chocolate cream pies. We taste tested all of them. Dad's favorite is the peanut butter. The Buttermilk Sky Pie location is adorable, clean and good to quickly pop into! When you walk in, all of the pies look delicious which makes it hard to decide. My friend ended up ordering the I-40 pie and thumbprint cookies to bring to a party so I figured I'd try those before ordering anything else. While not generally a fan of this type of cookie, I was pleased with how soft they were- tasted super fresh! As for the I-40 pie (pecan pie, chocolate chips and coconut)... this was too many flavors in one pie for me. With that said... the texture and quality were great. Each of the individual flavors were very prevalent with each bite which is what threw me off. Pies we didn't care for are blueberry and coconut cream both were incredibly sweet. With the topping off the coconut the base was good. Topping was like super sweet marshmallow. The greatest thing about Buttermilk Sky is you can get a full size pie for special occasions or they have personal size pies. The small pies are a perfect dessert size! The shop is so clean, the ladies are incredibly kind and one more super important fact. They do have gluten free pies!!! They usually always have 2 kinds of small GF on hand. My girlfriend has celiacs and never gets really amazing desserts. I ordered a gluten free strawberry pie and you could not tell it was GF. It was fantastic. The banana cream only comes in a full size pie but man is it worth it! The crust is to die for and it's a cookie crust. This is worth a try. I promise you will go back and order holiday pies. Some of the tastiest pies ever. we purchased 3 pies for our family namely buttermilk, pecan, key lime and a smaller 4 " blueberry pie for hubby. Those pies went like lightening because they were delicious made with quality ingredients and the crust tasted like a yummy butter cookie. I loved the interior of the pie shop because it reminded me of mason jars, lemonade, a French porch swing and checkered table cloths in the summer.
